Two nice things to know when painting clones, regardless of what battalion you want to paint. 1. The clones never really had an official way or painting their armor, just look at the named clones Tup, Kix, and Jesse and you see just how much freedom you have. And if you want more freedom then take a look at the Wolfpack and Wolffe himself. Also, commander Gree of the 41st Elite Corps even painted on some sick camouflage at one point. 2. The clones painted their armor by hand themselves so it can look a bit crappy and it is technically canon :) Side note, I kinda wish they hadn't made a Rex sculpt and instead allowed for more freedom to paint them however we want.
This rules. Shatterpoint is so rad. Great example of what happens when a studio isn't afraid to experiment with novel game mechanics. I've enjoyed the two intro games of Legion I've played, but like you said at the beginning, you're locked-in colorscheme-wise unless you're the odd duck that doesn't mind purple battledroids. I was never a fan of not being able to paint my toys like I want, and could never do a whole army since whichever side you choose you're doing a lot of white or a lot of tan/sand color for your troops. Shatterpoint is the perfect amount I can deal with, and this tutorial is straight aces. I had no idea where to start on some of these (zandri dust on the droids was a greeeeaaat shout!) and I love how quick your tutorials get things painted for games. Thank you kindly. Looking forward to more shatterpoint tutorials in the future especially with the new boxes coming out (I can't wait to paint Mace Windu). Maybe a battle report or two?
Well timed as I'm working through my core set and the Obi-wan kit. This, your legion video, and Sorastro's videos have helped me greatly. Thanks for the variety!
I think my favourite part of this video is the cuts on the terminator in the ad, as it really highlights the difference between what you see zoomed in on a model when examining it closely vs across the table! Also despite Peachy's approach of watching videos to get exact schemes, there is a lot of variation in the details of Star Wars characters across media - so you can always make them your own without a problem.
I've been waiting for this project before starting my box; thank you all over at Painting Phase for helping us out! Hopefully this is the first of many Shatterpoint videos (maybe even "Ex-GW Employees Compare and Contrast Shatterpoint vs Killteam")
Amazing video tutorial y’all make me want to buy Shatterpoint even more and rewatch this video enough times to paint them all. Thank you for the ending comments, really appreciate the honesty. You’re paintings always excellent Peachy!
Great result for the time spent! I do the same with the figures as a colour reference, haven’t heard ‘Bob on’ since I left RAF Scampton in the 90’s lol
Perfect timing as I’m staring down these two boxes myself, these videos really help with my own stumbles about my painting ability and really drive home that it’s ok to paint and play. Keep up the great work and also… those adds make me laugh every single time!
Looks easy painting those massive models from everyone painting Legion😜😚Your knowledge and experience really shows and is amazing. The next level touches are exactly that, next level. Thanks
I really get a lot out of your painting tutorials. With your background as an army painter I feel I learn a lot from seeing how you paint armies. that was something I always got a lot of value out of the Hang out and Hobby twitch stream. So glad you guys are doing that too!
Absolutely loved this video!!! ❤ I have so much more confidence to tackle my Shatterpoint Core Set now! Love the Star Wars content and it’s all the more appreciated because I know it doesn’t fit the algorithm as well as 40k! Thank you, chaps!! 😁
thank you for sharing. i prefer star wars models, so this was nice. although I'm not interested in shatterpoint. I do legion stuff. I can use this video to reference how I might paint up Ahsoka when they finally come out with the Clones padawan version.
Peachy, you got to get youre self some of the ArciveX paints, they are color matches to the 3 first movies (ep4-ep5-ep6) and does so the colors are totaly correct, I have them and I have painted a 1/72 scale millennium falcon model with them, and several other vehicles. And i am going to pick up shatterpoint as my local comicbook store stocks it
I think its a testament to you guys to make such an great and entertaining video even for someone who never caught the star wars bug (this is the polite way of putting so i dont get lynched.... If you guys love it more power to you, its just not for me) Again Great job Peachy and Pat!
i’m doing six sets of these as my first real commission project. After 20 years of painting warhammer, these were a rewarding but very different experience. especially since every model is a character, and you can’t hide mistakes or discrepancies behind a big blob of power armor or a ton of chaos demons that all roughly look the same. Also the details of warhammer are more exaggerated, and the cuts in the plastic of the details are more shallow in these models. So i go to paint Anakin’s face like i’ve painted hundreds of world eater faces and it looks like crap lol. I fixed it though.
I mean there’s always room for kitbashes, those rebel stormtroopers are actually 3D printed minis from skullforge studios, and they do loads of remnant stuff
its a game system I have zero interest in, however the models do looks very nice and this sort of paint guide for "not GW" is very useful for techniques and colour mixes so keep up the good work :) hint: Battletech could do with some love..
"I'm a historical painter" How is Star Wars any different, it does take place "a long time ago" after all. 😂 Great video, my group has been thinking of trying this, so perfect refence for us.
Wow, the whole of that demo was scrapped//not included on the final result. This isn’t even a full “vertical slice” so I wonder how much time went into its development
This is clone wars era Ashoka so she's still got blue, box art is all marketed as blue too so I think we're safe. Her lightsabers don't turn white until rebels?
More Star Wars, more non-Games Workshop games/models, more Peachy, what a treat.

