I drive almost all of the newer model SUV vehicles with my work. I do many hours of driving. The Mitsubishi is so far ahead of any other SUV. It’s so good I went and purchased one. So much to love about this SUV. Cost less to service than probably all of the other makes. 10 year full warranty. Fuel economy is incredible. And it’s made in Japan.
Sounds like a sweet job. It definitely would help with making a decision on what car to buy. We loved the Outlander too. Especially in this colour. What colour did you go with?
I would probably purchased white if I had more of a choice. I went for grey and looks so good. I purchased the 2nd model from the bottom. Because I use it as a work SUV and my cars have a hard life. Driving on dirt roads beaches and long road miles. It’s set up for television news . And carries about two hundred kgs of equipment in the back. Love this SUV
We have A 23 Outlander SEL Touring traded our 14,786 Mile SE and love our Mitsubishi! The Third Row is built for Miniatures (Children under 90#) S Octogenarians, we keep The Third Row folded Down and Enjoy The Car that We rate one of The top Ten Vehicles We Owned out of 122 Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles since 1957.
122 cars? Blimey! :) Thanks for watching and for sharing your insight. We love hearing from viewers and owners as well. Keep on driving. Here is to many miles until you purchase number 123! :)
I just bought a ‘22 and love it, but I do agree the third row is nearly useless. There’s no spare tire because of a tiny third row that to use you need to move the second row up so far they have no space at all
I just learned that if you shift the first row and second row forward a little, you will have room for 2 adults in the third row. There's also a second adjustment in the third row that reclines the seats. For a more comfortable third row ride.
Many of those who never thought of mitsubishi as their next car to own.. now considers it because of you two. Then go watch scotty kilmers review of this vehicle and the next thing you know is you're already ordering one.
Ok let us ask you this, why are they better. We really liked the Outlander. But Mitsubishi isn’t a big brand in North America. We would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for sharing. Was there much of a wait time for your PHEV? What’s your favourite part of it? We love hearing from owners. Thanks again Lorraine. Enjoy your nice new ride.
I have been a fan of Mitsubishi for awhile now and currently own a couple of them. They have been great vehicles for me and my family and have been absolutely reliable. They made some bad decisions in the 2000's and the whole economy taking a dump around 2008-2010 didn't help. The new outlander is proof Mitsubishi still has fight in them and proof that can build a quality vehicle. I am seeing a lot more new Outlanders on the road which is nice to see. Great video!
We completely agree with everything you said. Since doing this review we have taken notice to more Outlanders on the road. It’s a great vehicle and provides amazing value and classy style. You picked a good brand to fall in love with. Thanks for watching and for taking some time to comment. We appreciate it
Wrong. 2024 Outlander owner here. One of the worst cars ever. Riddled with design flaws. Security system can easily lock you out. Putting the car in nuetral is cumbersome. The car doesn’t always start on the first push. 3rd row is a waste. 2nd row seat adjust is behind the 3rd row. Very odd. 4 cylinder engine is sluggish. Driver seat doesn’t push back far enough. Too many flaws. Go with a Toyota.
I rock the 2024 Outlander SE Black Edition and OMG I never thought I'd like a Mitsubishi as much as I do. Comfortable. Quiet. 3rd row for small kids when needed. Lots of room. And it LOOKS GOOD!!!
Mitsubishi is equal or better then other Japanese brands, remember that Mitsubishi is a famous Air Force manufacturer. A lot of innovative features. Follow dealer service intervals and happy snoozing.
I got myself a 2023 SEL trim in the states and love it! For what you pay, you get way more than the competition. I love the fact that the rear door opens up almost a 90 degrees better that RAV 4. You won't regret it!
Thank you for mentioning that. It’s a huge feature for anyone with child seats. It makes life a lot easier. Enjoy your nice new ride. You picked a brilliant machine.
I bought the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander SE. The back seats are made for small people, not the regular larger people. So with that in mind, being retired and rarely have anyone else but my Yorkie with me, pulling kayaks & the occasional utility trailer, this car is perfect for me. I traded my 2017 Outlander SEL for it. Got $15,000 for it. Bringing the price of the 2023 down to $23,000. I have yet to see how it runs in the rain or at night, but I'm sure that'll come soon enough. It's a great car for My Own use and gets me from point A to point B and back nicely. And if the rear seats bothers anyone, for those who design the next car, how about making the car another foot longer, giving the third row a little more room. Thanks for reading.
Thank you so much for sharing. We hope your are enjoying retirement. Between pulling a trailer, kayaking and being with your Yorkie, it sounds like you are. :) A little bit longer would solve the third row issue. Most people commenting state that they never use it. That makes sense, but even in a pinch, it would still be nicer to have a bit more space back there, or even have the option of a third row. We hope you enjoy your Outlander. Do you like it better than your previous Outlander? Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. Have a great weekend mate.
I've owner so many Mitsubishi...1999 Eclipse, 2003 Eclipse Spyder, 2008 Eclipse, 2015 Lancer AE...my wife has owned a 2012 Lancer, 2016 Outlander, 2022 Eclipse Cross (currently owned), the only repairs across ALL those vehicles were a thermostat on the 1999 Eclipse and a motor mount for the 2003 Eclipse Spyder...ALL those vehicles and the total cost of repairs was $40 or so. So reliable, never had issues with any of them. I love Mitsubishi as a brand, and though I currently own a 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6R I'm missing owning a Mitsubishi.
Ok, now let us ask you a question. Where do you live? In North America Mitsubishi isn’t as popular as it would be in places like Australia. We think the Outlander is a brilliant vehicle and should not be missed when looking for something reliable. Thanks for sharing. Which Mitsubishi has been your favourite?
@@HoodSlappersOfficial Oh my favorite was the 1999 Eclipse, the only one I've seen in person ever was the one I owned lol. I've seen a few 95-99 Eagle Talons though (rebadge).
Oh very cool. Is it still going strong? And what are the kilometres on it? We definitely recommend the Outlander to anyone looking at this segment of car. But you already know that. :)
@@HoodSlappersOfficial very good rig I have 140k miles and nothing but maintenance I get 17 -20 mpg and it is smooth riding and a beast in the snow here in Maine. Thank you for your review both informative and entertaining and I am certain you've convinced a good many to buy one. Cheers !
