World Coming Down is their darkest, heaviest & most serious toned album and my favorite. Peter actually became a born again Christian the last few years of his life, check out These Three Things off Dead Again were he all but declares it...RIP Green Man.
Just an FYI - World Coming Down is *dark*. They played stuff from it live pretty sparsely after the initial tour, I think I remember reading that Peter couldn't handle playing it every night. They played this *once*, and never played White Slavery (about Pete's coke addiction), Who Will Save The Sane, Creepy Green Light, or their (Beatles) Day Tripper/If I Needed Someone/She's So Heavy medley. Great album, but not for times when you're feeling low. Oh, and as always, please check out "Anesthesia." It's my favorite track by them - Peter's vocals (and lyrics) are incredible.
Sadly, Pete was doing a lot of cocaine at that time in his life. Still, tracks like this one could've been on "October Rust Part 2", which would've been AWESOME.
Seen theses guys open for Pantera. Maybe my favorite live show ever. Didn't know much about Type O at the time. Had no idea Pete was such a monster! Pantera fuckin killed it as usual and Pete just kept randomly walking around the stage during their set.
Whatever happened when I discovered and started listening to TON got imprinted in my DNA, their music heals me. Was lucky enough to see them live, Lisbon 2007. 🤯💚
"Summer Girl", their banned unrated version of "Summer Breeze"(cover) is a song by Type O Negative that everyone should hear at least once. I love Type O🖤💚 RIP Peter Thomas Ratajczyk(Steele)
you need to watch their dvds ... normal first and then with commentary... it's the most funny thing ever...hearign a chorus saying "I like big black men" it's amazing
I am a huge Type-O fan but it took a while took a while for this one to grow on me. Initially I heard it several times before I actually listened to it all the way through. I’ll be damned but the first time I listened to the whole thing and heard that jazzy outtro it sealed the deal for me. I really wasn’t expecting to hear that but damn I love it. Cheers!
I loved when Kenny and Peter did this type of back and forth on the vocals, their voices contrast really well. . . And that's Kenny on Guitar, Peter plays Bass
my friend absolutely loves that song. she used to play it all the time when we were in college. personally i can't stand the song, although type o's version is definitely better.
Nate from SpiritAdrift has just brought out an album in tribute to Type O Negative. Band is called Neon Nightmare. He made it because like you said no one makes that kinda sound anymore. It’s great to hear it again in a new perspective.
This album needs to be played through to truly appreciate it it is a masterpiece in depression and is honestly my favorite of thiers as a whole...and no, no one truly sounds anything like Type O. The 69 Eyes comes close.
In Type O, some of the songs are sung by guitarist Kenny Hickey, especially the songs that don't really sound like Peter Steel, so in Black No.1, I know for sure
Peter in his later life converted back to Roman Catholicism. Josh silver played keyboard and Johnny Kelly played drums. Type O's albums from first to last was slow deep and hard, origin of feces, bloody kisses, October rust, world coming down, life is killing me, and dead again which came out a few years before Peter's death.
If you haven't really dived into World Coming Down and Life is Killing Me, you're missing out. Both of those albums are great start to finish. October Rust was my favorite for a long, long time, but if I'm honest with myself now I think it's Life is Killing Me. And that's with Creepy Green Light AND All Hallow's Eve, which are my favorite Halloween songs ever, both being on World Coming Down.
They started out as Repulsion. Then they found out a band with that name already existed. Then New Minority, but they figured that would make too many people mad. Then Sub-Zero (that's when they got the tattoos). After the tattoos is when they heard a band with that name already existed. Peter was driving one day and heard a commercial for the Red Cross asking for..... can ya guess? It fir the tattoos. They tried it and it stuck. That is all PER Peter Steele.
But I always skip this song until I finally let it play and then wonder why the f I always skip it because its so good! Such an amazing song! It is usually the song I play to do my roots because I will let my roots go then I will listen to Black No1 and inspires me to actually finally do them, then I play this song while I do them... Idk why the process is like this, but it is.... every time!
