0:45 That's because Chell is actually in a different room and the camera gets offset to the moving container in order to make the interaction with the room easier to deal with. I'm guessing they deactivated crouching because it created issues with the camera offset logic.
@@chibisayori20 You can actually see it in game if you want. You just have to run the thirdperson command and you'll be able to see the room used for collision rather than the moving room.
Damn, I always wondered why you don't just clip out of bounds in that section. Actually a very clever solution to the instability of the source engine.
Not the nicest game to this brand of challenge, but it's entirely underSTANDable why: they introduced a lot of completely new movement mechanics in Portal 2. Though the image of someone speed-crouch-walking along an orange gel trail and soaring into the air in a crouched position like a demented goblin is undoubtedly an amusing one. I actually wonder if it's possible to do a pacifist sort of challenge in Portal 2. I've done playthroughs before where I refrained from destroying as many turrets as possible, but it could include other things; skipping as many item/environment destruction triggers as possible, preventing as many sentient objects (turrets, frankencubes, etc) from being tossed into the abyss as possible, etc. Though I could also see how that challenge could be tedious, but I suppose that's part of challenge runs.
But is it possible to beat Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom pain without Standing. on the Edge of the Crater, like the Prophets once said. And the Ashes are all cold now, no more bullets ...
I tried your no standing challenge a few weeks ago for Half-Life 1 and only got to the ventilator in the chapter Blast Pit. There it's not possible to climb the ladder fast enough to avoid getting killed by the ventilator. And I often had to use grenades to boost myself over big gaps like the one where you have to jump to a ladder up to the elevator which leads to "We've got hostiles".
If you are in the air I wouldn't consider that standing, which would technically mean that you can jump without touching the ground (according to the game) if you time it right, and if it is on bounce gel I think it would bounce you and would give you the ability to crouch again. If you walk into a wall you go faster, I think it works while crouched too. Also air strafing would be useful in this challenge. Also you can trigger crouch fly with a crouch and no standing.
I don't think Left 4 Dead games will be as simple. I don't feel like there'd be too many problem areas, but the ones there will be would be really terrible since you can't pick things up. Probably would rely on zombie boosts
21:57 Lol "Wrong Answers Only Core" 😆 That's a good description.

Dang, I didn't know that.
@KazyMatman Well, you learn something new every day!
what
i thought it was similar to Gordon in Trainstation maps in HL2, player being unarmed and all

A no collateral damage run could be cool
5:32 you might be able to get past by wall strafing. when you're hugging a wall you move slightly faster. idk if it'll be possible though
i wouldn't count the first stand since its out of the players control

Glad I could inspire you to try a challenge! I'm both dreading and excited to do Half Life 1.

I could have been more lenient on myself but since I already failed the challenge I didn't bother trying to argue over technicalities.
