- Here is my complete guide on how to install, setup and run DOLPHIN EMULATOR (Wii, GameCube, Homebrew and Channel Manager Emulator).
It is VERY detailed and shows you not just how to get YOUR games working, but also configure it to run stable on the best possible settings. I take you all the way to 4k resolution running your games as smooooooth as butter!
I do not apologize for the length of this guide or for the information I give. If you just want to play a couple of your fave games then you may be better using a simple 5 min setup video. However this is made to play and configure ALL games to the maximum setting possible for YOUR PC.
Look forward in the future. I will be covering another tutorial on this Emulator. I want o go into detail with per game configs, Setup of DolphinBar and WiiMotes, controller settings and how to play this on a LOW END PC. I would have included it on this vid... But I thought an hour was enough for now hehehehe!

Emulation for me is not about playing games I do not own. It is about playing games on another platform. In fact on my PC at 4k internal resolution 60fps with one controller... not having 200+ consoles set up with 600+ controllers tangled up!

the amount of progress made with this emulator over the years is insane. ive been using dolphin since 2010 and i remember most of the games i played running at no more than 30 fps. now i run all my games at full speed and almost no bugs. plus i can finally play games that didn't work for years like f-zero gx.

@@korontos9038 nowadays pretty much every game works with no issues. 60 fps even on a modest setup. I don’t use it much anymore though.

Thank you so much for all the info, I have watched your videos to set up my Dreamcast, PS1, and now my GC and PS2 emulators. I have been able to take the info you give and experiment with different plugins, emulators, what have you to get my old games running at full speed on my AMD-A10 processor with integrated graphics, not too shabby if I saw so myself, Thank you so much Mate!
I know How dolphin is desinged to be able to play Both gamecube and Wii but i recon the gamecube is the best feature of all! : ]

I dont wanna run the games at 4k or that exaggerations, I just wanna play at native (480p) gamecube games, my specs are: Lenovo G50-80 cpu: Intel i3 4500u gpu: Intel HD graphics 4400 (integrated) 64mb (up to 1gb shared memory) 4gb ram Windows 8.1
You won't even be able to run 4k, your system literalyl can't handle 4k. Maybe 480p

First thing first hi and thanks alot for your time and efforts! Appreciated, BUT...
Man you're too slow and talking way tooooooooooooooooo much for god sake could you be more specific and get rid of alot of unnecessary ditails? Sorry but your voice isn't that so cute or peaceful neither. Besides you mostly making some cold, irrelevant "jokes" that only you laugh to, it makes your videos much more heavy and painful to watch and follow. Guide and tutorial videos isn't a show and most of people expects it as simple, short and brief as possible. You're not really representing your channel name. Actually most of begginers getting alot confused and overloaded with bunch of redundant info. One hour video only for a goddamn emulator setup for god sake! Might NASA fire up a damn rocket in that time period...
Sorry if I'm rude but please take all my words as an advice, I do respect your time and effort here. Man, you can make at least three video in one hour instead wasting it only for one... Besides most of emulators keep getting update and new features which possibly makes your videos defective and outdated shortly...

I will be waiting for it :) I just used my Super Mario Strikers backup and it was a blast! I am on a lower end laptop with an i3 and built in graphics but was able to enjoy it at native. Im looking to use the G3258 build guide you set up a while ago when I get my Hyperspin set up and ready to go. Keep up the great work and more people will come :)

there are a lot of guides about gamecube config but hardly any for the wii part of dolphin. it's like they all forgot about the other half of this app. thanks for your upload

i know this video is old so i doubt u will see the comment but video legit saved me from a headache getting the newest emulator to work as i could never figure out the remote stuff but it was simply cause i was over thinking it based on other emulators, once i watched ur section on that i felt so stupid lol, made total sense and made me see what my issue was right away and all is good now so again ty :)

Haha, I tried setting Dolphin up by myself before watching this video and I used the same pic of a controller as a guide when mapping the controls! Thanks for the vid - some great tips and observations in there. (Oh, and I'm on Linux and a lot of the guide is still relevant!)

Great video as per usual. I just watched your setup video part 2 (which for some reason i cant find again) and was wondering if a 1080p Dolphin wii would work on the ultimate emulation PC that you where building in a previous video. currently buying the parts you recomended.
Btw, will you be making a followup video to Build the ULTIMATE Emulation PC on a BUDGET. Oh yeah, I'm the guy who built the Guinness Arcade Machine.