This video is the most honest, clear and concised review I found so far. This helped me see a different perspective on how I used to look at this car. Thank you.
I love everything about my 2022 SEL OUTLANDER.......I have NO complaints. I needed a third row for the kids and didn't want a turbo or the start/stop technology that everything else has...I love the aggressive looking front end ! ! ! !
Thanks for watching Bob! We believe everything you say and love your enthusiasm. But honestly, that third row? Haha. Only kidding. Thanks for watching. You picked a good one.
Nice, I was looking to buy for a 3rd road seat at Nissan Pathfinder, Honda Pilot, and even the crysler Pacifica. But this looks beautiful. Omg I just remembered my 2nd car was Mitsubishi 😢 back in 08
@@HoodSlappersOfficial outlander has more power and faster than the outback , it does not lag going up hill compared to subaru has a hard time going up hill. The drive of the outlander is smoother than outback . Also had 3rd row seats
@@HoodSlappersOfficial We came from a 2007 mazda cx9 where we use the 7 seats esp. when we drive from Kelowna to Vancouver and we are able to fit 2 families or 7 people comfortably. As for the outlander, we were able to use the 7 seats driving around the city, but it was not comfortable due to the leg room. So I dont see using the 7 seats for long drives. To answer your question, i wont be using the 7 seats that often and not as often anymore as what i did with my CX9. However, it is just good to have during times i need to sit 7 people within the city.
I had a 2008 Outlander with AWD - was probably the most amazing terrain system in a car I've ever experienced. I could drive in any weather condition and feel confident. I had my car for about 6 years - never had an issue (I traded it in for a more sporty car). Now that I'm older - this new model has truly piqued my interest. Thanks for a great review!!
Hey not a problem. Thanks for watching. If you liked your 2008 you should definitely at least look at the new one. It completely surprised us for all the right reasons. If you do take one for a drive, let us know what you think. Thanks again.
*The PHEV version of this thing IS the best equipped vehicle to ever be sold in canada, (For its price and type, which last I checked was 42K, thats the important part)* It has rally road racing Super all wheel drive, which is lifted strait from their rally cars. This makes it effectively a high speed off road vehicle. It can go head to head with a jeep and win. You REALLY notice this on snow and mud. It can go like 60-100km depending on how you drive it on electricity. It can get between 4.5L/100km to 8L/100km when its out of power, depending on how you drive it. If you drive it really well, you can just drive continuously at 4.5L/100km. In the manual, it sais it can tow 10000 pounds, although it sais 2000 is a "safe" tow because of its braking. It can go from 0 -60 in something around 7.2 seconds (Dont quote me on that, but its a cannonball) It has 7 seats Its base model comes with TWO 1500Watt outlets. In all other hybrids, they make you cut off your leg and give it to them for that. Thats in the base model. Its base model comes with a 64amp chadmo that can be used to power your house. There are only 2 other cars that can do that. The Ford lightning, and the Nissan leaf. But the ford on requires special ford stuff. The chadmo for this will be here in the second quarter of this years term. Or you can just jimmy rig a ford one if you cant wait. The thing truly sticks to the ground. All four wheels are independently controlled. At high speeds, the engine stops generating electricity, and just connects to the ground directly through the front wheels. Then, any additional energy it makes goes to the back wheels as electrity and charges the battery. This is significantly more fuel efficient than running on electricity at high speeds. It allows the car to be efficient and powerful at every speed. It is an Atkinson's engine, which means in eco mode it just runs at its most efficient gas to energy speed until you reach 110kmph, at which point it connects to the road. Yes Toyota has more fuel efficient engines. But their price and 5 year waiting time makes that irrelevant. Its 20kwh battery qualifies for the full electric rebate It strait crushes all other Hybrids on the market with the exception of the KIA Niro (Which is a minimalist hybrid that values space, and so makes its own independent case), and the RAV4 Prime (But youll never get one, and its only around 15% better at its core jobs. Missing all the other features). It does not make sense to buy most electric cars against this price point and feature crowding. Its one of the biggest electric drivien vehicles on the market. Its not tiny. Yet it gets the energy ratings of a tiny car. Base model has car following Some things its bad at: If you want to drive in the winter time with just the battery, you cant turn on the fans. Turning on the fans turns on the engine, even though you dont need it. This means that you need to make a choice between not seeing out your windshield, or burning gasoline for no good reason. The overlooked that for sure. It will not connect the engine to the road until your battery is out of power, and so will needlessly waste energy until that point. Its definatly a bug. I think thats everything :P
This is awesome. Well, it’s settled. If we get the chance to review the PHEV we will be contacting you. Thanks so much for watching. This is great information and will help anyone interested and in the market. Have a great weekend and keep up your enthusiasm.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial Kinda a shame that almost nothing they wrote was true. And that bits that came close to true were only close, not actually straight up true. That said, the Outlander *is* a solid vehicle design and outstanding build.
I have purchased three Outlanders. The third row seating is great because the seats fold down. I can get everything I need in that extended trunk. I’ve even carried 7’ boards home from Home Depot! Why pay so much for a base model elsewhere when you can pay the same and get a fully loaded model. However, I have noticed a depreciation value which has been the biggest bummer. Also, I transport for child services and can get 6 car seats in mine. :)
That's fantastic! Thank you so much for commenting and sharing that. Don't tell everyone what the Outlander can do, they might start asking to borrow it. Or worse, ask if you can help them move something for them. ;) Keep enjoying your Outlander. We loved it and were very impressed. You made a great choice. Have a great day and thanks for subscribing. It means a lot.
We own a 2022 sle touring love this thing way better than the rav 4 .third row is small but great for the grand children. We live in Maine this thing is a beast in the snow can't say enough about it
We definitely agree those seats are for kids. :) Thanks for watching We loved it and in that colour it looks so nice. We didn’t have snow tires on it, but even without, it did well in the snow. Thanks again Chuck. Have a great rest of your weekend.
You guys are hilarious 😂, thanks for this video, I’m test driving one on Monday , and never even considered a Mitsubishi until I accidentally saw one on the internet while looking for S.U.V’s, love the look, and the price compared to others in its class.
Cindy! Let us know what you think of it after your test drive. We would love to hear from others experiences. Hopefully you were able to get some good insight on the Outlander along with a few laughs. :) Thanks for saying hello! Have fun on Monday.