More like Star Wars: Peachy’s Shattered Point
Well timed as I'm working through my core set and the Obi-wan kit. This, your legion video, and Sorastro's videos have helped me greatly. Thanks for the variety!
Happy to help, Sorastro is so very talented, love that guy 😍👍

The 'feeling left out' terminator is giving me big Marvin from 'Hitch-hiker's Guide' vibes! Great guide as always chaps!
I've been waiting for this project before starting my box; thank you all over at Painting Phase for helping us out! Hopefully this is the first of many Shatterpoint videos (maybe even "Ex-GW Employees Compare and Contrast Shatterpoint vs Killteam")
Beautiful video! More Star Wars content please!!😍😍
I have been so excited to get this and thank you so much for doing this vid

😍🙏😍 thanks

Haha! Yeah I say it a fair bit lol. And if anyone is reading this messsge, follow Iain on a Instagram his stuff is ace!
@darkblades_workshop
Nice to see some Shatterpoint being covered. Nice paint jobs on the miniatures. I may have to borrow some of those tips :)
Another great resource for the colour schemes in the box art on these as they show each model.
Thanks so much for sharing this! I used your video as a guide to get my minis table-ready and I am very please with the results.
Awesome! If your on social media like Instagram or Twitter you’ll have to share/send me some pics, I’d love to see what you’ve done 👍👍👍
Great ad read 🤣 poor Terminator! Loved the video think I need to pick up Shatterpoint
Perfect timing as I’m staring down these two boxes myself, these videos really help with my own stumbles about my painting ability and really drive home that it’s ok to paint and play. Keep up the great work and also… those adds make me laugh every single time!
This will be a life saver once I get to painting. Thank you.
You are most welcome, 😍👍😍
Really like the post painting reflection and learning points great video thanks guys
Looks easy painting those massive models from everyone painting Legion😜😚Your knowledge and experience really shows and is amazing. The next level touches are exactly that, next level. Thanks
Love this. Working on my Shatterpoint stuff atm. Awesome game.
Thank fot for another great painting video!

Awesome! Super pleased the vids are helping to showcase those skills to help. And yeah it’s great getting back into doing live again
Great work peachy. Love what you guys do, keep it up.
I'm a star wars nerd so when I hear something wrong I explode
I love the chill Deathwing bro in the sponsor-interlude; he seems like he needs a hug!
Great vid. Helped me a lot on Ventriss
Same here. I was having trouble with the color choices.
Looking forward to get cracking on my set, this is a nice place to start!
👍👍👍 sweet! Share the pics when your done on our socials
Another great video guys. Please keep up with the great content!
I'm not in love with the scale of this game, but your paint work is really fantastic Mr. Peach! Asajj Ventress is a real work of art even WIP.
😍🙏😍 thank you Brett
I have missed seeing you. This was a great video and gave me a few ideas as I go forward with my set. Thanks
Aww that’s kind of you to say, hopefully we’ll have a few more painty vids up this month too
Great job peachy doing more for star wars than Disney will anytime soon
😂😂😂
Got my core set assembled and primed. Now it's time to get some painting done
Yeah! Awesome
Absolutely loved this video!!! ❤ I have so much more confidence to tackle my Shatterpoint Core Set now! Love the Star Wars content and it’s all the more appreciated because I know it doesn’t fit the algorithm as well as 40k! Thank you, chaps!! 😁
😍👍 Glad the vids going to help, but yeah the views etc do seem to get hammered when we move away from GW content 🤷♂️
Cool. Good idea on using the larger figures for reference
Gotta love that peachy painting.
The money shot on this one was the slow mo biscuit in the tea....top notch...
thank you for sharing. i prefer star wars models, so this was nice. although I'm not interested in shatterpoint. I do legion stuff. I can use this video to reference how I might paint up Ahsoka when they finally come out with the Clones padawan version.
Great video, love seeing how you approached the boxed set.
However, 20 minutes in... do you want some tea with your milk?!?
Can you tell me what color you used for the battle droids?
Peachy, you got to get youre self some of the ArciveX paints, they are color matches to the 3 first movies (ep4-ep5-ep6) and does so the colors are totaly correct, I have them and I have painted a 1/72 scale millennium falcon model with them, and several other vehicles. Again
Great job Peachy and Pat!
No insult taken, it’s certainly not for everyone like football for me. Thanks for watching though 😍👍
Post-Maul arty biscuit shot was 😙🤌
As a Warhammer fan personally I get sweaty when painting a mini that isn't a space marine
More shatterpoint please 🙏 ❤
Nice work as usual Sir Peach 🍑 🫖
Awesome stuff!
Another great video ❤
These look great! Tempted by Shatterpoint.
This looks easy when you do it. Can’t wait to splotch runny paint and try to fix with crappy white texture on my box 😅
DEATH WATCH IS NOT ASKOKAS TEAM THEY ARE ALLIES NOT CLONES!!!!!!!😅did I say that out load?
Really enjoyed the Star Wars content. The only thing I would have liked is a final shot with all the completed models and scenery. 👍
Are these guys the same scale as the SW legion miniatures?
Shatterpoint are taller, I’d say about 44mil.
Is Mephiston Red a "Dirty Red" or should it be darker?
Painting phase does Shatterpoint 😀 dreams do come true 🤗
I was wondering if/when you'd pick this game up. I'm sorely tempted to get it myself.
Thanks. Now I got to get my older Star Wars stuff out to do 😆😅👍
Sensational
Bob on 👌

