Pike Queen Lucy was just like "hey, Seviper's color scheme is pretty cool. I'm gonna use it and look really good while doing it"
Her hair also plays off of Seviper's silhouette, long and slick with two long strands of hair in the front with red highlights reminiscent of its fangs.
She also got similar eyes, but the most visible detail is her belt thing that is made out of similar diamond shapes as Seviper's yellow scales.

Fittingly enough, when the UBs were first revealed a lot of people speculated that they'd be the true forms of certain characters due to similar designs, including Nihilego to Lillie.
I remember there was also Guzma and Xurkitree
I remember those theories! I think it was that Lillie was Nihilego, Lusamine was Pheromosa, and Gladion was Xurkitree? I was honestly so disappointed that wasn't how it actually was, I stopped following speculation during hype seasons.

I kind of assumed that the things iono wears in her hair are electronic props/accessories. like those high tech full face masks some people wear, the ones that have different light up faces on the screen
That's cause they are exactly that lol
The thing is they float and move around like their alive, they have emotion, or the the Pokemon world figured out how to connect robots to brains via bluetooth

I actually saw the shiny Kyogre suit once back then and was disappointed I didn't get it after beating her, till I saw that video who explained about how to shiny hunting costume xD

There’s definitely more Trainer designs with Pokémon elements. For one, Allister’s mask appears to be made of the piece of his Galarian Corsola’s shell that broke off when it evolved into Cursola, and his suspenders have a Corsola face on the back. Also, Bede’s hair looks like a composite of various Fairy-type hairstyles, most notably Galarian Ponyta (in the center).

Iono's Magnemite accessories are confirmed to be special hair clips. Ioni said so herself when she first appeared in a Pokémon Presents to tease a new pokémon for SV. She immediately dismissed that it's the things on her hair. (The pokémon would later be revealed to be Bellibolt.)

The warlords in Conquest are also a good example of throwing all subtlety out the window. Their base forms may or may not have some hints to their perfect link Pokemon, but once they transform their outfits are full of inspiration from their partner Pokemon

I remember before Sun and Moon came out, people deduced the connection between Lillie, Gladeon, and Lusamine because they all looked like the first 3 ultra beast shown (Lillie/Nihilego, Gladeon/Buzzwole, Lusamine/Pharamosa)

In the real world we put animals on our clothing all the time, even if theyre the wrong color. Makes sense that they wiuld do the same in the Pokemon World.
As for Iono's hair clips, maybe they're telepathically connected to her mind whenever she puts them on and can float & emote to match her whims. Seems like a lot for simple hairclips but considering the kind of advanced technology that exists in the Pokémon World, it isnt to much of a stretch to believe something like that is available to the general public.
Riley was always my favorite in regards to pokemon trainers who's looks were inspired by the pokemon they used, even if it probably was more toned down than most.

My favorite case of these are the Sygna Suits in Pokémon Masters. Red's design has flames along the pants and a blue flame pin on his hat to match his Mega Charizard X, and that's only his base design, the colors change completely to black and blue when he reaches 6 star

speaking of iono's questionably alive magnemite hair buns and how they could potentially be a species variant she's using as hair accessories, i find the dog breed-ification of rotom in pokemon so fascinating.
in gen 4, rotom was this one time only per save pokemon that used the legendary music and convinced many that it was something special, but after rotomdex was introduced in gen 7, rotom phones, drones, and more introduced in gen 8, it's now implied in gen 9 via class lessons that the rotoms in rotom phones *can't leave them* and implied further with the introduction of the selfie stick in teal mask that rotom phone's can't operate on their own beyond floating to recieve calls/messages and saving users from falls. what do you mean my phone inhabited by a sentient pokemon can't just float a couple of feet away to take a picture by itself like it could in galar? like raihan very clearly did multiple times? rotom have become like dog breeds in pokemon now, there's the wild wolves that you can encounter and use on your teams and then there's the french bulldogs who are trapped in your cellphone and can only fly if it's to face time or save you from falling off a cliff to your death.
I feel it's more like they don't WANT to leave. Rotoms love mischief. What could give them more capacity to do mischief than unchecked constant Internet access?