Yeah, I put it up and forgot to set it to private while I add the links and wait for it to render in 1080p. I will set it to public in a short while once UA-cam does its thing.
Yeah mate, that will have no problem with any Emulator thats out now, PS2 is the most demanding, but it will play that 100% too. You may even get 4k on this tbh.
However make sure you read the notes on screen for the future proof and what I added in the description. It will run anything FOR NOW 100%, but the new emulators thats coming out... they will demand a lil more ;)

You're my favorite bud. When I first say your video about retroarch I went back and binged like it was Netflix lol. Everything went great on my set up... except, I set the wiimote the exact way you did but no wii games will work. It hangs up telling me to connect a nunchuk. Can you help
I have a 4k 55inch tv and a 980ti with hero VII 4790k. I appreciate your videos. Do you have any words of wisdom about the 8x native (5k) vs 6x (4k)? Is it even worth it? Are there benchmarks about how much more stress is caused by 5k compared to 4k? Thanks!
Hey Bud, love your work. need help. last year, followed this tutorial, you made it easy, worked great. since then, pc crashed and having to get Emus setup again. followed same process, but no mater what i download relating to direct X/3d 9, Direct 3d 9 doesnt show in graphics settings.
i have the June2010_d3dx9_43_x64.cab file, can i just install that? if so how?

Just curious, I don’t know much about computers, but when playing any game, I know it defaults to saving to the appdata into some folder in the C drive, does putting a portable text doc like that in downloaded games keep save data into the folder where the game is downloaded to vs into the app data? Hope that question made sense!

Hey man! Nice work! But I have one question, I have a 4GB RAM and it's at 60-60 so 100% in some parts of some games but it doesn't last long and goes back to 30's and 20's which is non-existent to play this games. Does the memory in my computer matter? I have like 10 GB remaining.

are you using widescreen? looks like it from the black bars you have on the sides. i too am using 21:9 monitor. My question is... is there a setting that will allow me to play it full screen? I know it can stretch it but i'm looking for an alternative to stretching the image. cheers my monitor is the acer predator x34" btw
How come Only certain games work on my computer. Example would be super mario sunshine works fine, pokemon colosseum works fine too, super smash bros melee not so much, sonic battle 2 ehhh, it works then it slows down, XD gale of darkness doesn't even work at all. plus im using dolphin version 4.0-3930 i figured the most updated version would be the best to work. Plus every new version that i get seems to get the games working slightly better. Any suggestions?

I followed all your steps, but I went to a few sights to download games and they wouldn't run on the Dolphin emulator. Who would just say could not find Game Cube/Wii ISO's even though i selected a path for it. Could you tell me if there's something wrong with my configuration or am I just going to the wrong sites?

Hey love the vid, but I have a problem running Godzilla unleashed. Ever time i boot it up a message saying "invalid reading from (a bunch of letters and numbers) PC = (same thing)" this message will keep poping up about 10 times then the emulation will say "Assertion failed at line 75 in file: PScript.cpp. Unable to load module: Shell.pvm." Any solutions?
hey can you help me? I first started dolphin like 1 week ago, i downloaded: Mario galaxy 2, Animal crossing, Mario sunshine and MKW, but i got a new and better pc, so i got my games, i put them to a flashdrive, then in the new pc i got dolphin and put the games to a new folder, and everything was fine! But the banners for Mario galaxy 2 and MKW (the only wii games i had on there) turned into X's, ik it doesn't matter that much, it doesnt affect gameplay, but im very nit picky about my stuff, so is there any fix? Re download the games??

You know, by this point you could be telling me whatever and I'd be plastered in front of my screen watching religiously. Whether it's gaming or anything else really, I just like listening to you speak/explain stuff (you should add ASMR tag on your vids :P). It's the only way I can explain myself staying here for an hour without skipping a minute, instead of actually playing the game...

Im running an i5 2400 a gtx 950 and 10 gb of dual channel ram. When i play emulators everything runs fine but when i try to record with obs with webcam i get fps drops and lags. Ive tried it on n64/ps1/ps2 and Dolphin. If i upgrade to i7 3770 will i be able to record without much fps lag?

Hey Austin could you try something out please. Could you try scarface (Wii) and see if you can enable the balls/rage mode?
I'm currently using dolphin on android (scarface runs at a smooth 30-40fps)
I've tried mapping the triggers as the shake xyz.... Which works as Tony taunts... But it's not entering his balls/rage mode.
I'm so confused :(
