- Nintendo has GONE TO WAR against emulation and DEMANDED that dolphin be removed from the steam store. Does nintendo hate dolphins? Well, yeah, probably. But that won’t stop us will it. No it won’t! Because THIS video will teach you how to install the dolphin emulator on your steam deck, and it’s only going to take a couple minutes. SO get that finger out of your nose, wipe it off on the underside of your couch cushion when your mom isn’t looking, grab your steam deck, and let’s get a little dolphin in our life, shall we?

EmuDeck is also excellent, and auto-sets the ideal configuration and controls as default, for a whole plethora of emulators. Lets you modify them through emulator launch though.

The tutorials have been great so far I just cant find it under community layouts. All i see is a seemingly random page of recently uploaded community layouts and when i try to search it up nothing pops up. Thanks for all the awesome tech vids!

i finally got it working with Spazzos dolphin layout and using start like you mentioned to navigate out of menus, thank you for this video!
many people down in the comments mentioned trouple with the registering keys and controls, how did you get around that

i used spazz0's settings (in community profiles) and used the standard configs from dolphin (did not change any controller settings showing at 3:05). seems to work ok so far

These videos are amazing do you know how to set this up on the legion go? I was trying to play pokémon Gale and I have dolphin simulator ready to go The newest version but for some reason they won't let me start pokémon cuz it talks about a save not finding one and I don't know how to create one properly like I tried to save state I don't know what I'm doing wrong
The issue i had with the steam deck is getting both tilt and swings controls to work on it

@@Cosmicfallsr eh, kinda. I ended up choosing whatever generic profile there was and started tweaking controls based on what made sense or to what I believe he did. It was good enough I guess, but not perfect. If I ever remember to charge it I’ll probably try tweaking again and spending more time with it.
It's a little scary that it's THAT easy to set up... But thanks for the vid! I'm getting a used Steam Deck tomorrow and the emulation aspect was honestly the biggest draw, here.

I started with EmuDeck, and originally through it I could configure controller settings in Gaming Mode. But after trying to reconfigure things in desktop on dolphin natively, it doesn’t immediately boots me of the config screen in gaming mode when I try to press a button.
I know I changed something, but I don’t know how to go back.

Hello I followed everything in this video to play Pikman 1, anytime I accidentally tap the screen or put my steam on rest mode. It not longer lets me have any input, it’s annoying and I have had to restart progress, any idea how to fix?

I haven't updated in a few weeks. They didn't remove Dolphin from the EmuDeck setup, did they? I'd hate to update EmuDeck only to see Dolphin get deleted.
Not that I know of. Just the steam storefront version. EmuDeck is fine as far as I know.
I get programing your buttons manually but why did u go to steam conmunity for a controller configuration when u did it manually anyway?

Hey does the size capacity of the deck affect how fast it runs, for example would 64gb make the emulation slow?

At first, I was thinking of buying the Odin 2 instead of the Steam Deck because of Nintendo demanding Valve to take the Dolphin Emulator down on the Steam Store. But now that there is a workaround, I think I may have changed my mind.
The problem I have is when I close out of dolphin in steam mode and go back into it all the graphics and audio settings have gone back to default do you have a fix for this? Thanks

In desktop mode press L2 in thr box where you have to write 1 and when the Windows opens write in the box below normally with (steam+X) is what I had to do

can't help with the layout but the most liked one might work fine. i had the same issue with the b and start button, i just went to the hotkey settings and cleared the "end emulation" bind

Hmmm. Not sure what to suggest then. Maybe attach a mouse to your deck? Or try configuring it through the desktop mode (so you can use the trackpad)?

How you install games the games
Either download them through the browser on your deck, or add them to an SD card, or copy them to the storage of your device (I copied mine off a hard drive).
Why would you want to do it like this instead of emudeck?

01:29 - Store them on an SD card, or download them right on your deck. Add the folder where you store the games like I show here.
I cant find the layout for controller
I pressed "show all layout" its hotkeyed to X. Then all of the layouts popped up
None of the games are showing up
how about making tutorials on Xenia and RPCS3 instead? Both of those emulators are CHOCK FULL of bugs. (and are confusing)

I had to download older version of xenia because it has issues with my graphic drivers xenia has crashed due too probably internals
I do like Nintendo... a whole lot... but their paranoia is unfunded... They still get money anyway. Real fans do buy their products anyway, since childhood ^^,... and something to be said, their emulation on switch leaves a whole lot to be desired, especially having to be online... There is nothing to be won in this war for Nintendo. It doesn't speak for themselves to annoy even their own fans. Emulation won't make Nintendo disappear.

I end up deleting Dolphin from my Steam Deck because the controls just do not work for me anymore. I tried every possible way: using different layouts, adding it to my Steam library, rebooting it over and over again, but it just would not register the controls and so I had no choice but to delete it permanently. Maybe Dolphin and Steam just weren't meant to be
