Hi Beth! There's a lot of interest with Falling in Reverse and their new one - last resort. It's a cover of Papa Roach's Last Resort and is simply beautiful but very emotional. Currently getting a LOT of reviews and reactions - would love to hear yours
Best wishes

The red hair, freckles and lovely blue eyes, are so refreshing, and your delightful personality, completes the picture. Listening to you analyze and discuss the voice of Enya, is fascinating, and on point, and quite a bonus. Your voice is beautiful as well - how I have to check out your work. I’m not a guy, so I’m not hitting on you, or anything, like a weirdo in the comments, no, I just wanted to say that part - because you have such a light about you - the world needs this.
Just listening to “Wicked Game” wow, that blew me away. Your range is impossibly good. Just wow.

2:40 OMG... When she sings "...believe AND YOU will find..." she emits the most beautiful timbre change I've ever heard. I love this woman and her music.
Yeah for me it was always touching. It's like amidst all the darkness and despair you somehow actually realize that you have this hope inside yourself. All it took is for you to have this subtle nudge in such a comforting way.
I am always amazed by how long she holds her breath in this song. Im not a vocal coach but it sounds like she never stops to breath.
Many years ago, I lived in a small trailer located on a large farm. It had a flock of free roaming peacocks and hens that numbered in the dozens. One evening during their breeding season I was playing Enya on the boom box when I felt like I was being watched. I looked out the door to find every mature male had folded up his display fan and was come over to find the source of the keening. If this music thing doesn't work out for her, she could have a career working with exotic poultry.
There's just something aetherial in her voice. Not surprised animals react to it well.
Enya is technically Enya, her producer (Nicky Ryan) and lyricist (Roma Ryan). So they are a trio. Enya is notoriously shy and I think stage performing is just not her favorite thing; but no one makes music like her. She will sometimes layers her voice over 500 time (all original takes) to make the textures and sounds. I think she has the most beautiful serene voice ever.
enya is very unique human being
she lives how she wanna live
Enya was actually extremely nervous during this performance. There is nobody like her.
it's very obvious she doesn't like to perform
oscar rules were reason of performance
Of course due to the use of multiple vocal tracks it would be difficult for her to perform anyway, plus she does well enough without touring, I bet a lot of artists would like to make enough money without touring@@glampingo
When Enya came out with "Orinoco Flow" in the 80's, I was amazed with her. Since I've only seen very, very little of The Lord of the Rings, this is my first time hearing this, which is also amazing.
I can't understand a word of that song
@@hlaj666ify- Doesn't matter, lyrics aren't everything.
@@sercastamere9853 true,but still.
@hlaj666ify: I looked up the lyrics and verified it with the studio release. In this live performance, she leaves out verse 2 and refrain.
"May It Be" by Enya
(from "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" soundtrack)
{ Verse 1: }
May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home
{ Refrain }
{ Verse 2: }
May it be the shadow's call
Will fly away
May it be you journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun
{ Refrain }
A promise lives within you now
---
{ Refrain: }
Mornië utúlië ¹
Believe and you will find your way
Mornië alantië ²
A promise lives within you now

Translation from Quenya, a fictional Elvish language created by J.R.R. Tolkien.
¹ Darkness has come
² Darkness has fallen
The most amazing thing is that all vocals and instruments performed by Enya.
As a young adult Enya's "Boadicea" blew my stream of consciousness. At 53 it still gets me to this day! ❤
That whole "The Celts" album is awesome!
I have no idea but I'm always brought to tears by this, such a moving song
So gracefully elegant. Voices like silk.
I´m here for Enya. A great artist. Love her so much.
I love Enya and Orinoco Flow 😍🙏🏻
One of the most mesmerizing voices ever 🤘 Stunning lady.
Enya is Unique.... Is from other world
I love how she and her producer layer her voice. It is such an amazing sound and so perfect for Middle-earth.
I also love how you explain what’s going on. Your videos are the only “reaction” videos I will watch because you teach and explain while other “reaction” videos just take advantage of other people’s work.
Thanks for the reaction. Have been a fan of her unique voice for many years.
Her voice and yours to this combat veteran Marine calms me down. It's just beautiful
Respect from Ireland brother, ex BAF three combat tours amongst many other combat drops in a particular part of the BAF (By Strength and Guile) and we did a lot of work with you lads and your SFOD-D lads who did you proud, cunning fierce brave fast efficient honourable warriors, it was an honour to lead my men into battle alongside you guys, my brothers, Semper Fidelis mo dhearthair, thank you for serving your country, let's get this current regime out this year brother 🇮🇪🤝🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸
I've loved Enya's music for decades. When she sings in Gaelic it stirs something in my Celtic ancestry, a longing for the old ways.
I need to reread the books, see the movies and listen to the music again. Stunningly beautiful.
I love her. Wild child is a one of my favs.
