Great demo! Those are a son of a gun too install in the vehicle! 50’s Cadillac’s are the worst! I always like to use the brass plugs because they don’t leak!
The next one I do. I want screw in freeze plugs. Some wouldn't say that's a bad ideal. But since I would be the one taking care of it. There would be no water especially during winter. And if it needs to be torn down and stored for the winter. Take it out and put it back. No need to buy a set just for one.
"Freeze plugs" were never intended for that anyway. The manufacturer just needed a way to pour casting sand into the molds, the fill those holes afterwards. They were not for popping out when the water freezes.
@@skylinefever I know exactly why it was done. However freeze plugs are not only the lowest point but it's also the path of least resistance. Unless the block is of poor quality.
@@skylinefever Also, why do males automatically think they know more than females? If one person knows something that someone else doesn't know. That doesn't mean they know more. Seems like the only time we get acknowledgment is if we're dropdead gorgeous or have some outstanding body😑. Which then conditions us to use our bodies just to get followers.
@@lynnrunningdeerB4 I didn't know anything about your gender, I just point out that "Freeze plugs" aren't exactly that, because it is a myth that has persisted for decades. Some people understand that freeze plugs are just a name that stuck in American car repair jargon.
Thanks Danny but back in the day I had a 383 Dodge with a frost plug leak rusted so I installed them in the car but one of them I put a frost plug heater did you do anything like that?
Yes , I’ve had to install them in the car before, never thought about using a heater.🤔but I like to use the expandable rubber ones. Cost more but they work! 👍
Never noticed your I am in training. Love it. All of us no matter how much experience should have that outlook

Wisdom is earned :) If I was left to my own devices to figure this out I fear I would have made every mistake possible Thank you for the video.

@@skylinefever what about my comment led you to believe that I didn't know this? Also the y should have been a dead giveaway.

Well I live up north where it gets to 50 to 60 below zero so I doubt you get many calls for a Frost plug heater.