I went looking for a new car in summer 2023 with my heart set on a CRV or Sante Fe. I was disappointed in both because of small interior. By chance, a 2022 Outlander was in dealer lot and the moment I sat in it, I was hooked. I had my teenage son (6') with me to judge back seat room. The space in first and second rows is great. My 6'3 husband is comfortable driving it. It handles like a dream in snow. When in Eco drive mode, I often get 30 MPG. The exterior is beautiful..doesnt look like every other compact SUV and I often get complements. I love the headlight design-fierce looking. As an Uber driver, I am often complemented on the interior and room-except for 3rd row. It may as well not even be there. When 3rd row seats are up, there is absolutely no cargo space. Another downside is front cabin configuration. There are really no compartments for stuff, and ergonomically is a poor set up (I kind of have to reach backward into middle console and for drinks in cup holder). Also the Park and Reverse functions is a terrible design. In the US, most vehicles shift into park by pushing lever all the way to top position. In the 2022 that is Reverse. Park is a button. Very dangerous. When I first got the vehicle, out of habit I shifted all the way to top to park, and because it went into reverse, nearly knocked down my son with the door as he was getting out of car. A person could easily get backed over because of this! So that takes a little getting used to. Still, the pros outweigh the cons, and I likely will be looking at newer models when the time comes, hoping for upgrades/updates on storage and the whole shifter thing.
Thank you so much for sharing. The Outlander is a hidden gem in the automotive world. We appreciate your insight on it and appreciate you discussing both pros and cons.
Looks are a little odd in the front but you cannot find a better value for the money. You get a crazy amount of features and a really upscale interior for a fraction of what you pay for these days features and interior quality of other brands
See, we liked the looks. Different enough that it doesn’t look like everything else out there. Minor resemblance to a Discovery, but when was the last time you heard that about a car. Mitsubishi did a nice job. And you are right about value. There is a lot in the Outlander. Good value. Thanks for watching.
We had a 2018 Outlander and was a great vehicle, when we traded my Forester I would have purchased another but 2 problems the 3rd row is a bit small and the dealer network in my area has went from 4 to 2 so I get worried about how effective warranty claims would be if those close… Went with a Subaru Ascent instead. Both are wonderful vehicles!
We Purchased the Black Edition at $33,500 about 10 months ago and it is nicely equipped... Has android auto and apple car play, Panoramic roof, AWD, huge Black alloy rims.... I wish we could have purchased the PHEV but it was not out yet.... The other problem was availability.... We only waited for about 2 weeks for the Black Edition... The fully loaded version at $38K at the time was impossible to get. Also we get about 31 miles a gallon....
The PHEV would be nice, but getting a vehicle sooner than later is good too. Enjoy it. It really is a great vehicle. Just watch that third row. It’s a doozy. ;) Thanks so much for watching. Enjoy your Outlander
Hired a Rav 4, CX-5 then an (old shape) Outlander LS. Fell in love with the Outlander, so purchased one, 2022 XLS petrol. My eMTB fitted slightly better in the Rav, slightly worse in the CX-5. But the Mitsi is light years ahead in handling and features, and also a lot cheaper. My wife and I sometimes fight to use this car over our older, smaller cars. This car makes us want to go away on weekends!
Well I bought a 2023 ES Outlander because I didn't need the 3rd row & in exchange for that, I get a full size full time spare wheel. I'm in Australia & we have a lot of remote country here, so this is a preferable feature here. Though it doesn't feel like it, it has oodles of power and gets up to speed surprisingly quickly. You won't have idiots trying to pass you when the speed limit changes, because they simply can't do that without looking like idiots. The car doesn't feel like it is going as fast as it actually is. This can be a trap at first, so watch your speed. Maybe it's because of sitting up so high or the suspension making the road very smooth, or perhaps because it is so stable & hangs onto the corners with such assurance & ease. Very noticeable more stable & relaxed cornering than any car I have previously owned. The one bad thing I have found so far is the tow bar is inches lower than it needs to be and its design limits departure angle to a ridiculous amount. It bottoms out on very ordinary suburban driveways. I have had a tow bar on every car I owned over the last 50 years. This is the worst one yet, worse than my Kia Cerato, worse than my saggy VR commodore etc. Total design fail on the tow bar, it could easily have mounted the tongue 2-3 inches higher as there is no structure in the way, only a bit of plastic bumper to cut out. I would have preferred if the roof wasn't as tall, as that would have made loading roof racks oh so much easier for smaller people like me. My wife & I had looked at earlier models thinking oh that's OK. So the height of the 2023 model was a surprise we had not realised.
Thanks for sharing Ken. It’s funny, Mitsubishi I a much bigger brand in Australia than here in Canada. Hopefully they start to build more momentum here with the Outlander because it’s a great machine. I just read today that the plug in Outlander is the best selling in Canada right now. So we will see where this takes Mitsubishi. Thanks for the comment. Happy trails
I love this car! I remember the day I saw it at the dealer. It was early 2022 and we went to the dealer to look at a used Pajero. When I saw this new Outlander, I never thought of Mitsubishi the same way.
Oh it completely opened our eyes to Mitsubishi. A good brand for people in North America to start considering more. The Outlander especially! Thanks for watching. Did you end up getting one?
I bought a 2022 SEL. If you are looking to get one of these remember this… Get AWD this is not an option. Driving it compared to the front wheel drive is a big difference Mitsubishis depreciation is horrendous. Only buy new if you plan on keeping for at least seven years. If not, look at certified pre owned. Get the CVT transmission serviced every 30k miles. Great gas mileage Great warranty Great features for the price Built in Japan
Thank you so much for sharing. We appreciate real world insight from actual drivers. It helps viewers with decisions. Thank you for watching. Enjoy your Outlander. You picked a good one mate.
I was leaning toward the Mazda CX5 until this popped up on my radar. Better mileage, 3rd row, and the long term power train warranty takes away my apprehension about the CVT. 2.5 liters is fine and I will never own a turbo gas car. $$$ if that thing goes out!
Mitsubishi is a silent player. Here in Canada it is not the most popular brand, but after driving this we can’t believe it isn’t. The agony of choice. :) Thanks for watching and commenting David.
Great review and comedy Hood Slappers ! I am seriously looking @ recommending the Outlander to my sister . Her 2013 Dodge Journey is on life support and needs something reliable .