Don't ever say Nevada like that again my friend... I almost raged so hard on my computer keyboard typing this. We don't effin play here.... ahahaha!!!! jk.... Kind of.... But yeah, don't do that... ahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This whole album rules, yall should do the title track world coming down it fuckin kicks ass. Maybe their best album, also shoutout Kenny on vocals that man is awesome and super underrated especially as a vocalist
Peter plays bass. You can see him playing an upright bass like a regular bass guitar on the Black No 1 video. He was 6'8".
They are beautiful. Their music hits the soul. Peter is missed.
I met Peter in ‘08 in Vegas, still have his autographed photo and the pick he used that night
World Coming Down is their darkest, heaviest & most serious toned album and my favorite. Peter actually became a born again Christian the last few years of his life, check out These Three Things off Dead Again were he all but declares it...RIP Green Man.
I’ve heard these three things is about something specific in his life he wasn’t proud of.
@Cosette-pv3tp Partially
Still my favorite band for over 27 years
Just an FYI - World Coming Down is *dark*. They played stuff from it live pretty sparsely after the initial tour, I think I remember reading that Peter couldn't handle playing it every night. Yes, was blasting this on the last of October and of course the other songs on October Rust and World Coming Down.
It was a good month.
Autumn is here after all :)
Haunted is the most epic and heavy song on October Rust, the ending for the album.
Pretty sure Kenny sings a good chunk of this song. World Coming Down is a great album, so many good tracks.
Kenny is so underrated as a vocalist, that man kicks ass
He did alot of the backing with Josh.
Sadly, Pete was doing a lot of cocaine at that time in his life. Still, tracks like this one could've been on "October Rust Part 2", which would've been AWESOME.
Yep Kenny sings a ton here
I don't think Kenny gets enough credit. Sometimes people think it's Peter doing both.
Seen theses guys open for Pantera. Maybe my favorite live show ever. Didn't know much about Type O at the time. Had no idea Pete was such a monster! Pantera fuckin killed it as usual and Pete just kept randomly walking around the stage during their set.
Woot!!! I've been wiaiting for this to be on someone's Halloween list!!
Got to see these guys back in the day, awesome band
Pete Steele RIP
Whatever happened when I discovered and started listening to TON got imprinted in my DNA, their music heals me. Was lucky enough to see them live, Lisbon 2007. 🤯💚
I’m glad I send yall the Children of the Reptile shirts. Love seeing that ‘gear hinge’ on Smoky
"Summer Girl", their banned unrated version of "Summer Breeze"(cover) is a song by Type O Negative that everyone should hear at least once. I love Type O🖤💚
RIP Peter Thomas Ratajczyk(Steele)
I’ve seen them 3 times. Travels afar to see it. The band is amazing.
RIP Peter.
Happy Halloween 👻
Did you see them at Irving plaza?
you need to watch their dvds ... normal first and then with commentary... it's the most funny thing ever...hearign a chorus saying "I like big black men" it's amazing
Yessss! Symphony for the Devil is absolutely hilarious
After Dark is seminal.
World coming down is one of my favorite type o albums its definitely their darkest and most negative.
Smokey is da bomb!!!!!!!!!!
I am a huge Type-O fan but it took a while took a while for this one to grow on me. Initially I heard it several times before I actually listened to it all the way through. Great Halloween song!
Excellent song choice!!! Love this band and miss Peter sooooooooooooooo much!!! 🖤💚🖤💚🖤
You should check out Type O's "Origin of the Feces" album too if you've never heard it.
I loved when Kenny and Peter did this type of back and forth on the vocals, their voices contrast really well. . . And that's Kenny on Guitar, Peter plays Bass
and Type O are four musicians Peter bassist and singer, Kenny Hickey guitarist and partly co-lead singer, drummer and keyboarder
Drummer - Johnny
Keys - Josh
On the October Rust album they did a great cover of Neil Young's song "Cinnamon Girl".
my friend absolutely loves that song. she used to play it all the time when we were in college. personally i can't stand the song, although type o's version is definitely better.
