as a stranger I think I can leave my wallet with you and come back a week later and everything will be intact. Believe you're that kind of man. Can listen to you talk all day.
Jeff, I'll say I am a friend that has yet to meet you, rather than a stranger. That being said I concur with Mr. Johnson 100% on the wallet issue. Straight honest comes across with you in spades. Best Regards, Matt Garrett. Chesapeake, Virginia.
I would love to have this rifle as a companion to my 460 XVR, but like everyone else has said below - I can't swallow that price. At $1500, it's be a no-brainer; maybe even $1800. I wish there were more rifle offerings in this caliber beyond the TC single shot. Nice review, thank you!
.460 out of a rifle? That's an awful lot of firepower! Love watching more and more of these classics come to market (even if this is priced a bit high for me!). It's like watching the country get back to its roots.
At 3k I dont think so. If it was about half that it would be worth it. Especially as sticky as that action was. That thing should be like snot on a doorknob smooth for that price. Although it does look like quality construction. Great Video Jeff!
This could be the modern caliber version of the .45-70, even more powerful. Looking at the ammo specs available, it's definitely capable of talking down any game in North America and then some.
BHA have lost their minds if they think any modern lever action rifle is worth 3000 dollars. There is no way to make one worth that much unless the wood came from Noahs Ark.
The Big Horn Armory Model 90 460 S&W Magnum Lever-Action Rifle is a good looking rifle, Gunblast(dot)com. The rear sight on the bolt makes for a long sight radius, when using the iron-sights. Good advice from GunBlast about people making a decision about their own gun collections.
Well the market is wide open to compete with manufacturing a .460 Lever action Rifle. I want more capacity and design than Big Horn has to offer. Their rifle that comes close to my liking, is over $5G...(!?) I Can't do it....and I simply cant justify the value. The video brought me up, in hopes of owning a .460 Lever - The website burst my bubble. *Thanks for trying to help.*
Jeff, I noticed that the rifle seemed to eject slightly to the left.....great for you, but it seems that it would hit us righties in the face. Is that just the way you were holding the rifle when you opened the action or does it truly toss them left?
The trouble with .460 S&W is there is a .45-70 gov't which has a 0.006" larger bore and much higher case capacity for crazy loads, can run bullet grains as high as 550, as well as a host of less expensive brands who chamber it.
Exactly, if you load your own 45-70 is the way to go,very versatile and much more affordable rifles,my personal favorite mountain round for sure, however I must say this thing looks like a quality piece ( maybe some more work on the action though)
@@wolfmanrebel874 It's hard to have less than quality pieces with Big Horn Armory when they cost over 2 grand each. I like them, but I like them like I like Ferrari or Porsche.
That rear peep sight, what brand is that? It looks like BHA switched to Skinner sights (love it on my Marlin in 357, but I'd like some easier adjustment to elevation like what is on your rifle)
Jeff was checking out you shirts and hats are you going to do sweatshirts in the future? Also was looking at that sweatshirt in your Gun world magazine video ( Body Piecing By Ruger) can you tell me where I can acquire one to appreciate your time and videos.
I got the Ruger shirt at the big Wannamacher Gun Show in Tulsa, OK. On the Gunblast sweatshirts, they offer long sleeve T-Shirts, but no sweatshirts at this time. Jeff
I ordered one of these from Big Horn Armory last July ( it is January now), paid the downpayment, and they told me once again ( 2nd time after the first 2-3 month wait) that it will be another 2-3 months.

Beautiful rifle! Way outta my price range but still beautiful! I plan to get a rossi r92 in 454 casull and customize the heck out of it. Cold hammer forged chrome moly barrel, winchester 94ae style tang safety to replace the top action one which i hate. Fiber optic sights because why not? Im also gonna have the action slicked up so shes better than factory new and ill have the barrel threaded for use with a muzzle brake. Even with all that being done, i think itd still be cheaper than this and shoot just as well. Lol. God bless.
I don't think the rifle is capable of all those calibers in 1. I only say that because Big Horn Armory makes different models for all three of those calibers.
It's kind of a niche market not to mention it's for more than what most people need or will ever use, if you want to get on the cheaper side and still get into power I recommend starting at 44 Magnum
Jeff, I'm curious why the rear sight is so far offset to the left. That makes me wonder if the bore isn't straight on the action. I don't have any problem with the rear sight being so far back because it makes for some great accuracy. The farther away from the front sight the rear sight is, the more accurate you can get. However, with me having had 6 eye surgeries, I wonder if I'd be able to use it. I'm afraid it'd be so out of focus from being so close to my shooting eye, whichg doesn't focus at all because of a cataract implant, that I'd not even be able to see it well enough to know what the front sight was doing in relation to it. Thoughts anyone?
I have no idea what you mean. The rear sight was perfectly centered on the sight ramp, and the ramp was perfectly centered on the bolt. It was right when I was shooting. Only thing I can think of it might have loosened while I was shooting, and I knocked it over before taking the pics jeff

A nice gun and a great review! Like everyone else, the price is prohibitive. But what am I seeing at 5:45 into the video? What is that ragged looking metal around the bolt? Is this an optical illusion? I would hope so at these prices.
200 gr at 2900 fps?! That is .300 WinMag level of velocity for a bullet of that weight. Granted, you probably aren't going to make a 1000 yard shot with this, but I'll bet it wallops almost anything in North America with 4 legs hard enough to drop it.
hello my friend, I'm in Brazil. I've seen your videos, I want to congratulate you. I feel like importing that rifle. Big Horn Armory Model 90 460 S & W Magnum. Can you clarify a doubt with this rifle I can use the ammunition 45 colt, 454 casull and the 460 S & W magnum ??

I would love to have one. However, a close look at the screws shows they were not installed carefully, and were damaged during assembly
Jeff, do you think the rear sight being mounted on the bolt will affect the accuracy or zero of the sights as the action wears with use?
In theory, it could, but we are talking several thousand rounds to induce that much wear.
