    Will this cause any surging issues when paired with the cold air intake? Have a 2017 that only has the derringer tuner so far. Thanks

      @WCFab  3 місяці тому

      If you're planning to run the Derringer tuner, we recommend keeping the OEM intake horn in place as the modifications that it makes to the engine parameters are based around a stock horn profile and will perform best with that setup in our experience.

    Is there a good install video?

      We don’t have an install video, but in the link below we have published detailed instructions for both the 17-19 and 20+ L5P which might help answer your install questions:

    What happened to the part with the PCV reroute?? Do you guys not make them anymore? Kind of defeats the purpose.

    • @WCFab
      @WCFab  10 місяців тому

      Thanks for your question. The parts shown in this video with the PCV port are the only versions we have available. The design intent of our turbo intake horns have always been about removing unnecessary restriction from the air flow path along the intake tract to the turbo to help improve engine performance and efficiency. The current production version of these horns offer the best compatibility with the widest possible range of trucks from stock to modified.

      So you don't manufacture them anymore. Right. @@WCFab

    Can installing this in a stock
    Truck affect the truck negatively

      Our horns are compatible with stock trucks and require no tuning for use. However, you will see your best performance gains when combining them with aftermarket tuning and larger turbochargers which allow your engine to receive maximum benefit from the increased airflow provided by this horn. We do NOT recommend running our horn on lifted trucks with larger wheel and tire combinations that have NOT been properly re-geared for the larger tire diameter and/or do NOT have engine and transmission tuning to help elevate cruise RPM and shift points to compensate. The L5P trucks operate very close to compressor surge line in stock form and shift OEM controls strategy is intended to help maximize fuel economy by keeping RPMs as low as possible. When you install a set of larger tires but don't compensate for gearing, you effectively reduce the final drive ratio which will pull your operating RPMs lower and cause a higher load lugging situation which pulls your engine and turbo below the surge line. If you have specific questions about whether this part is right for your application, please give us a call at 630-277-8239 and one of our specialists would be happy to assist you further.

    What does this do for sound, currently running banks Ram air? Thanks

    • @WCFab
      @WCFab  Рік тому +2

      You'll pick up some turbo sound by swapping out the factory horn for our setup, but the major benefit for this piece is in air flow potential for top end performance. If you want to maximize turbo intake sound compared to stock, running our horn together with our fabricated aluminum intake setup will provide you with the most noticeable difference.

      Aluminum intake set up? Is that the same as Banks Boost tubes. Thanks for the information

    • @WCFab
      @WCFab  Рік тому +1

      @@scottwillis2812 no, we're talking about the air filter / intake setup itself prior to the intake horn not the intercooler piping, but you would notice a bit of sound difference with installing a set of our L5P intercooler pipes as well. You'll pickup more resonance and sound from an all aluminum intake than you will from a plastic setup. Not sure what year L5P you have, but here's a link below to our 17-19 L5P intake video for reference: ua-cam.com/video/An-EBsl8XqM/v-deo.html

      It is a L5P 17, currently run all Banks products except oil cooler upgrade. Looking forward to adding your products to my truck. Horn and down pipe next!