Sounds like the Journey is coming to an end. You just tell your sister that it received the Hood Slap of approval. That should be enough. If you’re in Canada we would love to recommend a great dealership for her. Thanks for watching and for saying hello
That’s fantastic. We wish we had the opportunity to review that one soon. We will just have to borrow yours when you get it. ;) Thanks so much for watching.
"Bits-r-missin" we have owned 4 over th last 23 years, 1996 V6 Magna wagon, 2001 V6 Magna sedan, 2012 Triton dual cab(diesel), 2016 Triton dual cab (diesel) here in South Australia. Never had any real problems with them. Decent product with decent after sales service.
Sounds like lots of Mitsubishis are in Australia. Not as many here in Canada, so we like the fact that we got to try it out. Nice brand and great ride. Thanks for watching.
Great vid guys thank you. We live in Panama and we're looking at a 2023 Outlander yesterday. One thing we thought was odd was the key fob did not have a panic (alarm) button. Does that sound right? Dealer said it just wasn't an option.
Thank you so much for watching. We are glad you enjoyed it and hopefully it helped in your vehicle research. The panic not being on the key fob is a bit odd. It is on the Canadian key fob. We can’t address the reason as to why it wouldn’t be in Panama. Sorry mate.
the 3rd row is for import tax reduction and with the reduction, Mitsubishi reallocated the savings to other improvements. Just for anyone that doesnt know.
Brad hides it well, but they were both worried about that third row. It’s smaller than it looks on camera. The camera adds a few pounds remember. :) As always, thanks so much for watching.
That’s so true. It’s mind boggling how more people don’t see this. The Outlander is such a great option but they get buried under the staples like the RAV4 and CR-V. We absolutely loved it.
I just bought one to SEL model..somethings I wished is had is interior les lighting and 3rd lower head rest, but those are not deal breakers I love mines. The sel one I have has light brown contrast. One more thing you have to hook up USB to get Google maps, they should have just automatic connection Bluetooth for that and no USB.
Had an outlander as a rental while our car was being repaired from an accident. also had a jeep grand Wagoneer, and a blazer. It was the best of the 3 but we still love our Subaru forester more.
That is quite a variety of rentals. You could have started your own automotive channel on those alone. Thanks for sharing though. It’s very hard to pull a Subaru driver away from the brand. They’re pretty loyal. We hope everyone is ok from the accident.
They are a quiet brand that does not get the mention they deserve. It’s well made machine. Plus JD Power released their 2023 numbers for quality and Mitsubishi is very close to the top. Thanks for watching.
Hey thanks for sharing. That’s good to hear because we defiantly couldn’t fit and thought there was no way anyone else could. But this is why we love hearing from our viewers. Thanks so much for sharing. Enjoy yours. Hopefully the kids don’t get any taller. :)
I had my used 22 outlander on the 2nd week n I love it n I love the safety n the ride it is better than the RAV4 that I had before the RAV4 was great on gas mileage but had a rough ride so I traded the 21 RAV4 for the 22 outlander got a really great deal on the outlander
@@HoodSlappersOfficial yes over a RAV4! I do Uber and Lyft n Grubhub n DoorDash n Instacart so I need more room in the trunk n the three rows when I do Uber n Lyft
We have a 2018 Outlander and love it so much. We're considering adding another truck since our daughter is starting college soon. This 2023 is on top of our list. This or the CR-V. I've read a lot bad things about the 1.5 litter turbo engine from Honda so we're leaning towards this naturally aspirated engine from Nissan.
All great choices. Can’t really go wrong with any. The Honda 1.5L had a fix done and have resolved the issue for the most part. Is the new vehicle for your daughter or is she getting the 2018. Either way, lucky girl. Thanks for watching.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial she's getting an even older one. We have a 2014 Accord Sport that still runs and looks like brand new. I get the 2018 Outlander and my wife will get the newest one.
Btw, thank you for sharing that Honda fixed their issues. Do you happen to know what was causing all the blown head gaskets for the 1.5 Honda sand is that's the issue that got fixed? That's what's weighing down on us. And I really enjoyed your video. I actually watched it start to end. I can't recall a time I watched a cat review without skipping or doing fast forward on some parts. Great job guys!
Hi! First time buyer of a Mitsi (30 year driver of many makes and models) and I love my 2023 Outlander. The 3rd row is less than ideal but the price point, warranty and amenities far outweigh the tiny tiny 3rd row and torque. I know it’ll last a really long time
Stephanie, thank you so much for saying hi and for watching. You will love the Outlander. We did! How many vehicles have you owned in your 30 years of driving and which has been your favourite?
Great question. If you are looking to get winter tires, the general consensus is to install them when the weather is a consistent 7 degrees Celsius (44 Fahrenheit). Depending on the brand you choose, some offer mail in rebates with your purchase. All the best. Thanks for the question. Hopefully this helps.
Thanks for watching. Can’t please everyone, but it is still very well equipped. They do offer road side assistance to so you don’t have to change a tire in the snow. Have a great day!
It really all depends. If it’s right off the truck from factory, generally between 15km and 20km. This takes into consideration the kms it had when it landed, putting gas in the car, and the tech doing the pre delivery inspection. If there are things like tint or other products that the car needs, there could be extra kms. If it’s dealer traded, then it will definitely have more. I hope this helps.
How much is Mitsubishi rally vs Nissan preppy? Would enjoy seeing some good Canadian winter test driving in slip/sliding away conditions. Up/down after snow, ice, slush. What is decent acceleration in city and highway? What is the towing capacity? Trim pricing in $CA. Entertaining at the very least.
That sounds like a lot of work. Haha. We will tell you what, if we get another Mitsubishi from the dealership, we will see what we can do for you. No promises. :) Thanks for watching.
There goes the whole Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi thing again. As a Nissan owner, I can’t buy another car under the Renault umbrella. I’m ditching Nissan this year. Too many maintenance issues to count. I own both a 2013 Pathfinder and 2018 Note. Love their designs. But they are not reliable cars anymore. This Outlander looks so good though! Aaargh. I hope they can separate from Renault and be their own thing again.
