Another approach to defeating the Stage Lord. If you chose to spare the bandit from Olaf's, she will have a small group that you can recruit to help fight. She is wanting to fight right away, but she will be instantly killed by the Stage Lord. Instead tell her to wait until she hears fighting. You also have an option to turn the owlbear to your side if you find it before the big fight. It does require a skill check, but having an owlbear and a group of bandits on your side is awesome!
There is a lot to be done different. You can convince the first guy after hoping the wall to fight on your side. Also, you can go around and take down other stag lord bandits. And a valid strategy is to focus dealing damage to the stag lord instead to his crew. He is a strong damage dealer, and delaying taking him down you also give him more turns dealing damage. Finally, every option at the end of the combat leads th the death of the stag lord.
According to the owlbear..when you approach his cage passing the nature skill check with a character with high nature skills then the owlbear will fight on your side against the stag lord party. My greatest fun with the game was having a party where everyone had a smiladon as animal companion which increases the number of the party to 12...being then totally overpowered especially with a sorcerer with the right spells to increase the animal´s strength during the fight. Tip: when you choose to play with 5 mercenaries in order to have a party of choice then "buy" those at Oleg´s tradepost from Anoriel Eight Eyes before you Level up to Level 2 then those cost nothing although it is said 500 per mercenary. When you buy those at Level 2 they actually cost 1000 per mercenary, and buying those later they are getting then more and more expensive the higher your current level is....just saying
Turn-based combat makes the Stag Lord's fortress pretty simple. Take care of the initial guards at the gate. Stick to the area east of the main gate near the chest behind the boxes which need to be moved to access them. You can trigger the bandits across the wall and they'll work their way around to you. Stick close to the wall, immediately going east. Leave the person you want to handle the owlbear near its pen & send the other members farther east to where two of the Stag Lord's lieutenants are waiting. Once you trigger them, quicksave & release the owlbear. Repeat until it is on your side. Move a tank & a cleric to the ramp, waiting for the Stag Lord to appear. He often prefers to keep using his bow, which provokes attacks of opportunity. If you're playing a ranger w/ an animal companion, a thief, or a sorcerer, dip out early to do the quest with the tieflings at Sorrowfell as she can serve as a treasurer before Troll Trouble begins & you finally get to meet Jubilost. You can sneak around the boss to retrieve the artifact the tiefling seeks instead of trying to take it down with two characters.

Whats the point of having obnoxious metal music in the background? we're not here to listen to music, and it mostly sounds like static noise behind your VO...very unpleasant and makes me skip the video.

I think if you have a high enough lore nature. You can convince the owlbear to help you. Well I think its lore nature. Might be another skill or feat.
I managed that ONCE, probably a critical success. I was never able to do it on any other play-through.

I snuck my way around the stag lord camp, and did all the fights individually, then I only had him, and about 3 of his unnamed bandits to fight.
