I know not everyone gets on with palette knives but don't give up. They can produce some of the best effects with a little practice. TOP TIP: Make friends with your palette knife by sleeping with it under your pillow! Vincent Van Gough use to 🤔🤔 Until that unfortunate accident with his ear 🤣🤣 Thats it folks my one and only art 'joke'
Great tips to create the misty illusions. It adds the depth very well. Learnt something new today. Amazing work with this landscape with waterfall. Enjoyed the lovely work this morning. 😍❤
Yep gonna have to give this a go now. You should create a page where we can post pics of our version of your/Bob's paintings. I enjoy your tips and examples.
Hi Don, thanks for watching and leaving a kind comment. I'm delighted to hear your going to give this a try. I've thought of starting a FB page for this channel. But things are pretty full on at preset and I'm still looking for the 25th hour of the day! But its on my 'to do' list for sure. Happy waterfall painting Don 😎😎
I'm so glad you liked the waterfall painting! It’s always rewarding to try new things and see how they turn out. Good luck with your drawing! Best wishes - Paul
How did I miss this video? Absolutely beautiful! I love the depth in this and it makes me feel like I'm out in the woods. You really captured that feeling. I was born in upstate NY, lived there for 10 years, and spent a lot of time exploring in the woods. This painting takes me back😊 I've scraped many of my rocks, some multiple times. I'm a bit nitpicky and want them perfect (or close). What starts out as a pebble, quickly becomes a small boulder after too many scrapes😁
Glad you enjoyed it Amy. Oh the rocks that have been scraped and sometimes turned into a happy little camoflage bush. Too many in the early days. Now I just let'em be and give them a nice cosy foliage pillow. Granted the pillow can smother them if they're not my favourites😂
Love the phthalates blue sky! I am going to have to buy that color 😂 excellent tips and amazing palette knife waterfall 👍🎉👏 thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us 👋😍
Hi Annie - yes ph. blue is a stunning warm sky colour and would suit so many of your amazing paintings. I've been playing with some abstracts inspired by you. I'll email over my Moo for you. 😃😃
@@PaulRansonArt sorry about the bad spelling mistakes I sent it before j could correct it oooooppppssssss see you again soon for another great painting.
@@PaulRansonArt Thank you! I painted it today and was pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks again for sharing your talent to help us. And it was very fun! 😀
You are so sweet to watch with a good demeanor and a good sense of humor! You are relaxing as much as Bob Ross did! But I love your way of painting with simplicity of doing things with so nice at ease! I am watching you since one month straight and you got my subscription! I back to paint after 42 years of absence due to an invalidating arthritis! I am having a question for you: Are you a full time painter? Because I am wishing too! You are a so good instructor! Your advices are helpful and precious and easy to follow! 😊❤❤❤ From Quebec in Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for your kind words Danyel! It's wonderful to hear that you're back to painting after so long. I’m not a full-time painter, but I love sharing what I can. Keep at it, and you'll find your rhythm again! Best wishes - Paul 😃🥰😎
Hey Paul, I Just wanted to let you know that I think This painting along with the others are absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!! ~Chris
Hi Paul love your videos they are great. I've been doing these style paintings for a year now and would love to be a CRI but I don't know if they will be doing courses back in the UK again. Anyway I want to ask, do you have any advice on picture frames for the finished painting. I'm trying to find affordable frames for my canvases to fit in but they are either very expensive or are floater frames which I don't really like, I like the frames you have used in previous videos so just wondering, do you know where to get affordable ones from etc. Thanks very much.
Hi Daniel - yes CRI training courses in the UK would be great. Let Bob Ross Inc know your interested and maybe they'll run a course here. Picture framing is very expensive. Many years ago I purchased a frame cutter and under pinner to make my own. This enabled me to produce affordable frames for my students. Good places to look for frames are The Range if you have one locally. Or look at some of the hobby framing equipment. The costs can be quickly recovered. For framing supplies check out Lion Framing or Mainline Mouldings. Both stock huge ranges of materials and machines. Let me know how you get on 😃😃😃😃

Nice technique on the waterfall Paul, never thought of trying the palette knife!
I was never a fan of the palette knife until I painted a whole picture with one. Now its my go to tool after using my fingers as brushes.😃😃