It looks so good. It’s interesting you mention Renault. Where we live, Renault doesn’t exist. We do have plenty of Nissans though. Being associated with Nissan or Renault might not be the best in terms of popular opinion. But, it might be worth it giving the Outlander a shot. It rides as good as it looks. Thanks for watching.
Here in Canada, using only the petrol model, it goes as follows: ES S-AWC, SE S-AWC, LE S-AWC, SEL S-AWC, GT S-AWC. All great trims, but we were spoiled with the top. Thanks for watching.
@Hood Slappers ... not much difference coz I got the sel touring edition...few extra the special paint and badges..illumination shield lights..but I not gonna trade it for a different one.. I love the outlander..
I had a Outlander 2019 till 2022, recently traded it in for a Mazda CX-9, and I have to say, I am super bummed there are no Mitsubishi dealers near here because I loved my Outlander way more!!!
You did?!? Ok, give us your top three things about your Outlander. We love to hear from owners and their experience. Thanks for watching. Cool name by the way.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial hello, the top three things I loved about the outlander was the drive, sound and the versatility with the snow mode. The Outlander drove way better, more of a smoother ride, the sound system was amazing 🤩 and the sound was kept inside the suv. The Mazda has a Bose sound and it’s nice but outside of the car you can hear everything, it wasn’t like that with the Outlander. This winter was the first winter I did not have the snow option to use and it was missed 😂 the Outlander handles in the snow much better than the Mazda. I prefer the ease of use with the Outlander, the Mazda has 1 main button that controls everything and it can get very confusing. Overall, I am extremely bummed that the closest dealer over a hour from where I am dropped the ball and after approved went radio silent and wouldn’t return calls, the dealership said they were extremely busy. 🤦🏼♀️ Hopefully when I trade my Mazda in 2025 there’s another dealer near by, I really miss my Outlander. I’ve had Chevy, Kia, Dodge, Jeep, and the Outlander was by far the best. In the 4 years I had it, I didn’t have 1 issue with it. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Thank you, God Bless 🙏❤️
This is great stuff. Thank you so much for getting back to us. We always love the real experience and insight from viewers. Hopefully comments like yours can help others with their decisions. We will keep our fingers crossed for you too. Hopefully when the Mazda is due, you’ll find the right Mitsubishi dealership for you. Thanks again. :)
I own a 2023, so far its been good for our purpose. ... it's really noisy on the road, concerned about the Mitsubishi app and still no spare tire kit.....
The transmission does create more noise that say a none CVT, but the vehicle is still so much more than that and we are glad you are enjoying it for all your purposes. Now, as an owner, what are your concerns with the app? We love to hear from real drivers.
Great question. At least in Canada, where we are, there is no option to remove it. However, it DOES fold down when you don’t want to use it. Thanks for watching.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial it practically useless, so why carry the dead weight, there's could have been an option or remove the bolts and remove it or something. May be it would have been more useful if the third row seating was reverse, so leg and head room wouldn't have been a problem. Why do they not think of these things
Was looking to replace my aging CRV that has been rock solid for 24 yrs. Along with my family 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen CRV have had no issues. I'm a little concerned about long term CVT. My CRV has had zero issues with its trans for 24 yrs and all I've done is change its trans fluid. I'm not too keen on issues with the 1.5 turbo on the new CRV's but it seems to have been addressed. (maybe?). I would have wished they didn't have the 3rd row and included a spare instead. This might be a weird question, I was able to find that it has about 8.3-.4 inches of clearance, by chance, anyone know its water fording? It flash floods here where I live a lot and I often have to transverse about 1 foot deep of water pretty frequently.
Oh wow. Could Mitsubishi convert a long time CRV driver? That would be interesting to know where you decide to land. With regards to your 1.5litre issue, we are told the fix Honda put into place has resolved the issue. The new 2023 CRV is amazing, but we really like the Outlander and didn’t think we would. We agree on the third row though, seems useless until those two times in your life you need it comes up. We aren’t of any use with the water fording as we have no idea, but hopefully someone on this feed will know. Until then, hopefully no flash floods. Where abouts are you from then? Thanks for watching and for saying hello.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial It flash flooded today. South Houston commuting between Galveston. Its been raining non stop here, it wasn't too bad, but there were spots where the water in certain sections of the streets where about 6 inches deep. supposed to rain tomorrow too so it might get worse. The area I live in now isn't as bad but my old house the water would be in the intersections a good foot deep. Enough that the exhaust was submerged and blowing bubbles.
I have outlander 2019 diesel, after 175 000 km I would say very reliable car , just do the regular service put petrol and nothing else The best reliable car I owned so far
That’s great to hear. We appreciate you commenting and giving us some real world insight. You defiantly drive a lot, so we are glad it’s very reliable. Have a great day and thanks for watching.
I think Mitsubishi os on its way out…. Unless they come up with something much more exciting than a bad copies of Nissan 🤷🏻♂️… It reminds of where Mazda was about 12 years ago, it took them a decade to recover from Ford’s bad taste in the mouth 🤮
@@Lifeneverlost don’t get me wrong, they were making some great cars in the past… Shogun/Pajero mrk I, 3000GT, Lancer EVO… Eclipse was not their best shot 🤷🏼
Rub it in why don’t you. Ha. Now this vehicle is made to Canadian specs. We don’t know what the differences are for Australia. Considering your weather, it must be different. Thanks for watching.
No we didn’t get a chance to put that in the review. It was similar to many of the others in this segment. That third row was what we thought was different enough and should be tested. We hope you enjoyed the review. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the question. In CAnada this is the highest trim being a GT Premium and the colour is White Diamond. It’s a beautiful colour and great vehicle.
What is the Mileage of this car when driven in Hybrid mode (battery charged + gas engine running)? I don't have a charging station at my apartment or at work. It would be difficult to go routinely to a charge station.
Chintan, thanks for your comment and for watching. As per your question, the rated milage for the PHEV is 3.6Le/100km. The actual efficiency will vary depending on conditions such as external elements, driving behaviours, vehicle maintenance and lithium-ion battery age. This is based on Natural Resources Canada’s testing methodology.
Excellent video! How would you compare it to the gas powered 2022/2023 Kia Sorento in terms of quality, build, reliability and bang for your buck as I am considering both.