Storms in africa is a beautiful ❤
Thank you so much for your wonderful reaction. She should have won the Oscar for this song. Enya remains one of my favorite singers. That and a teenage Russian contralto.
She has a very recognizable tone.
I first heard Clannad with the theme and soundtrack to "Robin of Sherwood" (1984-1986), and I've loved them and Enya ever since!
She lost the oscar to Randy fucking Newman. Unbelievable.
Cheers , I love Enya' s voice, I'm a massive Channel fan too.
I used to be very into Enyas songs at one point. Especially Caribbean Blue is just magical to me.
Makes me think that it's weird that I can both like Enya and a band like The Prodigy, but I guess they're just musical expressions of different emotions.
Normally I am not a fan of female singers (just much more "into" deep male voices, in terma of auditory enjoyment) but Enya DEFINITELY is one of the big exceptions for damn sure. She just has the voice of an angel.
Thanks for doing this one! Enya is an exceptionally creative artist. I hear something new every time I listen to her multi-layered songs and Enya's captivating music is easy to yield your emotions to.
I've always considered Enya to be a trio because Roma writes the lyrics for Enya. Many years ago, it was her lyrics that drew me into a deep dive of the Iron Age Celts, a journey that continues even today.
If you are not aware of this, Enya is the only performer in her music. She does all the vocals, all the instrumentals and all the percussion layered into one.
I have two performers at the very top of my favorites list and Enya is one of them...
omgg she's one of my favorite artists
Enya! I have loved her since I was first introduced to her in 1990. I have all of her albums and just cannot get enough of her. Her music has been there in all the major parts of my life since then and has been a great comfort in difficult times. She is so beautiful and regal and when I see her perform I am utterly mesmerized by her. She is a treasure!!!
Stumbling across Enya around 1990, when I was in my early 20s, really went a long ways towards breaking me out of my teen hard-rock, metal phase, and opened my ears to a more...comprehensive...appreciation of different genres of music. I was pretty much obsessed with listening to everything of hers I could get my hands on, from that point through about 95 or 96.
Goodness! What an enchanting voice!
The first time I heard Enya in... whatever year she arrived on the scene... I played "Orinoco Flow" over and over and over. I was stunned by her voice. I'm 56 now and her voice STILL gives me chills.
Her "Watermark” album was released in 1988, and it has "Orinoco Flow", which most folks call "Sail Away".
Just imagine being there and listening to her live, as lotr was owning the oscars....
Great Message! Transcendent!
Enya está naquela categoria de cantores cujas vozes,de tão lindas, são um patrimônio da humanidade, assim como Sarah Brightman, Freddie Mercury, Elvis e etc.
Celtic culture in all its diversity has produced so much beautiful and powerful music that has influenced other forms of music that influence our contemporary culture. It never fails to lift and inspire me.
Enya is such an iconic singer. I cannot listen to this song without hearing Voces8's version in my head.
The first time I heard her wonderful voice was the soundtrack together with Clannad to the TV series Robin of Sherwood (although there were only chorus, but that's okay 🤣)
Thx Beth
I loved the music in that show and checked the credits for the artist(s) name. I figured that "Clannad" didn't have any records out and moved on.
A few years later, I saw a video on MTV, that had to be a commercial, because they wouldn't play something that sounded like that. Then I heard Bono's voice. I have purchased all the albums(I think) and have seen them twice, and have tickets to see them in two months.
Ahemm ... the female voice you heard there was not her but of her elder sister MOYA (=Máire) ! (!!)
Try listening to her original version of this. Her lives are great but sometimes sound different every time. If you go to the originals you can see how she creates and mixes the music herself in her own unique way
I Love Enya!! This song is amazing. And really love "Cursum Perficium"
❤
I chose her album, because it was free, back in 1989 - I was blown away by how beautiful it was - complex, deeply emotional, and accomplished.
You can hear how much she is influenced by her older sister Moya. But she's carved her own identity and style out of it. I'd love to hear your reaction to some live Clannad.
Wow, that was far too short! I can, and do, like to listen to her for an extended time. Enjoyed with you Beth. Stay safe.
She skipped the 2nd verse and refrain, cutting the song's duration in half.
Please react to Enya - Aniron, if you haven’t already!❤️
I’ve always loved the beautiful lord of the rings music.
It's almost impossible to pick a favorite by her, but I love her rendition of "How Can I Keep From Singing".
Thank you for the analysis of one of my all time favorite singers! I would love to hear your thoughts on the performance of the same song by the a capella group Voces8.
I love all of my first listen to her, Watermark (her debut ?), it was back in a time when you (I ?) tended to listen to a whole album, rather than track skipping across songs and artists.
But I think my favourite is a Gaelic rendition of Silent Night (which has always been one of my favourite songs anyway)
Now please do the metal version of this with Melissa Bonny and Charlotte Wessels by Dark Side of the Moon!
Definitely. Love what they did with this song.