Can you do a tutorial for some of your kitbashes like your rebel storm troopers?
I mean there’s always room for kitbashes, those rebel stormtroopers are actually 3D printed minis from skullforge studios, and they do loads of remnant stuff
@@thepaintingphase on kitbashes in general: you could do a Pete the Wargamer parody. Lol
Great Video! Nur Can somebody help me with the colors used in this Video, please? My English is Not the best. 😢
The Osprey book reference for the win.
its a game system I have zero interest in, however the models do looks very nice and this sort of paint guide for "not GW" is very useful for techniques and colour mixes so keep up the good work :)
hint: Battletech could do with some love..
I’m not letting you apply MY lipstick, Peachy 😅
I didn't know Darth Maul had robot legs. He just had pants over them in the movie.
Didn’t become a cyborg until the Clone Wars cartoon, he survived being chopped in half in The Phantom Menace.
@@thepaintingphase WOW SPOILERS ;)
"I'm a historical painter"
How is Star Wars any different, it does take place "a long time ago" after all. 😂
Great video, my group has been thinking of trying this, so perfect refence for us.
Hahaha! You’re not wrong, would it be classed as ancients then lol
That tea looks like rank dishwater Peachy. Get some strength into it man. Great painting btw.
As someone who has no idea about star wars, can anyone explain why the bases seem so big relative to the minis?
A lot of the models are seemingly doing squats to fill up the space 🤣
"I'm not very good at painting am I?" No, you're EXTREMELY good at painting.
Hands up if the spec of dirt on the lens from 5.40 onwards made you wipe your phone screen.
Great video, the game seems like it has some cool rules and interesting gameplay.
I just wish Star Wars wasn't such a wasted IP.
Genuinely curious question, why do you think it's wasted?
I dont play star wars but anything peachy talks about becomes 100% more attractive. maybe its time to go to the dark side...
Hahaha! I’m honoured 😍👍
OMG!! that cup of tea was entirely the wrong colour! it looked weak as pish!!
Wow, the whole of that demo was scrapped//not included on the final result. This isn’t even a full “vertical slice” so I wonder how much time went into its development
Eh?
Eh?
Soooo...why your nuln oil is that beautiful matt, and mine is so fucking glossy?
Don't ask me if i shake it, i do it, for a stupid period of time...
Ahsoka's lightsabres are meant to be white, not blue. Just thought you'd want to know before Stars Wars fans tear you a new one :)
This is clone wars era Ashoka so she's still got blue, box art is all marketed as blue too so I think we're safe. Her lightsabers don't turn white until rebels?
First 😂😂😂
😂👍
I hope shatterpoint fails. What an over saturated niche.
Harder is debatable, lamer is a certainty.
Well then you are lost
Come on …it’s $165 dollars for less than 20 bases and some terrain … painting tutorial was great, but this game will flame out