I have 2 of these on vinyl and cd. I love this album.
Nate from SpiritAdrift has just brought out an album in tribute to Type O Negative. Band is called Neon Nightmare. He made it because like you said no one makes that kinda sound anymore. It’s great to hear it again in a new perspective.
Denis Pauna does a great Type O series. You should check it out. Dude sounds eerily like Pete.
This album needs to be played through to truly appreciate it it is a masterpiece in depression and is honestly my favorite of thiers as a whole...and no, no one truly sounds anything like Type O. The 69 Eyes comes close.
Yup Gothic Girl was a good stab.
I just joined your facebook group page. 😊
Type o Negative did a cover of Black Sabbath song Black Sabbath yall need to check that out
Very mellow and dark...
Day Tripper cover too.
Arguably, their best album. Not a single song is subpar.
Happy Halloween On 11/3/2024 !!
We hate everyone from Wacken 2007 was my favorite show to this day, really miss ya Pete.
Halloween and Heaven!!!
Rest in Peace to the Geen Man! Miss u peter!
In Type O, some of the songs are sung by guitarist Kenny Hickey, especially the songs that don't really sound like Peter Steel, so in Black No.1, I know for sure
i love the bridge
Life is killing me is type os best album
World Coming Down is my 2nd favorite Type O Negative album after October Rust
Peter Steele played Bass in Type O Negative.
Man ya'll gotta check out Drab Majesty 39 By Design. Type O for life!

RIP PETER STEELE 🖤💚

Morning guys! Novel 1st and 2nd is also day of the dead:)
I think Anesthesia is their best song, but I also Love Gravitational Constant, as weird as it sounds that sone saved me.
There's plenty of great Type O songs I think y'all would like Blood and Fire from Bloody Kisses or Anesthesia from Life is Killing Me
is blood and fire the song that was also on the mortal kombat soundtrack?
@CroMagJohnson yes
Have you guys done wolf moon? It’s a great song!
💯🔥💚🖤
Gotta see these guys a bit in the 90s they toured with pantera ozzy sepultra
💚🖤
They started out as Repulsion. Then they found out a band with that name already existed.
Then New Minority, but they figured that would make too many people mad.
Then Sub-Zero (that's when they got the tattoos). After the tattoos is when they heard a band with that name already existed.
Peter was driving one day and heard a commercial for the Red Cross asking for..... can ya guess?
It fir the tattoos. They tried it and it stuck.
That is all PER Peter Steele.
You need to react to World Coming Down. Best song on this album imo.
Be my druidess from October Rust next
Yall should totally do the guy pretending to be Type O, covering Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’ 🤣🤣. Hilarious…
Please,World Coming Down next.Thank you.
But I always skip this song until I finally let it play and then wonder why the f I always skip it because its so good! Such an amazing song! I paid 8 bucs to see these guys at a little place called graffiti in the late 90's it held maybe 250 people.. October rust tour
You guys have to do anesthesia by type o negative
u should listen to green man from october rust next
not the singing of a whole song, but parts
Don't ever say Nevada like that again my friend... I almost raged so hard on my computer keyboard typing this. We don't effin play here.... ahahaha!!!! jk.... Kind of.... But yeah, don't do that... ahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cattac is very similar
This whole album rules, yall should do the title track world coming down it fuckin kicks ass. Maybe their best album, also shoutout Kenny on vocals that man is awesome and super underrated especially as a vocalist
Please react to System of a Down soldier side 🇦🇲
Green Man, or Girlfriend's Girlfriend
Not industrial at all. Peter.Steele never played guitar only bass. Do homework boys..Everything Dies has all of them. You are wrong on so.much wow
Goth is an artistic style but not really a genre, the correct genre placement would be “doom metal”
