I like the interesting create-a-monster concept and how the game seems to pull it off surprisingly well despite possible odd-looking designs. Was surprised how you can draw the monster and it comes out pretty accurate to what you drew.

Actually, I played this game. I bought a copy of it, even. As a kid, I didn't get how to make complex and cool creatures, so I just did whatever my imagination would come up with out of the parts I had available. It was a doofy game, but fun in its own way.
Did you struggle as much as Jaiden did for water skip crusher?
@@muffinking6088 I'll say that it was hard to fully understand at first, and learning each additional variation came with a new challenge. Once you get what's going on though, it's not SO hard.
I played it, it was at blockbuster to rent so I had it a few times. Th creative process was fun as hell but I got bored after a bit.

My grandma bought this game for me when I was a kid and it frustrated the hell outta me, so much that I ended up selling it. Years later I realized that I actually enjoyed the game so I bought it again off ebay. I'm glad this game is getting some well deserved exposure!

I'm kind of tired of people using an actual name that is used by actual people as a way to insult people. I get the joke, but please understand there are real flesh and blood people out there named Karen or Karin who now get bullied and shut up just because of their name. It's causing serious distress in some teenagers and children and even adults also, and no, not only the group you intend to target in that manner. I'm sure people dont really realise this when they use that name as a term, and that there is not actual offense or insult ment to people with that actual name, but please grow aware of the damage it's doing to real people. Your name should not be a reason to get mocked and insulted. Imagine if your name becomes the next hype name to use to insult people. That you see your name online all over the place, as a term to mock and insult. As if your very name is something bad and to be ashamed off. It's damaging. So please dear people, if your intention is not to make innocent people feel like their name is something to be ashamed off, to contribute to mental health issues, be kind and stop using it. It could be some obscure reference that I don't understand, it's probably just actual nonesense though. Regardless, I appreciate the Wind Waker reference! It's one of my favorite games!

As someone else who bought this game and played it as an adult, I can tell you that it isn't your fault that that water slide game is hard. I restarted the whole game, made my monster to be specifically good at that mini game according to the associated stats, and still couldn't even get close. The flicking portion is just not well coded. Never made it past that point, just put it back in the case and let it collect dust

I love how everything is always perfectly drawn, doesn't matter the franchise or complexity; the Pokemons on the Nuzlocks, the stages on the Mario Kaizo video, even those weird and overwhelmingly complicated-looking creatures on Amazing Island. You don't take shortcuts in animating them on top of drawing them perfectly always. You are the really amazing one here

Jaiden if you didn't know already, fossil fighters has a sequel: Fossile Fighters: Champions! It makes a tiny bit more sense than the original and has new mechanics! It's probably my favourite game of all time and I love it. I would really appreciate if you played it because there is pretty much no playthroughs of it :D

I loved this game so much as a kid and just kind of assumed I was the only person who ever played it because at no point has anyone talked about it ever. But I literally made some of my creations in this game into actual RP characters that I still use to this day. This game has zero business being as good as it is and I'm glad it still holds up and my opinion of it isn't just nostalgia.
Agreed. The minigames get old after too long, but I kept coming back to the monster maker. The only other gamecube game with that "This is obviously intended for very young children" target audience that I'd come back to after all this time is probably Gotcha Force.

I tried playing this game on an emulator once. Couldn’t get past the first set of trials because Waterskip Slider required me to mash the button faster than I was physically capable of doing *while* managing every other thing you need to do in that minigame. Gave up after 16+ attempts and deleted the ISO.
I feel bad for any kid that got this game and couldn’t progress because of how ludicrously high the skill ceiling is
That's pretty much why I quit back in the day.
If you’ve played sonic forces before you would know that in the end it requires you to press the button multiple times super fast and I could not for the life of me do it so I had to have someone do it fire me :(
so there's this thing, apparently this minigame is straight up broken on emulator.
Emulators are impossible to get timing right in, they’re always slightly slower than the real game/console so your button presses and visuals will never line up. I don’t think you could play this on an emulator.
The button mash is super hard though. There’s no game with faster button pressing.
