The time has finally come. After many requests and years of planning I finally felt I was able do this classic Mayer track justice. Slow Dancing in a Burning Room is the quintessential clean Stratocaster single coil tone, with a riff as iconic as the man himself. I hope you enjoy my take!

Hey Sean, thanks so much. I've found out who, how and what you do. Just outstanding to say the least. Oh and I'm a bassist that love this cut. Play de music big man....
@@danielgore861lp❤❤❤
If this man lived 40 years ago he’d be an international superstar
probably not if only thing that he does is covering others :D
Like John Mayer is now 🙃
I doubt without the acces to modern day music theory etc he'd be this good
Why? He is good, but there is thousands of others equally as good. It all comes down to timing and luck
Agree. In this there is music, above all else, transending notes n technics. Its this guy and Sharp, that I’v heard playing guitar as it should be.
I find it kind of funny that John Mayer’s fan base is compromised mostly of either teenage girls or guitarists 😂
And virgins
@@adf286damn
And people who love the blues. And people who love the Grateful Dead. Oh…and people who love melody. And rhythm….and harmony. And vocal licks. And good music.
@@adf286we are pure people for sure
I'm sure he has gained a lot of deadhead as fans cuz he's killing it
I wish this never ended. That outro solo was a homerun. Class
Cheers!
Let's count them down.
1. Amazing playing
2. Hitting each note on point
3. Yep, he has the guitar face.
Dilly Dilly to you sir
Absolutely insane phrasing, bending precision, octaves playing, SRV/Mayer-style rake sound, tone, improv skills, the list goes on. this is the BEST cover of any Mayer song I've ever seen. No actually, the best cover of any song I have ever seen. I will download this video as an audio file and put this into my mp3.
Thanks a lot!
Mr. Tabs for me
There are some 'Comfortaby Numb' covers here on YT to explore for your list ☝️
I actually felt the room get less airier when this ended. Absolutely gorgeous performance.
Damn. That's a two live versions of slow dancing in a burning room in one cover. What a beast!
You and Jamie Harrison r the best guitar strat yt, Jamie does an amazing cover of this and I have no doubt u will too
Jamie's is good, but I find this far superior
I think so too
Nah pilky is the goat
@@InzaneFlippers Ah, the Pilky version is great too
@@JimmyKay1976 I mean, Jamie’s is a lesson demo so he’s trying to play as close to the live recording as possible. I bet he’s playing amazing covers like this behind the camera regularly. Sean’s cover is great too tho.
This man is a good guitarist
🙌
JM's C minor pentatonic improv in this song is just next level.
Sean that INTRO was Perfectoooo.... keep it up, man. Cheers!!!

John Mayer is dog$#1
I don’t no why…I enjoy this more than the original 😍
I like covers such as these. You can really hear he totally dived in to the playing style and tone of John. Not just a cover, just perfect.
Demonstration of why the strat is an adored guitar. It's just so sweat of played right, that can't really be replicated without being a direct copy of. Great playing dude.
Little reverb and Overdrive is all a Strat ever needs. Though this is not a Fender.
@@farwoodfarm9296 looking at the Fraser website I reckon their strat style guitars would be better than a Fender. Very nice!
This is great! You didn't make a cover of Jamie Harrison's version, you didn't do a carbon copy of Where The Light Is. You made it your own and took bits and pieces from Mr Mayer's various performances and threw in your own playing into it. You did a cover while making your own unique version. Top notch sir. Top notch🏆
I know right, I was so happy to see various bits from other performances, I heard a lot of similarities between this and john’s rock in rio set.
🙏
I actually remember an interview john Mayer did where he said he preferred people to make their own thing from it. Follow the basic structure of the songs if your covering a song but use your own chord voicing and feel.
I really dig that little muted rhythm run starting @4:05. It’s got a Tomo Fujita vibe to it
The UA-cam algorithm finally had a win today via introducing me to this Sean’s channel , dude can play
Yeah buddy!
I´ve seen a lot of JM covers, but well, let me say this was the best one so far. It was even better than the one of Jamie Harrison in my opinion. Holy shit
Hey there. So... I'm 55, and ..you know..we've all been doing this for a long time. And there's something about a stratocaster in the right hands that always tears my focus away from all the other important things I should be doing, and it just resonates in my bones. I e played many different instruments and I gotta say...it's the strat that I wanna hear. Well done Sean Mann . I love everything I've be heard from you.
Perfectly articulated from another old rocker...there's nothing like getting in the zone with my tube amp and letting it rip!
Man, you are singing with your guitar better than any vocal.
Oh he could make a living as a studio musician the rest of his life, but you watch Clapton and bonamassa will have him on stage with them some day, he is passed the next level, I'm shocked I just came across him, so glad he doesn't have tattoos on his face and a nose ring, he is a handsome clean cut musician, I'm proud of him.
If ever John had competition on his own song, man, this would be it. Wow.
Definitely the best cover of this I’ve heard. So smooth and flowing, no “stops” or pauses dancing through the chords. Love it
That little part at 5:15 from the Rock in rio solo has got to be the best lick I've heard
Pretty easy run actually.
@@UTAH100really?
@@muditsingh5686 Actually yes, for sure. I could literally teach it to you in about 15 minutes- then if you practiced a few days, you could do it. It's just a pattern called a Pentatonic Box shape. It's hard to mess up honestly. If you never played it seems really hard. Before I played (over 20 years now), I was like you. I would stand at the end of a stage, mouth open saying that is IMPOSSIBLE and I could NEVER, EVER do that. Today I can.
I have taken Seans lessons. He is an excellent player and can play some things better then I can- but again, this little run is very simple. Even he will tell you that. If you pay attention closely, he is mostly repeating many of the same notes, at the same place on the neck and using a hammer-on, pull-off technique so it appears fast and difficult. It really is not.
If you dig guitar, you should consider giving it a try- take some lessons. I recommend a site called TrueFire. I still take lessons and love this site- also Zombie Guitar is great. In person in the beginning helps a lot. If you want to see something really hard to play- dig on this: ua-cam.com/video/S33tWZqXhnk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TommyEmmanuel%2CCGP
Probably the best strat tone ever.
Playing is awesome like a warm blanket with a double espresso...and nothing can beat a TS9...great quality and affordable
Jamie harrison was the benchmark for me in this style, you just crushed it, your touch is out of this World, congratulations, sir, hats off
Cheers man!
When the cover is better the John
Gorgeous playing!😃😍
Thanks!
7 minutes of pure gold, well done man

Cheers Justin!
masterpiece
breathtaking, I have no more words.
I remember asking you on Instagram when the cover for this song is coming and you said soon. Well, it was worth the wait. This is beautiful.
🙌🙌🙌
Absolutely amazing cover. You got all the little nuances and thats amazing in itself. But also, you captured the essence of the song. Thats what is hard, is to capture that while adding your own self into that song and how you portray it through your own ears. Wonderful job👏👏👏
This guy belongs to another world. May he came from heaven cause that's the only explanation I can reach for such beautiful feelings burning inside me. Thank you so much for this piece of art. You have wings, buddy. Never forget.
🙏
Congratulations on getting 1 million views

Beautiful guitar tone & great play!
The bridge was so cool. I've never heard someone play it like that
boi. I just discovered your channel. I love your intimate style of playing. No singing, no experimental timing changes, no bs. But within every song something of your own. Something of your soul. Love it. Could listen for hours.
You deserve so much more than 100.000 subs.
Well done Sean. A very tasteful and passionate rendition of a modern classic. The tone, playing, and the production are spot on. Look forward to hearing more of your stuff soon.
