50 yrs ago I was 18, and this album was so honest, and struck to my core, and so many other girls. This song was the best breakup song ever. Thank you, Carol, for a lifetime of great music. ❤️ 🎶. Congrats on the Hall of Fame. They were slow, but finally got there. Cheers!
I remember when I finally gave my boyfriend the axe. This song was playing on the radio while I was driving my Mustang and he was sitting in the passenger seat. He asked me if this was what I was trying to tell him. I told him I liked the song, but yes, it was too late. I never regretted that breakup.
It is too real. Especially for people who aren't happy with themselves. It now changes from you and another person to you and your old self. Gotta find that track so you and yourself don't split.

Amazing video for this classic song. How many times have I applied this to an ending in my love life. OMG looking at the ticket stub of her concert from way back in a galaxy far far away in June 1971 (my bday) makes me laugh 😂...❤ this song
This song hits 🎯 directly to my heart ❤️. It's a sad song but it's so beautiful. "Still I'm glad for what we had and how I once loved you". Such powerful lyrics. Thank you.
I heard this song for the first time about 4 yrs ago laid in my prison bed listening to DREAMTIME on Newhall , prison radio. It was about 3am and I cried like a baby ! 😭 Genius xxx
I remember this wonderful song on my first LP. I was only seven years old. The album was Tapestry and it went on to win four Grammy's. She was a good singer and one of the greatest songwriter's of her time. This brings back beautiful memories.
Same story here. I remember being 5 or 6, listening to the records my parents had had since before they got married. Even then, this album was already 14 years old. Music this well written just doesn't exist any more.
I agree LOL this music is Magical ! I love the comments so many nice people have leprosy wonderful comment it's obvious to see what kind of people listen to her music!

When this song came out I was in High school in Puerto Rico and my English teacher used this song in class to help us with English pronunciation. For some reason I can never forget that day. Of course I enjoyed the song, a perennial heart-touching melody.
I remember listening to this beautiful song in my parents 1971 Buick station wagon's radio when I was 5 years old in 1971. We would take road trips in the summers and I would hear this song playing on the radio. Loved this song back then and still do today.

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE LISTENING TO THIS SONG. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE LIKING THIS SONG. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE LOVING THIS SONG. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR THIS SONG. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR ANYTHING. GOOD SONG. 👍 🙂
Haha,,,, yes indeed. It really suits that Sunday morning vibe, It also addresses deeper issues. I'm 70 and still baffled by the complexities of relationships. To all the people out ther there who have comfortablen friendly relationships I salute you. I think that once you get past the chaos of youth and immaturaty you might make some progress. Then again.... It's late, I'm drunk. What do I know.
Same, the Tapestry album is 38 years older than me and I would definitely consider it one of the greatest albums of all the time and I also vibe to this song.
This song has been in heavy rotation amidst the songs in my head for years. Mowing, eating, fishing....Driving past "Big Pink" in Portland, OR nearly 2,000 miles away from my Missouri home. Even while using a grinding wheel to remove silicon from transmission housings on numerous occaisons(I worked the job for like 3 years!). It will be with me always. Thank you Carole for the wonderful song!
What a good testimony of the generation of 70'; the flowers withered but our music remains in force to this day to tell the world that we once existed.
I'm 60 yrs old and when this song was out those were the best times of my life cause life was simpler. To be honest, every time I hear this song nowadays tears swell up in my eyes because I miss my family especially my brother and my older sister because she used to love this song. I learned gymnastics from her, so she would take me along with her to different gyms to practice. The early 70s was the turning point in music and the streets and parks were filled with Hippies smoking pot and writing songs. Back then people used to listen to the AM stations not FM because There were no good FM stations yet. Like I said, it was a much simpler time ,but this is one song that I passed down to my daughters.
How beautiful and powerful of a true love song. How I played this whole album down past the physical grooves of the record then, back in the 70’s. Mix with a little Sweet Baby James ( JT ), muah! That’s a whole other life story. Thank you, Carole, from an eternal fan…Aloha wau ia oe...
I was 14 years old when this album came out🤩🥳and how memorable this album has become...and indeed how unique and iconic that we had heard one of the first of many great women/singersongwtiters.
I was 11 years old when I first heard this song & the piano got me right away. Then I heard her voice ❤ it might have been an emotional song for my older girl cousins but for me, it was the beginning of a love affair with beautiful music
Wow, this video is such a perfect masterpiece of this song that I have sung throughout my life, too, through several relationships with men. Can't live with them, can't live without them! LOL.
You know, I really like this song, but I think it's so much more impactful stripped down, with her alone singing and playing the piano. It really accentuates her voice, the lyrics and the message more.
