We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

    THANK YOU ❗️

As kids in the early 80's, we used to do this our backyard all the time. We would to steak, chicken, and we would also make our own hamburger patties. We always thought this was really cool and so much fun to do as kids. Its really damn delicious as well.

Great recipe! I do this with just fish and potatoes, and my wife insists that I make them every week. I'll have to try it with steak (maybe tomorrow? It's the 4th, so why not?). Love your cooking set-up. i keep pointing it out to my wife, but she says other things come first (mortgage, bills, car maintenance), but I'm working on it!

We used to do this with Steak/Pork-Chops/Chicken /w/ potatoes, veggies, etc. in foil in camp-fires for years... excellent tastes.... We would grab the condiments from my mom's condiments drawer to take along camping... Chicken /w/ onions, potatoes, and broccoli in butter, hot mustard, BBQ, salt, pepper, and soy sauce... the best! Whole chickens in garlic butter... heaven!

This is an old campfire recipe. This one is particularly good, but it works for any kind of meat. I've done it with chicken, pork, venison, and even fish. Some kind of potato is needed or it's considered blasphemous, but you can add things like onion, carrots, asparagus, etc. - pretty much everything tastes good when you cook it in fat over a campfire.

Talk about memories, I used to do this 40 years ago while traveling. I would lay the foil pack carefully on the engine and drive for 30 or 40 minutes and then stop and flip it over and drive some more .Hot lunch at a rest stop hit the spot. Thanks for your programs!

We used to do this in Boy Scouts back in the mid-90's as well. We all laughed when the premade foil pouches came out some years after we had been doing it.
(Also not ment as trying to one up on time period. Just giving perspective for how useful this technique can be through time)

Like I said on the last video with foil, this really is a great camping hack. Grew up in Boy Scouts and we did this as, at least, one of our meals. We also demoed it at Camporee as well. It really is a great thing. You can also assemble ahead of time, put em in a ziploc, and save on prep and clean up at the camp site.
Seeing this makes me wonder if they do, indeed, read some comments after all, 🤣

We used to call them Hobo dinners.
We would usually make them before we left to go camping. Or have all the ingredients prepared and let everyone throw one together at the camp site and just toss them on the coals after the fire burned down.
I also do this with fresh caught whole fish. Stuff the gut cavity full of lemon pepper, sliced Lemon and sliced Jalapeños. The toss it on the Grill. Started doing it because my wife hates the smell of cooking fish and it turned out so good that we just kept doing it.

Depending on the grill, medium high can go as high as 400°F. So, if you wanted to, you could use your oven at about 375°F for those 7-8 minutes per side. You'll get pretty much the same result, and the bonus is that you can do this in the winter, when the snow is halfway up to your doorknob. Foil packet meals have been a staple in my house for decades. It's a shame that it's a lost art.

Campfire popcorn on the cob is our favorite camping food. Take an ear of corn, shucked, and place it in tinfoil with a pat of butter. Wind it up and toss in the fire or place on the hot grill until it starts to smell like popcorn. Remove from heat, open and season however you like and enjoy. I make a campfire salad, too, that’s very similar to yours steak packet just no meat.
