Thank you again for taking me to a place that I will never have the opportunity to visit. I’m afraid my traveling days are over but I still get to travel with your videos. Thank you….Thank you!!!
You know what I like about your channel? Well, besides everything lol...i like that it's about where your going and where your at, not just yourself or fixing stuff or products...you do have some of that a little but not too much. I love everyone I watch that travels, but sometimes some are way too focused on themselves instead of the journey and showing the areas.
He has his promotional videos and I don’t begrudge him that, it pays for all the entertainment he gives us. Also I’m generally sort of interested in that stuff. If life was fair it would be more like $ what network tv people get.
Exactly. I watch lots of travel videos and too often young pretty things make themselves the star attractions. The videos need to be about the views and experience, not about the people behind it. Russ has the perfect mix, enough to get to know him but it's about the travel, not him.
The movie National Lampoon’s Vacation, Stagecoach, The Searchers, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Mission Impossible II was filmed in Monument Valley. Just some of the other movies made here. Great Video.. I wonder if The Looney Tunes got the idea back for the Roadrunner and Coyote cartoons from here. Happy Thanksgiving Russ. Have a Great Turkey Dinner.
It's way beyond our comprehension. how long it took for that vast plateau to be worn down to what we're seeing to day. The monuments are all that's left of it. A geological time duration of millions of years.
오늘도 좋은 영상 감사합니다. 2019년도 방문했던 기억이 납니다. 또 다시 한번 더 가보고 싶네요. Thank you for the great video today. I remember visiting in 2019. I would like to visit again.
Love your video! We were there last year, for the second time. Everyone should see Utah at least once, but they’ll most likely return. God knocked it out of the park with Utah! All praise and glory to Him!
What a beautiful drive. Liked seeing Forest Gump Hill. Just saw the square in Savannah from the movie a month ago. That Mexican Hat is really neat, balanced perfectly. Thanks for taking us along. 🙂👍
Monument Valley, is famous for being beautiful in UTAH, and I remember the film Forest Gum, Tom Hank once ran along this road, while shooting the film Forest Gum. Even though it looks barren, it has its own beauty, like large stone carvings. thank you for sharing and gave information about this valey
Sometime around 2003, I was camping on Mulie Point. I know it's hard to believe, but you can find it on the internet. I saw the Aurora Borialis. It was crazy. No describing it.
hey Russ hope you had a Thanksgiving. Another neat video and Mt valley is indeed something to see thanks again for sharing. just got the latest to cool for school RVerTV sticker for on my SUV. Nice addition to my collection. Take care until the next time.
One of my favorites areas , two times I have been there and I want to go next year, if you have the time go to the “ The View Hotel “ inside the monument valley it’s amazing, thanks Russ for a very good job and let’s see what happens in Moab , thanks from Puerto Rico
Russ, Happy Thanksgiving on the road my friend...Your Videos are outstanding, and I miss home because of you and your travels...I'll be back as they say...
Years ago we camped at the Navajo park in Monument Valley. It rained overnight and after sunrise we had to load our Harleys in the rain. It was like riding on oil. The road down into the Monuments are amazing. The rainy morning had the clouds so low the Mittens looked like ships looming out of the sea.
We drove through there 3 weeks ago. We spent the night in Mexican Hat ang got to see the valley at sunset and sunrise. Perfect weather when we came through
Years ago I just entered Zion and Bryce and ran into sleet and hail. Not good when on 2 wheels. Ended up on the Mexican border to warm up. Never got back until now. Sure looks too cool for school. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🦃🙋♂️
Thanks Russ! On my bucket, but my health is fading fast. Very grateful you shared this one, as with so many more of your thoughtful presentations. Happy New Year
