You know, I don't care WTF Roger or David or anyone says NOW. Once upon a time, I think they did actually like each other. I watch this and I see some affection, some fun. I don't think it was JUST a working relationship. I think there was friendship. I understand how hard it must have been for all of them. Let's face it: David and Roger are about as different as two people could be. But I still think they at least respected each other a lot at one point. Maybe that's why it became so bitter at times. I'm grateful for the times that they all could work together and give us all some of the greatest music ever. And no, they don't owe the fans anything more than that.
Best wishes to the surviving Floydians. And to all who love their music.
These men, along with Syd, left something special in this world. Their music will never die. It is Legendary.
Well said. They definatley had a friendship but when two different sort of people are constantly around each other for long periods that's what happens.
It's interesting to listen to interviews with the both of them in recent years. Roger has said that whatever was going on with the group socially, he believes that they made some really great music together. He's also said that while he left the band at the right time, he regrets the lawsuit. DSOTM really changed everything for the band - not just with their own relationships within the band, but also in their marriages. The early stuff is where you really see the camaraderie and collaboration.
@@margiegunderson9403 "DSOTM really changed everything for the band"
So true, what a heavy price to pay...
@S Portz, HEAR! HEAR!
"Cause there's no wind left in my soul - And I've grown old"
Man... that part hits hard.
that Roger is the greatest lyricist, in part, because everything he wrote still stand today.. even stronger.. "Us And Them" for example.. "Time" etc etc
"turn to speak but you are alone, millions of miles away from home, you're on your own." really speaks to the loneliness of death especially someone who is hospitalized maybe with family in the room at their last moments.
Written by a young man.
This song and Free Four both hit closer to home as i grow older.
@@ThisGuyRides "You shuffle in the gloom of the sick room
And talk to yourself as you die" I see your point @ThisGuyRides.
Obscured by Clouds. What an underrated album.
The music is good but it's a soundtrack for a french movie that really sucks. Maybe it's why it was never popular
Zabriskie Point is a half good movie imo, the first half is good but the second half, god it badly aged, don't sure it was interesting back in the 70's but today it for sure isn't...The ending with the exploding closet and all is wonderfull tho
"More" on the other hand is good, i think. Solid story good acting sad ending

@Degree7 oh yeah. Forgot that happened lol.

Luis David and Syd the person first frontman of Pink Floyd
Obscured by Clouds is such an underrated album. Perfect music for sitting around drinking beer or for embarking upon epic road trips.
RainyDayMerman the two first songs is the sound of armageddon.
Just don’t do both at the same time :)
Pls explain the meaning to the phrase obscured by clouds I know it’s the name of the album but I want the meaning
Obscured and Animals are my favorite Floyd albums
I totally agree. perfect for smoking pot too, and don't forget MORE, the Greatest album of all time!
It actually warms my heart to see David and Roger smiling at each other and playing music together like buds.
Pink Floyd > Music
Gonzalo DiazLavinz I don't see the meaning of your message. Do you mean they exceed all musical acts before them and all acts that shall come after them? Or do you mean that they trancended music itself and became something greater?
Bob Cindy Sorry if my English is bad...
It was an idolatrous way of expressing myself, although if ... Pink floyd has tranced so much in the music, that has turned it into something pure and perfect, obviously during and after them. Greetings.
Gonzalo DiazLavinz No need to apologize, I probably suck at speaking your language! Thanks for explaining! Have a nice day and shine on
Bob Cindy Your'e welcome! Thank you very much. cheers!
The Dude he means that Pink Floyd surpassed the normal level of entertaining music
One of the greatest songs by the band. Lyrics, melody, chord progression, singing, piano solo, guitar solo - top notch.
Beautiful song.
Absolutely dada .

one of the best songs ever made
I've been listening to this like every day this week.... at least once. Haha
Once upon a time a girl showed me this song, I was talking to her because she looked milledly interesting, I never had strongs feelings for her, for anyone actualy, but, when she showed me this, this song touched my heart and I felt a conection with her. A few months after that one friend of mine said that he was kinda linking her and asked me if it was okay If he talked to her, the simpathatyc loser I am said: I'm okay with that. The day before yesterday he said that he confesed to her his feelings and that she said she had feelings for him too, in that day I realised something: romantically I've been alone since I was born and that I would be alone for a long time. I also realised something else: I missed the chance, my friend is the man inside looking the outside and I could have been that man, there was a week when she talked to me more then normal, I think that in that week she was looking for something and I dismissed that, so she found that in my friend.
Every time I hear this song I think about the only time I was truly in tune with someone, and I feel that this feeling I'll be missing for a long while, or I'll never feel it again, Joana, If you're reading this (witch probably you are not) I Just want you to know that you provided a unique feeling in this cold heart, and that I thank you for that, be happy with him, I'll be happy with me.
I hope you’re doing well now my friend
It wasn't meant to be. Don't worry. You need to focus on yourself, and keep listening to beautiful music.
One day, a girl will find you mildly interesting, and you'll share this song with her, and she will fall in love.
@@marcusaurelius6307 Yeah, after that happened I decided to focus more on me and realized that, all tho we were each other perfect match in the class, the stakes were always higher for my friend than they were for me, some times you just need something diferent to get what you want.
I want love and so did she, we wanted the same thing with our type of people, she got what she wanted with someone diferent from her type of guy, now's my time to wait, untill that I'll keep listening to this masterpiece.
Something better to come
Someone will come by, but I salute you for how positive you are. Not many can say they are like that. All the best of luck, my friend.
I like how when the song says "got to make it to the next meal" it shows a picture of nick mason eating spaghetti