Thanks for watching. Excellent question. We haven’t had the chance to review the Sorento yet so we can not give a proper assessment. After this review, we would definitely ask everyone to at least consider Mitsubishi when looking at compact SUVs. We did however review the Sportage and were impressed by it as well. So if the Sorento is anything like the Sportage, it’s a tough choice. Drive both and see what you like. You can’t go wrong with either.
After the 3rd row seat test I think we may expect little Jabrad in 9 months 🤷♂️🤣🤣🤣 As always, I couldn’t expect anything lesser than a great job from you guys… can’t wait to see what’s coming next 😎👍
They’re worth a look and a test drive. We can’t help you out in terms of an east coast dealer. Check out some Google reviews and try and find someone you are comfortable with. There are a lot of great people in the car business.
This car does not have a CVT. Typically, the engine acts as a generator to drive the electric motors. It can drive the front wheels directly from the ICE when needed, but it is not through a CVT. Oh, and unlike the petrol version. The drivetrain is all Mitsubishi.
@joelcolgate3683 we will have to contact Mitsubishi and tell them their brochures and dealers are giving wrong information. Everything we see from the information online to the drive and looking at the vehicle says CVT.
i don't really need that third row, but it's gonna be funny as hell to stick my friends back there when im the bus for the group lmao. my mitsubishi endeavor made it to 300k and finally gonna get a new car and im just gonna get another mitsubishi tbh.
Thank you so much. We love hearing from viewers and hope you were able to learn something. Whether you choose the CX-5 or Outlander, we wish you all the best.
Great point! And the few dealers that are around, are smaller and have less of a wow factor. There is a lot of room for growth. They have the right cars coming out. That’s step one.
OMG at 4:45 when I saw him blow in to the potato chip bag I fell out of my chair laughing! Might not be enough room for MATURE adults, OR US! These guys are HILLARIOUS!
We are so glad you liked it. He was half acting. It was very difficult getting in that 3rd row. He had a coughing fit after this scene because he breathed in many chip crumbs. The things these guys do for a laugh. :) Thanks again.
I always loved a Range Rover! So I went the inexpensive route and more reliable too. Love the fact its manufactured and assembled in JAPAN!! They make very reliable cars :D So I bought myself a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE because I always wanted a Range Rover. I feel like a beast on the highway! Love my headlights and fog lights too. I wouldn't get another Mitsubishi because of all the comments about how it has a Nissan CVT transmission and nearly 60k miles you have to get rid of it. It's a great economy crossover! I think I get way more than 30 MPG on the highway. Feels great to have a look alike Range Rover at an inexpensive cost. I got my heated seats, apple CarPlay, great warranty and I can fold my seats down. I can actually lay in my crossover and treat it like a bed. I'm more of a car girl. So I've had it for 3 months now and I am looking to trade into a car with better fuel efficiency hopefully made in Japan or Mexico
Thank you so much for watching and for commenting. We appreciate your thoughts and love your enthusiasm. We do have a question, did you ever sleep in your Outlander???
The Outlander uses a CVT transmission not unlike that of the Rouge. It’s one of the critics biggest issues with the car. It is what it is. We didn’t mind it, but still prefer a more traditional style gear box. Maybe we are old fashioned that way. :) Thanks for watching.
I wish the outlander would of been the same size as the pathfinder . I have the 2022 outlander SLE Special edition one and it’s nice but I do want some more room inside
@@HoodSlappersOfficial of course you guys did a great job on the video it was very nice to watch. And it is bigger then the previous generation I had the 2016 and it was smaller then this one and this one is bigger maybe It’s just me because I was also shopping for a Tahoe which they are not in the same category of vehicles. But at the end of the day I saw the outlander as a bang for your buck. I get leather diamond stitching seats as well as heating seats climate control ac for the rear with navigation and all surrounding cameras and sensors and a lot more . Two things I do complain about is not having a spare tire and I wish it was a V6 or for it to have a turbo other then that I’m happy with the vehicle.
Tahoe and Outlander are defiantly different. You still made a good choice. The good news is, with used car pricing, you could probably get out of your Outlander earlier than you think if you get to that point. But we agree, it’s great bang for your buck. Thanks again for watching.
I owned a Mitsubishi for close to 20years and it was a great car but I don’t like the idea of paying for a third row seat I’ll never use and also don’t like that it shares the platform and electronics with Nissan.
The Nissan thing we didn’t care for either. The seats are there if you need them, but definitely not a massive selling feature. All in all, we enjoyed the vehicle. Great brand too. Thanks for watching Mike.
Rob, that’s awesome. Thanks for sharing. Definitely a sweet job. Enjoy your work horse and drive safe.
I couldn’t agree with you more….. I miss my Outlander soooo much 😂
Mazda regret here 🤣 Thank you, God Bless 🙏❤️
Come back to me in 5 years when it’s a piece of junk.
122 cars? Blimey! :)
Thanks for watching and for sharing your insight.
To even be in the same sentence as his is a massive compliment. Thanks for watching. We appreciate your support. So, did you order one? :)
I own Mitsubishi since 90s , they aren’t new. This is better brand that Nissan, Honda, Toyota en others ❤
Ok let us ask you this, why are they better. We really liked the Outlander. But Mitsubishi isn’t a big brand in North America. We would love to hear your thoughts.
Bimbo comment. Smh.
We bought the 2023 Outlander PHEV . It’s nicer than our old Caddy. Drives like a a dream.
I just bought a 2022 Mitsubishi Sel Edition.. I love the features, and my warranty, everything about it.. great ride. i’m glad i purchased it..
That’s fantastic. We love hearing from actual drivers. There is a lot to like about the Outlander. Enjoy your Mitsubishi Cynthia. You deserve it.
How much did you pay? I bought a ES entry level.
I rock the 2024 Outlander SE Black Edition and OMG I never thought I'd like a Mitsubishi as much as I do. Comfortable. Quiet. 3rd row for small kids when needed. Lots of room. And it LOOKS GOOD!!!
We were just as surprised. What a difference from what Mitsubishi has produced before. You picked a good one.
Me too!!! I love mine so far
Mitsubishi is equal or better then other Japanese brands, remember that Mitsubishi is a famous Air Force manufacturer.
A lot of innovative features. Follow dealer service intervals and happy snoozing.
Love this. Thanks for sharing. We love hearing stuff like this. It’s a great brand and more people need to know about it.
@M There’s chocolate and vanilla!
