I have this keyboard and love it. I live in Canada and it was literally impossible to find anyone to ship it to me, so I had to order it on Amazon when I was in Europe a few months ago, and it eventually made it over to me. I wouldn't call the build quality up to professional standards (and mine had a gimpy key), but they're really on to something with this design and I would love to see this concept developed further until the bigger companies like Korg Yamaha & Roland catch on to the idea that a folding keyboard is also incredibly practical for professional gigging musicians as myself. They keyboard uses a computer keyboard-type mechanism, which takes a little getting used to, but unlike the X-Key design, it's surprisingly playable. The big difference between those 2 designs is that this keyboard actually has the black keys raised a decent amount, allowing you to feel your place on the keyboard properly. I wish the black keys were longer (even just a little longer), and I wish even more that they would come out with a 73 key C-C keyboard, of which I would buy two immediately. Hoping to see more of this innovation out there as they're going a good direction with this!
Did yours have the square orange buttons? I bought the one on Amazon uk shown to match the one on this video but I was sent a model with out the square orange buttons
Hmmmm... I think I'll keep using the X-Key 37 Air, but I think that these "shorter" keys on the Carry-On is what makes it feel different, otherwise although the X-Key is so expensive, I'm quite happy with it and the its rock solid slim chassis, but I agree in that having the black keys at the same heigh as white ones makes it different from other keyboards, sometimes it's also a blessing for fast paced easy playing and even for playing it like a KeyTar. The Carry-On looks great, although more than anything else I'd like to have some really solid (unlike other foldable keyboards) locking mechanism so it doesn't bend over your knees.
This is a slight consideration for a lunch-break or other-away-from-home compositional tool. It's Achille's heel is the pitch bend wonkiness, but maybe that can be overcome with macro-level programming. If not for the pitch-bend problems, it might be a strong consideration.
@@TEJAS99111 Are you sure? But it has a midi-trs-adapter. So if you take power of a usc-c plug you should be able to use it without an computer/phone only with a hardware-synthesizer for instance.
It's explained in this video. When you turn it on (by holding the button) it starts in pairing mode, then you connect to it from any app that supports MIDI over Bluetooth. You do NOT pair with it through your normal Bluetooth settings screen.
Not sure what he does, but I use a free program called Bluetooth Audio Receiver on Windows. Whatever sound is on my tablet will go to my PC and to my headphones.
It isn't currently available in the US (I checked with the manufacturer). You have to order it from a foreign website and pay for international shipping.
Hello.. i just bought the Midiplus Vboard 49 .. it looks exactly identical to your keyboard, but it doesn't say "Carry on" (it says Vboard). With Chinese products you can often find the same item with different brand names.. (clones). In any event.. i'm trying to find out if this keyboard can RECEIVE MIDI signals?? i'm using it as a controller for my DAW (on my laptop) and what i play into my DAW (Native Instruments Maschine) and then have the MIDI data be used from the Keyboard to another place (on my iPad). Do you know if this Keyboard can also RECEIVE MIDI BACK after its played/sent MIDI?
Aren’t the midiplus ones with scales instead of arpeggiator? I think this version can only receive midi clock for the arpeggios over usb. If you want midi BT from a daw to an ipad you need to setup a BT connection between PC and ipad. I don’t think this device works as a BT midi host but don’t take my word tor it. Check manual.
@@o3rMeNs Actually it's fine.. it can receive MIDI & transmit it excellently. & it transmits MIDI via Blue with NO Latency. When i first got it i was trying to do MIDI to my iPad, which i accomplished.. But i was trying to do some freaky sh!t with apps, that i needed to get a MIDI USB cable for.. and then it worked.. When i use the Keyboard straight to my laptop.. i just need a regular USB cable to my USB Hub and its fine.
Guys, help, i can't save presets - i don't want to have pitch/modwheel on XY pad and tryna switch it with their Carry-on Control app, it works, but after i turn it off and then on this settings dissapear, what can i do with it?
Interesting... The price is somehow crazy. I don't think it is worth it. I have got a (big) Arturia-Keyboard with half-weighted keys one month ago with 49 keys, it has eight drumpads, 9 knobs, 9 faders, a real pitch and mod-wheel, and its price was just 25 Euros more than this. (149€ for the arturia Keylab 49 Essential,, the tested keyboard is about 125€) Its not that mobile, but it got a bag with it, and is real playable. These keys of the carry in-thing seem to be a bit frustrating, is there any velocity possible?
Yes, and that's the main thing I like about this keyboard. The keys don't depress like a proper piano (they travel straight down, vertically) but at least they are the correct width, which makes it easy to go between this and something more substantial.
Tested it yesterday in local music instruments store. It seemed ok but I didnt like the length of black keys. I couldn’t play something more or less complex. Velocity sensitivity was decent but need more time to evaluate. Overall I think that you can adapt to keyboard, its a matter of time spent with this instrument. Maybe I will buy it, may be will not. I am definitely ready to spend much more money for professional instrument of this format. I hope will continue iterating development. I will look closely at their website.
why cannot even the most expensive of "controller" keyboards not just have the basic 128 something midi standard sounds built in? ...and the old school standard 2 midi in out ports, as an added 2 dollar bonus... ooooh wow it would add $8 at most to a $100-ish dollar (or less) "midi controller" unit. just add the midi sounds you DINGUS! ~for your health

Consider using a shipping forwarder if parcels are difficult to reach you.

How to pair the keyboard? I need an app for android phones🙄

I wish they'd make a 16 inch model that folded down to 8 inches.
You are a very nice tutor!
Thank you!
Hey sir just wanted to ask you whether it necessarily needs a phone or computer / laptop for the keyboard to work ??
Yes

Valeu irmão! Otimo video🙏

It have bulit-in speakers?
Hi, it works on usb directly to the laptop? Thank you
Most important: does it do CV?
No, it's MIDI!
Can you use it with and Android phone? Like Bandlab? Thanks
Yes!
How to pair this keyboard? There is no Bluetooth pairing button and holding the on/off button also doesn't go to pairing mode

i doubt ill get an answer but does anyone know if this is good for nostalgiaコナステ?
Hey I am curious how are you recording the midi sound from your phone for this video?

Where can I buy this model online in the US? Amazon only has the non velocity version…
It isn't currently available in the US (I checked with the manufacturer). You have to order it from a foreign website and pay for international shipping.
Reverb.
Is there a direct link to buy one?
Does it have any automatic chords ?
Is it suitable for learning piano?
It's good for learning the basics, but it's better to get a keyboard with piano sized weighted keys.
@@NerdMusician Thank you sir, do you have any suggestions for a 61 key folding piano product?

Yes, it has velocity sensitive keys.
the whole point is the idea of being able to travel with this. Unless you're travelling it makes zero sense.
I wonder if the keys are the actual width of a real piano, 7/8 of an inch?
