My husband had a stroke 6 months ago and we can't travel like we used to. He loved driving across the country. Your channel is on almost all day for him, sometimes he'll watch the same videos more than once. He says you are "soothing" to him. Thanks for being you and sharing your journey, it is very healing for both of us on our non-mobile journey.

Living on the east coast in Canada and being surrounded by green trees and grass all summer long, I really cant wait to see the desert south west with my own eyes, only 5 more years until I retire and start my travels....

Traveled the same area 40 years ago on my 2 wheeled horse. I felt like the American cowboy exploring this beautiful country. Still an awesome landscape. Green and trees in the NE are a different kind of beauty as the SW is., but I never felt like a cowboy in the east. Dreaming is a wonderful thing.👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋‍♂️

🙋Hello Russ! Yes it was a picture postcard beautiful day! Sure was funny trying to get that Longhorns attention. Not a care in the world chewing away on his cud. I liked Pipe Springs National Monument, seeing how people lived back in the day. Kanab is a nice little town. Loved the aerial view looking at all the natural colors of the land. Beautiful.👍

You indicated a dirt road that "goes straight down to Grand Canyon" opposite Pipe Springs. I travelled that road for 60 plus miles to Toroweap Overlook in 2002. I camped there for two days within a few metres of the rim. I met a fellow traveller, we shared time together. Wonderful memories. Oldtimer Englishman from Shropshire.

I rode my motorcycle from California to Saint George to visit my cousin back in November 2008 and went here at that time. Went back to show my wife a few years later and had the same tour guide and he still remembered me, even still knew my name. I still have a picture my cousin took of us together. I've been by at least 3 times since I always just enjoy walking around checking things out. Last time they had a couple long horns and a horse in the corral.

Hey Russ, cool visit. The wood looked like oak or ash. Well made doors and roofs. Yes, I suspect the winter weather must have been brutal; but the settlers were tougher than us. Cool wagons with two horse power. I loved the his and hers out houses. I look forward to see Lake Powell.

Hey Russ, you mentioned that movies were filmed around Kanab--there's a museum in town called Little Hollywood with sets and props from some of them. Frank Sinatra and The Rat Pack stayed at the Parry Lodge when they were filming Sergeants 3 just down the road at the Old Paria town site. Legend has it that they partied pretty hard at the hotel after hours.

I look at stone buildings from those days and think someone had to cut and shape every one of those stones, with hand tools! How many of us would want to take on a job like that today?
At 10:34 there's a couch made of slats of wood alternately fastened at front and back. This is a couch that pulls out into a bed, very similar to beds we see in a lot of van build episodes today, beds that serve as a couch during the day! There's nothing new under the sun!

That guide proved once again that it's more important to have an answer than to have the correct answer. The trees on Mount Trumbull grow just as tall as Ponderosa Pine anywhere else in northern Arizona. The forest on Trumbull looks just like the forests around Flagstaff and Williams.

Brand new ruins like only the National Park Service has the secret ... lol ! Life was harder for our Ancestors, that's why we must appreciate the comforts of modern life like roads, cars, electricity, air conditioning and tap water. We all came a loooong way since then. Did you ever visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon ? You're close by. In 1998, I drove up Utah's Gran Escalante National Monument. Let me tell you driving on the "Devil's Backbone" was a scary experiment ! Not a place to have car problems or get off the pavement. Very interesting video, as always. Thank you, Sir ! RICHARD

You are in southern Utah, or were, it’s not to far to Colorado. I would like to see some traveling along the Rt 70 corridor heading towards Denver. Beautiful country through out the summer and fall. I’m from the east, but have spent some time in the high country. May I suggest getting off Rt 70 East at Dotsero, follow the Colorado River a couple of miles and then turning onto Coffee Pot Rd, follow to the end. You won’t regret the journey, and it will be a journey.