A little bit longer would solve the third row issue.
How is the ride, those 20 inch wheels don't provide much cushion between the rim and the potholes/pits in today's roads.
@TeamGun nice! A rare bird then. Thanks again for saying hi
Great job. Some of the team reviewer car channels are painful, but you guys are genuinely entertaining and informative to watch.
Geez oh. Thank you so much. That means a heck of a lot. We are glad you enjoyed it. Have a great day!
I've an 03 Montero xls that keeps giving me pleasure to drive. When the time comes to purchase a new vehicle the Outlander is at the top of the list.
Cheers !
Thank you so much. Very kind. We are glad you enjoyed it. :)
This video is the most honest, clear and concised review I found so far. This helped me see a different perspective on how I used to look at this car. Thank you.
Wow! Thank you so much mate. We really appreciate that. Did it changes your perspective for the better?
Omg I just remembered my 2nd car was Mitsubishi 😢 back in 08
How is the ride, those 20 inch wheels don't provide much cushion between the rim and the potholes/pits in today's roads.
More than 10year I'm using Mitsubishi pick up L200.. first time I tried to Mitsubishi SUV... Very nice SUV...I have blue color Outlander 2023
We really like what Mitsubishi is doing and their efforts are starting to show. You went with a great choice! We can’t wait to review another one.
Traded my 21 outback for the se tech 2024 outlander. It was worth it. Loving the outlander . Never going back to subaru
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. What separates the Outlander from the Outback in your opinion? We would love to hear. Thanks for watching.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial outlander has more power and faster than the outback , it does not lag going up hill compared to subaru has a hard time going up hill. The drive of the outlander is smoother than outback . Also had 3rd row seats
Just got my 2023 outlander here in kelowna canada and so far its the best suv ive had for winter driving
That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing that. It’s a great vehicle. Honest question though, think you’ll ever use the 3rd row?
*The PHEV version of this thing IS the best equipped vehicle to ever be sold in canada, (For its price and type, which last I checked was 42K, thats the important part)*
It has rally road racing Super all wheel drive, which is lifted strait from their rally cars.
It can go from 0 -60 in something around 7.2 seconds (Dont quote me on that, but its a cannonball)
It has 7 seats
Its base model comes with TWO 1500Watt outlets.
Its 20kwh battery qualifies for the full electric rebate
It strait crushes all other Hybrids on the market with the exception of the KIA Niro (Which is a minimalist hybrid that values space, and so makes its own independent case), and the RAV4 Prime (But youll never get one, and its only around 15% better at its core jobs. Missing all the other features).
It does not make sense to buy most electric cars against this price point and feature crowding.
Its one of the biggest electric drivien vehicles on the market. Its not tiny. Yet it gets the energy ratings of a tiny car.
Base model has car following
Some things its bad at:
If you want to drive in the winter time with just the battery, you cant turn on the fans.
Really good info man 💯
I have purchased three Outlanders.
Or worse, ask if you can help them move something for them. ;)
Keep enjoying your Outlander. We loved it and were very impressed. You made a great choice.
Have a great day and thanks for subscribing. It means a lot.
Can you ride car seats on the 3rd row?
Depreciates more because most intelligent people realize the car is far inferior to other Japanese brands.
Obviously paid by Mitsubishi to make this comment. You can’t be serious.
Mitsubishi is no new kid. It's been building cars for 106 years!🎉 and was originally founded in 1884, 139 years ago!
Absolutely. They did a lot more before cars were even around. Thanks for watching.
I got a 2024 and the second row is adjustable to give third row passengers more leg room
That’s actually a great point. Thanks for sharing. As an owner, how often would you use the third row?
How is the ride, those 20 inch wheels don't provide much cushion between the rim and the potholes/pits in today's roads.
I just got a deal for a 2024 one, and my goodness, the driving is amazing. It reminded me much of the Rogue I had, but even smoother.
Another satisfied customer. :). Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your new ride for many miles to come.
Thanks for saying hello!
Thanks for sharing. From 4 to 2 eh? That’s too bad. It’s a great brand. It’s a shame they aren’t growing.
@@HoodSlappersOfficialyes 😢 you did a great review btw. But yes sadly the network has shrunk a bit in AZ
@freedom_foz_6337 that’s too bad. Here in Canada it seems like there is very little growth. Funny though, in Australia the brand does very well.
I appreciate the third row try. I am going to get a 24 model
We did what we could. They make it look so easy in all their commercials. :)
You’ll love everything else about it though. It’s a great vehicle.
It’s a doozy. ;)
Thanks so much for watching.

I purchased one last year very smooth SUV .
We loved it ourselves. You made a great choice. The Outlander deserves to be on everyone’s list of SUVs to consider.
How is the ride, those 20 inch wheels don't provide much cushion between the rim and the potholes/pits in today's roads.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial No. but I wanted one badly. We are still considering it.🤞
What are the other options?
@@HoodSlappersOfficial For us, maybe the Nissan Rogue is the other option. My dad likes the Nissan but I like the Mitsubishi.😂
I bought a 2022 SEL. If you are looking to get one of these remember this…
Get AWD this is not an option. Driving it compared to the front wheel drive is a big difference
Mitsubishis depreciation is horrendous. Only buy new if you plan on keeping for at least seven years. If not, look at certified pre owned.
Get the CVT transmission serviced every 30k miles.
Great gas mileage
Great warranty
Great features for the price
Built in Japan
Thanks for watching and commenting David.
I drive a lot of Mitsubishis not a days that’s why I own the 2023 and 2024 suv Mitsubishi outlander exceed tourer and the normal tourer
Interesting. We are curious what do you do that allows you to drive so many Mitsubishis? Thanks for watching and commenting.
Love the review! The potatoe chip bag was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh, guys!
Thank you so much. We had a fun time with this one. We are glad you enjoyed it and could have a laugh. :)
Great review, very authentic and funny. Enjoyed the honest takes.
Thank you so much. Your comment made our day.
Just got a 2020 outlander SEL and we love it
That’s awesome. Congratulations. Here is to many miles of great driving. Thanks for saying hello
Glad that I am planning to buy a fully loaded 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
That’s fantastic. We wish we had the opportunity to review that one soon. We will just have to borrow yours when you get it. ;)
Thanks so much for watching.
