This is exactly what I needed, thank you so much. I was able to clear th pan of water, test and then find the fault. Turns out that whoever assembled the short rubber hose leading from the pump at the put a small nick in it. Everything worked for 6 years but finally water has split the tiny thickness that was left, I could clearly see the old cut and the new tear. Happily it's a cheap part that will be here tomorrow! Thanks again, saved me a week or more of waiting for a repair person and quite a bit of money.
Mine is an older Asko D1716. Cleared the blocked drain pipe connected to the "elbow" joint under the sink that caused the dish washer to be flooded. Despite that and after having thoroughly cleaned up the inside of the dish washer including the three filters, it just kept on running with no water being filled when switched on. But my grateful thanks to your video, was able to open the front panel to have access to the base pan which was still flooded with water. Used a large sponge to soak the water (about 1.7 litres!) and then used a hair dryer (medium heat, with highest speed) to fully dry the base pan. After putting back the front panel, the dish washer works as normal again when switched on! Thank you again!
I have a much older ASKO than this one, and I was successfully able to finish the cycle that the dishwasher stalled in after sponging out all the water. I spent about 15 mins at the front right of the machine, sponging out water, I collecting maybe about 1-2 litres of water. After plugging it back in and restoring power, it took up where it left off. This however, does not mean I do not have a leak or crack somewhere and it may fill up the base pan again. This video has met expectations. Thank you.
Confirm: this fixes the issue. As I get it there's a sensor somewhere there, it detects there's water in basepan and this turns on the pump. But level of water is too low to take it out so the pump works forever. As soon as you remove water from basepan the dishwasher works just fine. You need to find the cause of water in basepan although. In my case it was a loose waterhose connection which leaked. Thank you, author.
This method fixed our dishwasher. But You really can't get to the top two screws on each side unless you remove the door. On the inside of the door, there are three screws on each side of the door and two on the bottom. Once off, you'll need to disconnect a wire and a plastic water connection. Even then, my screwdriver was too long so I had to use just the screw head and a pair of pliers to get to the top screw. The hardest part of all of this is getting the door back on. That was the only part I needed a second person for. You've got to line up the panel with the door while lining up the plastic water connection at the same time.
In my case, the water keeps on filling inside the dishwasher when OFF, so I have to turn off the entry water valve. Can you tell me if I need to change the inlet water valve of Asko dishwasher? That's why the water fills up in the dishwaher and goes onto the base pan through the overflow, fills the base pan and turn the pump ON all the time, until I empty the base pan.
These directions are on point. I used a small ratchet to get at the torque screws on the guard plate. If you're not mechanically inclined you can try removing all of the visible water in the bottom of the machine - wet vac works well if you have one. Leave the door open and check if any additional water has pooled and remove it. Once all visible water is removed and if you have a couple of days, leave the door open and let the water in the base pan evaporate on its own. A fan might help to speed the process up. I had this happen a few years ago - we left for the weekend and when returned the problem fixed itself.
Need some help here with the tools required and how to get access to the under (the door) vertical screw @1:49. The video uses a demo model that is prop'd up on a table...but most dishwashers are on the ground - how do I get a standard screwdriver under there as the floor would be in the way. Any help? Do I need to buy a special small handle 20 torque screwdriver?? Thanks!
I have an asko Dishwasher D5122 I had water in my basepan and removed it but I don't know whether the leak is from the water inlet valve or the hose from the circulation motor or base pump
I thought it would be too difficult to remove the kick plate so I took out the dish rack and the filter cup, then got my shop vac. I duct-taped a small 2" wide vacuum cleaner attachment to the end of the larger shop vac hose and stuck it down in the drain. It removed all the excess water & now all is well!
Asko dishwasher approximately 3 to 4 years old, runs for 7 to 10 minutes then drains, but then F11 code and machine stops cycle. Appears that drain continues to run even though tub has drained. Had repair person over and he replaced drain hose, problem persisted, then replaced drain pump, problem persisted, then replaced main control board, problem persisted, then replaced pressure sensor, problem still persisted. Finally he gave up. I’ve invested in all these new parts and his labor to still have the same problem. Any help, suggestions would be appreciated, other than replace the dishwasher, Asko is impossible to contact since the Wolf/SubZero company dropped the line. Canadian distributor says contact your local repair service lol. I’ve already done that numerous times and they have given. HELP!!!
I have a D3550 with an F5 fault. I have removed the panels and found no leaks or visible issues. The unit appears to fill just fine and also drains completely. Any ideas? Help is greatly appreciated!
me too! can't figure out how to remove lower back panel to access inlet valve... they were so close to perfect in this video but skipped right over it!
It’s so uneasy to remove the front panel on the bottom with the way the screws are located. In your video the washer is standing on a waist level. And this is not the same as when it’s below the floor level

@@ramblinstewart Same issue - this video is ridiculous and non-practical!!! Thanks for this suggestion - I just hope after doing all this - there is actual water to clean / fix the problem. Do you think finding a short /mini 20 torque screw driver would do the trick without having to dismantle the door?
Needs a better title. I searched for Asko dishwasher keeps running, eventually found the water in basepan fault via other sites for a Miele, and then found this video via the Removing water in the basepan title. Perhaps the title should include Dishwasher keeps running?

Thank you. Found water in the pan and cleaned it up and the dishwasher is running again. Again thank you.
Your instructions were easy to follow and exact. Thank you for saving us money.
How much trouble could it have been to put a damn rubber drain plug in the base pan near the front?

Thanks for this. Tilting the dishwasher worked to drain it out. But knowing that there could be water in there was very helpful.

We have this error code but there is no water in the base pan, any suggestions?

Thanks for the clear instructions and demo to clean the clogged water. This was very helpful to get the machine back on track :)
Awesome, thank you for helping me fix my F10 issue.

what do three horizontal lines mean on an asko dishwasher?
Thank you so much from Melbourne Australia
Thanks folks. Not quite the same fault but followed your instructions and it lives again!
graypz55 ,
I need to clean pan once a week. I need to close breaker cause pump still running but pan stays full. There is a leak somewhere i need to find ?
I have a D3550 with an F5 fault. I have removed the panels and found no leaks or visible issues. The unit appears to fill just fine and also drains completely. Any ideas? Help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for an invaluable clue to my problem
Water in the base pan every wash….this doesn’t fix that😢
How do you remove the BACK panel?
Did you figure out how to remove it?
me too! can't figure out how to remove lower back panel to access inlet valve... they were so close to perfect in this video but skipped right over it!
Why not just tilt the machine forward to allow the water to drain?
You saved me man - thanks 🙏🏽
ASKO D5253 dishwasher does not consistently fully drain, no error codes, filter clean
It’s so uneasy to remove the front panel on the bottom with the way the screws are located. In your video the washer is standing on a waist level. And this is not the same as when it’s below the floor level
I agree! I’m unable to access my base pan because THE DOOR is in the way of 4 of those 6 screws. Who designed such a horrid setup?

Bruce Leslie would be enough with having it in the tags or description, by doing that it would come up by search easier
I drain my older Asko by pulling it out, putting down towels on the floor and tilting it.
Didnt you want to spend an hour removing the dishwasher and the removing all those screws. What a cheat haha
Asko is horrible. Nice while it worked for 2 years. You cannot contact the company. My machine is dead because they can’t get me a hose.
Excellent clip, thankyou.