Or Violet Orlandi & Melinda
Lovely song
Esta canción la escucho como algo mágico como un sonido binaural bien Beth 👏👏🍀🍀
É a voz do paraíso
Have you or would you ever consider reacting to some of the vocal performances from Lord of the Dance?
One time I thought of playing a song of hers while sitting in my bebroom with hardly any light on. Immediately it felt like she was in there with me and my room had magically changed.
There is a singer "Aliki" who covered this and did an amazing job!
Mornië utúlië means 'darkness has come'. I think she choose to make this part in elvish to give beauty rather than dread to these words, to make the moral challenge of enduring darkness more of an invitation to virtue than a threat of failure.
Mornië alantie mean darkness have fallen.
Refrain:
Mornië utúlië ¹
Believe and you will find your way
Mornië alantië ²
A promise lives within you now
---
Translation from Quenya, a fictional Elvish language created by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Reaction of his Sister : Moya Brennan.....or his Band CLANNAD:
Olá sou um pequeno cantor brasileiro, adoro seus vídeos e suas explicações incríveis sobre as grandes vozes que temos no mundo.
Indico você reagir a esse grande cantor brasileiro, se chama Leonardo Gonçalves com a música Getsêmani. Abraços e muito sucesso
gollum song too is beautiful
Yes, but it's sung by Emiliana Torrini.
@@KennethSorling I know >.
Beth, can I suggest you react to her sister Maire Brennan's song "Ce Leis", a lament of a lover's abandonment, where their other 3 sisters sing the Gaelic rolling-chorus?
All album sheperd moons at 1991
Voces8 have a stunning cover of this (choir type group) highly recommend checking it out.
I remember in the interview the day before when asked if she was ready for the Oscars she said was going to be so nervous.....it shows but I rather her sing her own songs.
Beath - try this song from Enya: " athair ar neamh" - in gaelic ?
Enya is irelands elf queen
Actually, the three Brennan sisters are the Elfvan queens
@@barrythatcher9349 yes your right lol
Am new here..are you from scotland or something ? Haha
Once again your solid musical training adds so much to your commentary, especially about 'head voice' vs soprano. I'm very partial to Enya's (real name Eithne) 'New Agey' layering of synths and voices. She's Ireland's biggest-selling international artist after U2. But I must say I prefer the more organic, traditional style of her elder sister Maire ('Moya') Brennan, the original lead singer of Clannad, one of the first family bands to feature Gaelic lyrics, now commonplace. My favorite version of this is still that of Lisa Kelly on the first 'Celtic Woman' album, more orchestrated and emotional. Hayley Westenra has a nice version too. It's not an integral part of LOTR, but simply tacked on to the end credits.
Clannad is also fantastic!
There's some Sinnead in her voice
I too first heard Enya with Orinoco flow then started to listen to Clannad but the song I most listen to from Enya is the nonsensical song Ebudae
I love Enya's original theatrical release of this piece. However, my favorite live performance is from Lisa Kelly and Celtic Woman about 16 years ago, found here ... ua-cam.com/video/RugSclNY4y8/v-deo.html&pp=ygUWbWF5IGl0IGJlIGNlbHRpYyB3b21hbg%3D%3D
Enya sings this with "minimum means a lot" Like a background drum beat being more felt and less overpowering .
You should listen the Liza Kelly former singer of Celtic Women !
It’s very sad the fact that she doesn’t perform live.
Bethy👋
It's just that Enya has found the Higgs Boson, but the scientists has do not 🙂
Beautiful like you
Ethereal
If angels were real and they were to sing they would still not sound as beautiful as Enya.
Next please E. Torrini-Golum Songs grom Two Towers
From*
My favorite version of May it Be is by Lisa Kelly, when she was with Celtic Woman.
Please listen to Voces8 cover of this song ❤
Do Rocío Jurado Algo Se me Fue Contigo.
Review Aaron Lewis solo country artists
I would love to see you review Aaron Lewis his country and his Rock
As mentioned below you should now compare with the metal version by THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, a stunning duet with Melissa Bonny and Charlotte Wessels. ua-cam.com/video/UbbzVj8xYLE/v-deo.html
They. Should’ve turned her mic up.
Please react to a cover of this song by Eileen. She's from Ukraine. I think her translated version to Ukrainian is very good.
She was a bit shaky. Oscar nerves?
"You know it's so Simple" Come on Beth. If it was that simple, you would be selling out Concert Hall's year's ago. Just a minute in, that's a jealous take. 😞
I didn't take that comment as a criticism, but rather as a compliment. I felt she was pointing out how the simplicity accentuated the richness and beauty of the song.
The studio version was far better.
Everything you hear in the studio is her. She was nervous in this performance.
I should never have come here.this was wrong.sorry
Wow
Hola Beth, te recomiendo que escuches a Jonny Craig, ¡tiene una voz realmente increíble! con su antigua banda Dance gavin dance o emarosa.
