  • The Karen Read case has ended in a mistrial after jurors said they fundamentally could not agree on whether she murdered her Boston cop boyfriend in January 2022 following seven days of deliberation.
Judge Beverly Cannone ruled Monday that the deadlocked jury in Dedham, Massachusetts, is not able to reach a unanimous verdict after jurors sent her notes on Friday and again on Monday that they disagree because of “deeply-held convictions that each of us carry.”
The jury foreman, in his final note to the judge, said, “Our perspectives on the evidence are starkly divided. Some members of the jury firmly believe that the evidence surpasses the burden of proof establishing the elements of the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. Conversely others find the evidence fails to meet this standard and does not sufficiently establish the necessary elements of the charges.”
The foreman added: “The deep division is not due to a lack of effort or diligence, but rather a sincere adherence to our individual principles and moral codes. To continue to deliberate would be futile and only serve to force us to compromise these deeply held beliefs.”
Cannone’s response was simple: “I’m not going to do that to you, folks. Your service is complete. I’m declaring a mistrial in this case. Thank you so much for your service.”

Better to have a mistrial and try to find people who have the least bias possible and look for objective truth.

SHE PURPOSELY DID NOT GIVE THE JURORS THE OPTION OF "NOT GUILTY"..............AFTER ALL SHE IS AUNT BEV OF THE ALBERTS AND WANTS TO SEE AN INNOCENT WOMAN CONVICTED RATHER THAN SEE HER FRIENDS FOUND GUILTY.

It’s a shame the Forman didn’t state the jury reached a verdict on two of the charges.

I truly love the judge composure and the way she present the information to the courtroom.

The judge (aunt Bev) needs to be prosecuted for sitting for this case with the ties she has to that Thin Blue Line “McAlbert” gang!

THAT IS NOT COMPOSURE, THAT IS HER SMUGNESS BECAUSE SHE DID NOT MENTION THE OPTION "NOT GUILTY" ON THAT FORM AND THAT IS WHY THE JURORS WERE NOT ABLE TO CHECK THE "NOT GUILTY" BOX. THIS FEMALE "AUNT BEV" IS THE ALBERTS' FAMILY FRIEND, SHE DID NOT RECUSE HERSELF FROM THE CASE, SHE IS NOT UNBIASED, SHE HATES THE DEFENDENT AND HER ATTORNEYS AND SHE IS BRIBED BY THE ALBERTS AND MCCABES AND PROCTORS. SHAME ON HER AND SHE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THIS CASE.

They really should have had separate verdicts for each possible charge. And sorry but this judge was terrible if you watched the whole trial. The worst ever