@FBI Alypstick exactly
This should have been a huge hit for Pink Floyd!! I always LOVED this song!!
It's an awesome song/ I've been with you as well on that all these years.
Album band, they didn't need hits. I see your point though, it's a damn good song!
@gary, I never even knew about it until I stumbled on it here and I've been a floyd fan for DECADES.
Lots of memories with that song and the entire album for me and my bro.❤
it was a huge hit for Pink Floyd. It has never been anything other than a huge hit.
Underrated album, had the misfortune to be stuck between Meddle and Dark Side.
Meddle is 100% Drug and trap us into illusion, its not sp easy to break the trap
Exactly
I prefer Obscured.. to Meddle.
O nome do álbum não foi a toa.
The name of the album was not for nothing.
So rate it, if you think it is underrated...
Yet another meaningless "underrated" crap.
Cancerous idiocy...
Amazing, The Best Band Of All The Time!

I don’t know man. Some people just don’t like it. I don’t know why because Pink Floyd is one hell of a band with absolutely beautiful music, but I guess that’s the way it is unfortunately
Lil Pump fans
As for me..never once and never ever would i click on the dislike icon. Even for the music i loathe. Seriously, UA-cam should disable the dislike icon. ..can't see the point of it.
When I bought the "Obscured" album, this became my favorite Floyd tune, and remains so. Ask me about the Stones, Beatles, I say no. This is the band of my generation. (age 56)

You are a brave boy. Obscured By Idiocy.

Watching this makes me feel both happy and sad. Everyone looks like they’re having fun and working together, enjoying their young years, Nick has an awesome mustache...But it also makes me miss Rick even more, and wish the band as a whole didn’t get so strained all those years ago. But I’m grateful that we got loads of beautiful music from all five members.
Either this is taken from film footage or obsessive compulsive photography. Good visuals, anyway.
This simple song is the perfect way to remember my life in the sixties ..being an Englishman certainly helps to really understand and get this floyd time ...i only wish you were here...i was a young man at that time ...now i am 8o..years old but the music and the lyrics still make my eyes misty...my name is django...i was the first django named in england...i was born in ..1942...ah what brilliant days they were ...see yer at childhoods end.... django hodgkins...
Great words Django. Must have been great! I'll be 60 soon. Got into The Floyd in 1978.
Glad to know your story Django
Django. It's a pleasure to hear from you. All we are is all we see.
I like it, you, your life. Thanks to share it. I'm 60. I hope 20 more. Go on!
I’m only 20, born in ‘03. I wonder a lot about what I will see in the future and when I get older. And hoping I get to make music just as awesome as Pink Floyd.
An extremely underrated song. This is the pinnacle of pink Floyd's acoustic work.
So why do not you rate it, if you think it is underrated?
@@danender5555 Relax with your big self a bit. Do you see anyone ever place this song in Floyd's top 10? That's what makes it underrated.

without Syd, but still...
My thoughts too. They're just a bunch of young guys, hanging out and creating. Playing a little ping-pong in between. I find it very touching.
I cannot describe how much I love this band... through the roughest times their music was my only companion, my only soul mate and if there wasn't any of that, I wouldn't be alive today...
In my mind on the flightline ,the final cut weened me
This is one of those songs you hear in your head waiting for MORE
They also helped me enormously... back when I was suicidal.... then I found Buddhism. But Pink Floyd is still my favourite music 🥰
One of the best tracks on the album. Timeless songwriting like this will NEVER get old.
Obscured By Clouds should have been made into a monster since they all pulled together as a team.
Which one is Pink? Anyone know?
Noneovyer Business they rode the gravy train
@@pulsarlights2825 Pink was a vocal display of ignorance uttered by a corporate executive who only knew how to offer the dear boys a cigar and tell them the name of the game.
@@noneovyerbusiness4909 I understand the point of the lyric that an ignorant record company exec would think that "Pink Floyd" was an actual person. However, since the leadership of the band has been shared by Gilmour, Waters and even Syd at one point, "Which one is Pink?" takes on another meaning to fans...So I'll ask again, which one is Pink?
@@pulsarlights2825 I would venture to say 'Pink' was Syd since from what I read he was the one who came up with the name as homage to American blues musicians Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