Thanks for sharing. We love to hear insight from our viewers. Have a great weekend.
Completely informative review guys. Jared was very worried about fitting in the third row whereas brad was pretty comfortable about it haha.
Brad hides it well, but they were both worried about that third row. It’s smaller than it looks on camera. The camera adds a few pounds remember. :)
As always, thanks so much for watching.
The 2023 SEL may not be the best in the class but at its low low price, it is the undisputed best value for its price
Not surprised it is good. For who makes from TV 's to Airplanes, Outlander represents the brand well.
They are a quiet brand that does not get the mention they deserve. It’s well made machine. Plus JD Power released their 2023 numbers for quality and Mitsubishi is very close to the top.
Thanks for watching.
3rd row Seats, definitely not for grown ups! 😅 my 13 and 10 fit perfectly. 😎
Wow. Over a RAV4? That’s huge. Well we really liked the Outlander so we can understand completely. Thanks for watching.
@@HoodSlappersOfficial yes over a RAV4! I do Uber and Lyft n Grubhub n DoorDash n Instacart so I need more room in the trunk n the three rows when I do Uber n Lyft
How is the ride, those 20 inch wheels don't provide much cushion between the rim and the potholes/pits in today's roads.
@@ofcbob6391 those 20 inch r good over the roads I can’t complain the outlander has much quieter ride
That’s great. Sounds like a game of musical cars is happening in your household. :)
Thank you so much for the kind words Jon. If we can entertain people and help them learn and laugh, then our job is done. :)
Is it ok to say the engine is the same as the old Nissan Xtrail and the CVT is jatco???
I don’t think I’ve seen an Xtrail recently that had all four door handles intact.
Hi may i ask if we need to change the tires to winter tire? Thnk yoy
Best equipped? Where's the spare wheel? Lots of fun getting a flat tyre in the middle of snow country. I prefer the Nissan.
Thanks for watching. Can’t please everyone, but it is still very well equipped. They do offer road side assistance to so you don’t have to change a tire in the snow.
Have a great day!
What is the maximum miles a newly purchased Mitsubishi should have out of the dealership?
It really all depends. If it’s right off the truck from factory, generally between 15km and 20km. This takes into consideration the kms it had when it landed, putting gas in the car, and the tech doing the pre delivery inspection. If there are things like tint or other products that the car needs, there could be extra kms. If it’s dealer traded, then it will definitely have more.
I hope this helps.
Currently drive a 18 outlander sport, and it makes me angry sometimes. Never when I make my payment though.
We are very curious as to what makes you angry. Please share. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching.
Anyone the low spec to the high top spec name make and model ?
Here in Canada, using only the petrol model, it goes as follows: ES S-AWC, SE S-AWC, LE S-AWC, SEL S-AWC, GT S-AWC. All great trims, but we were spoiled with the top. Thanks for watching.
its a lot nicer than many of the other boring small suvs
We really enjoyed it. The styling has come a looooong way
I have one and it is amazing.
Hopefully we did it justice. We enjoyed it and were very shocked and surprised.
Thanks for watching.
I traded my 2022 outlander sel touring edition ..with the 2023 outlander 40th anniversary edition..
Nice upgrade! So far, what do you think?
@Hood Slappers ... not much difference coz I got the sel touring edition...few extra the special paint and badges..illumination shield lights..but I not gonna trade it for a different one.. I love the outlander..
I’m buying a 2024 ralliart black edition can’t wait for it to be delivered!
Show off. :). Thanks for watching brother. Enjoy the new ride
Nissan Rogue is the same but not as good a.warranty and no hybrid love mine
Mazda is far superior.
Does the third row fold down to allow for more cargo room?
Great question. It absolutely does. We assume most people wouldn’t really use it.
My 2023 outlander gt p is so reliable got no issues still drive like new
Never give up,I'm sure you'll fit in somewhere😀
Is there option to remove the third row seat ?
Blimey. Hopefully everything’s ok. Sounds like you need a monster truck where you live. :)
I have outlander 2019 diesel, after 175 000 km I would say very reliable car , just do the regular service put petrol and nothing else
The best reliable car I owned so far

I had no idea Mitsubishi was still was a company!
See, this is what we are here for. Thanks for watching.
I think Mitsubishi os on its way out…. Unless they come up with something much more exciting than a bad copies of Nissan 🤷🏻♂️… It reminds of where Mazda was about 12 years ago, it took them a decade to recover from Ford’s bad taste in the mouth 🤮

Did yall sit in the middle seats? Did I miss it? I was wondering how that legroom was
No we didn’t get a chance to put that in the review. It was similar to many of the others in this segment. That third row was what we thought was different enough and should be tested.
We hope you enjoyed the review. Thanks for watching.
Move on on your rant on the 3rd row! They're meant for kids and smaller people, And they serve a purpose for some people/families.
Thanks for watching anyway. Hope you enjoyed the rest.
What is the color and trim of this Outlander? Thanks.
After the 3rd row seat test I think we may expect little Jabrad in 9 months 🤷♂️🤣🤣🤣
As always, I couldn’t expect anything lesser than a great job from you guys… can’t wait to see what’s coming next 😎👍
Haha. He definitely looked like he was giving birth. We will see what happens in the next 9 months. We will keep you in the loop.
Thinking about getting a Mitsubishi... if i can find a good dealer on the east coast

Mitsubishi's biggest problem is lack of dealerships.
Great point! And the few dealers that are around, are smaller and have less of a wow factor. There is a lot of room for growth. They have the right cars coming out. That’s step one.

Exactly my thought too. It looks like a Range Rover that’s why I love it lol
We loved the look of it.
Would certainly trade my Honda for one. I hope I can afford a used one of these in six or seven years.❤

The plug in is even better.
We have heard amazing things. We will try and get a hold of one to review. Thanks for watching. We loved the Outlander.
What gearbox does it have geared or CVT
The Outlander uses a CVT transmission not unlike that of the Rouge. It’s one of the critics biggest issues with the car. It is what it is. We didn’t mind it, but still prefer a more traditional style gear box. Maybe we are old fashioned that way. :)
Thanks for watching.
I wish the outlander would of been the same size as the pathfinder . I have the 2022 outlander SLE Special edition one and it’s nice but I do want some more room inside
Thanks for watching and for the comment. How often are you finding you need more space?
