Thank you for this free pattern. I'm following your video tutorial, which is for size 3 months. After Row 2, you refer to the total number of stitches for the subsequent rows, and you mentioned 78 for Row 3. And you refer to the written pattern for the remaining rows. However, the written pattern is for size newborn.

It's a really nice and straightforward tutorial - only thing is, I tried the one from your website, which should fit a newborn, and it ended up fitting my 2-year old daughter instead. Used the hook and yarn you reccommended, so don't know where I went wrong :P

Maybe you need to practice finding the right crochet tension 🌺
Hi. Toffiea - I haven’t used this pattern yet but my sweaters, hats, ponchos etc always turn out too big despite using recommended hooks and yarn. I always thought I crocheted tightly, but apparently I don’t. Ah well. I have tried changing my tension and my tightness but it’s burned into my muscle memory and my body refuses to cooperate ☹️. A recent baby beret ended up fitting me 🤣. So now I adjust the yarn and hook (ie: use #3 weight yarn instead of #4 and a G or 7 hook. I can’t say that this will work with everything but it’s worth a try. Good luck!
It does seem to come out much bigger than the sizes given. I made the 3 month old pattern in James C Brett Baby Marble, size 5 hook, and it'll more of a one year old size. My crochet is on the tight side, definitely not loose!
Have you used the correct ply? It’s easy to overlook
Hey everyone. I keeps seeing comments that your project turned out too large. Maybe size down a hook size or two or adjust your gauge. I believe this pattern comes with a swatch so you can adjust your gauge accordingly.
I can’t find the written pattern for this video in the links below. The free version is smaller and uses fewer stitches than explained in the video. Do I need to purchase this pattern that goes along with the video, if so which one should I purchase?

Would it be ok if I did less increasing rows and then continued?
Because when I got to the end of row 13 my cardigan was way too big for newborn size.
I used a 4mm hook instead
Yes that would work perfectly fine. This pattern is very easy to ajust to fit with the yarn that you are using.

You are welcome 🥰 You can use any yarn, but if the yarn is thicker or thinner, than the yarn I am using, the cardigan will be either smaller or bigger than mine. 😊

make 3 DC in each corner, in the middle st of the 3 dc in every corner. if this is unclear, I recommend that you get the written pattern🙂

I think it is more easy this way for beginners, but you can make the Sleeves in rounds if you want. You will have turn after each round to get the same stitch pattern as the rest of the cardigan 😊

I make a turning chain at the end of each row. This does not count as a stitc. You can try reading the written pattern thoroughly to make sure you have the right number of stitches. Or possibly watch the video again.❤

What weight is the yarn? I have bernat acrylic medium or weight 4 yarn. Will that work?
here are the specifications for the yarn I use: Yarn Weight: 2 or Fine / Sport / 5 ply (recommended needle size: US 2.5 / 3 mm)
If you use the yarn you have, you will get a cardigan that is much larger than the one I made 🙂

Hello, this is what I messaged: i bought your baby cardigan pattern and watched the UA-cam tutorial . Im struggling with the sleeves. Please could you let me know why we have to do HDC DEC on row 4, 8, 12, 16 etc? This makes the circumference smaller and smaller the hand doesn't even fit, I don't understand .