In 2013, I took this exact photo that you show @ 6:45 in your video : Utah Route 163 looking south towards Monument Valley. I didn't know it was Forest Gump's "last mile" ... lol ! You can access the Navajo Tribal Park (it used to cost 5.00 US$ to enter) and tour the site alone or with the help of a local Navajo guide if you wish (at an additional cost). In 1981, I toured the site alone and got stuck in soft sand with my truck. I was lucky to carry iron "Traction Aids" and a shovel with me and I was able to get out of trouble all alone. Route 191 takes you to "Canyon de Chelly" where you can admire "Spider Woman" tower, a marvelous sight. Extraordinary part of the World to discover and explore. Cheers. RICHARD
A few years ago we were in Monument Valley after a huge snowstorm. It was just incredible! I think there was a law, years ago, that if you were making a Western movie, you had to film at least some scenes in Monument Valley! If cowboys were driving a herd of cattle from Abilene to Kansas City, they'd go through Monument Valley!
Just north of the Mexican Hat rock formation is a turn off to the west for Gooseneck State Park. This small park is an absolute must see. It overlooks the switchbacks of the San Juan River as it proceeds to Lake Powell after flowing through the small town of Mexican Hat. You will not be disappointed. The geographic features are stunning. It's only a few miles off Hwy 163 and is paved the entire way. The state of Utah has a minimal vehicle fee to enter this park. It's a small price for what you'll experience.
Was there at the end of October. I stayed a night at goosenecks state park right outside of Mexican hat. Also drove the Moky Dugway. It was a great trip.
Interesting land scape since I have never seen it. Now I can't believe you stayed at KOA. So, I seen where people need to stop. This was starting close to east side of Grand Canyon. It's not that far few hours drive. Even close to where you say you're going be do able in day easy enough.
Wow that is way cool Russ thanks for the tour don’t know that I’d make it over that way but sure nice to see it you do such fine job videoing hats off to you… Lol no pun intended… Talk soon
Well, Thanks a lot!! Another Bucket List item. Absolutely beautiful country. I have been watching your videos for awhile. I think this one is my favorite. Just incredible scenery. I checked it out.
Gotta love how they featured an altered version of Forest Gump Hill in Monument Valley with CGI giant balancing rock formations ontop of the real spires of Monument Valley, and then CGI destroying Monument Valley complete with swaying and seasawing balancing rocks for the film San Andreas during the great earthquake scenes!!!!
Close to Mexican hat Rock headed north on 163 there's a road you can turn left and it goes over to a real tall Cliff face and a road zig zags up that Cliff face to the top or if you come from lake Powell Direction you can come down the cliff face it is one hell of a view up there and a little bit of a white knuckle slow roll coming down the cliff face. LOL road is plenty wide though for two cars Plus extra you're just so far up it gets to you.
Too cool for school. I’ve driven from Monument Valley through Mexican Hat to Moab and you are absolutely right recommending this drive. You’ll see the monolith rocks from Monument Valley in the rearview mirror for some time. The only thing not seen were Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote 😉
I always thought about coyoty roadrunner cartoons and how the animators must have spent time here.
I was there just two weeks ago. Have a picture of my 66 Cadillac at the Forest Gump spot.
Hey Russ! 🙋 That's a beautiful area. Nature made her own outdoor museum. You're a fun tour guide. Makes the ride along extra enjoyable. Thanks! ❤️
Thank you again for taking me to a place that I will never have the opportunity to visit. I’m afraid my traveling days are over but I still get to travel with your videos. Thank you….Thank you!!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm thankful for all the gorgeous God-given nature in the US. Gorgeous video Russ.

The clouds are beautiful. They add another dimension to the views.

Russ, Happy Thanksgiving on the road my friend...Your Videos are outstanding, and I miss home because of you and your travels...I'll be back as they say...
Pretty country around those parts. Here in Minnesota, our hills mainly consist of parking lot speed bumps.
Take care!
Watching Mail Call in between rv er tv just to get me on track
Hi Russ, my FAVORITE place in the world. We actually went to Mexican Hat in 1988. From Los Angeles, Ca
Years ago we camped at the Navajo park in Monument Valley. It rained overnight and after sunrise we had to load our Harleys in the rain. It was like riding on oil. Burping up Turkey feathers now while getting pounding by heavy rain. Nice scenery over there!

Valley of the Gods is nice to check out too.