Of course, we grew old with them but life has been better listening to their music

Gilmour invited Roger to a Palestinian Benefit, and David said he would play on one of Roger's show in London, and it's on UA-cam.
Everytime I listen to this heavenly song, I got reminded of how mysterious yet exciting it is the experience of growing up and to learn how our young, rebellious and curious minds always try to make every encounter an opportunity. This piece is just too gorgeous.
I played this song for my mom as she passed away 9/17/21…. her death was very sudden. Just a few weeks before, I had shared it with her thru text because we lived far from one another, the lyrics remind me of her and the sadness she had over being alone. She loved it and said it made her cry. When I played it again at her bedside minutes before she left, even though She was in a coma, I know her soul heard it, thank you for giving me that moment with her 🙏🏼

Ah David kicked Roger's ass at foosball and Roger never got over it, that's why they broke up.
After being a fan of Pink Floyd for 48 years, I've very gradually come to the view that the band's best two albums are Obscured by Clouds and Dark Side... And if you add the brilliant Meddle, that makes the band's golden period, in my opinion, to have been 1971-73.
Totally agreed and echoes is the best song they ever did possibly the best song of all time.
This great cut of raw but delighting photos looks to us like we're actually watching a VIDEO footage of the 72's Floyd playing, talking, working, having fun, in a very palpable and contagious way... :)
Rick's piano solo brings tears to my eyes. I wish he was still with us.
You and me both.
Rick was the foundation for the sound.
"Obscured by Clouds" is simply fabulous!
Have you seen "La Valle"? when it was released in USA?

Yesterday I dreamed about this song. It was snowing, I was walking along my city and near some centric shopping mall there was a choir of around 20 little children, like about 5 or 6 years old singing this song while being directed by their teacher. These 4 men have no idea how much they’ve changed my life, changed me as a person and changed the way I look at the world. They have definitely expanded my mind with every single one of their albums. And many others with me. I wish they could find that pure love for music and art again and bond over that. I wish they would’ve just stayed buddies over the years man☹️ it’s crazy to me to see Gilmour and Waters, who are so extremely intelligent, be driven by hate for each other. Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Pink Floyd
my favorite album of Pink Floyd. It makes me enjoy to grow old
1. 2. Free FOUR
Timeless precious diamonds 💎
Pink Floyd with both Waters and Gilmour was an absolute supernova lighting up galaxy sky . . It could not stay for too long but the waves pushed through space go on.
Thank you to the Highest Being for aligning the stars and the cosmos, allowing these four incredible individuals (David, Roger, Rick and Nick) to cross paths and meet in this lifetime and create something truly special for the world to enjoy and experience. Love you, Pink Floyd!
"obscured by the dark side of the moon" most likely
humbledb4jesus the final lapse of reason, atom heart meddle, the piper at the gates of more
Obscured by clouds bc of all the meddling from the pipers at the gate meddling about the dark side of the moon on the other side of the wall wishing u were here.
obscured by more "
That's EXACTLY what happened.. I was there when it came out(Obscured) and bought it (dark side) the week it came out.. March '73 I think, completely different from everything that had gone before, they moved on and left the relative innocence of the music behind.. depends what you like, really, and what you grew up with..
Obscured by Clouds has always been my personal favourite album of theirs and has always been in my Top 3 albums of all time...
White Album/Abbey Road/Revolver, (can't decide, it changes) Caravanserai and Obscured by Clouds... wot's...uhh..the Deal...??
Obscured by the wall of animals who wish you were here in the meddle of the dark side of the moon
This gorgeous song comes from the best period of the Waters era. He got angrier later, and the band less cohesive. Indeed, about the same period as DSOTM, but more relaxed. Glory to Meddle-Obscured-DSOTM-Wish You Were Here.
Everytime I hear an epic piece from any pink floyd song. It just encourages me to pick up my guitar and play
I’m crying this song is beautiful
Always gets _me_
“Hear me shout, come in in! What’s the news, where’ve you been?” I got those lyrics tattooed on my back. My grandpa introduced me to Pink Floyd, and I like to think those are the words he’ll say to me when I meet him again in heaven :) 1944-2019
They're just so adorable here. Makes me a bit nostalgic...
Pink Floyd you are GOD of Music... Thank you for such lovely songs...
SIMPLEMENTE LA MEJOR BANDA DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS
Reminds me of my younger Brother who passed way too early from esophagus cancer despite up til then being lean and no body far. He loved this song, and mayhe what he experienced on the way to paradise ❤
