  • We’ve had no regrets whatsoever after purchasing this refillable propane tank. With how often we use propane, this should pay for itself within 2 years and we get to feel good knowing we’re not contributing to land fills as much. Though the 20 lb. version of propane tanks is much easier to find, this 5 lb. one stores very conveniently in our space-limited camper van. You too can save money while reducing your environmental footprint buy using one of these instead of single-use cannisters.

I have the 5lb tank. I store it in a 5 gallon bucket. Fits perfect with enough room for the hose and as an added bonus the bucket can be used for multiple tasks.

Great video. We always feel guilty using the disposable 1 lb bottles. Plus they’re not always easy to find. We just purchased a 5 lb bottle but haven’t used it yet. It definitely takes up a lot less space than 5 one pound bottles.

Congrats - we’re guessing you’re going to love that thing. Turn the valve off a minute or so before you’re done cooking and it will burn the last bit of gas in the hose.

Would love to find one of those little 5 lb tanks here in Canada! ---- never mind found them here. 😅 I didn't realize they were allowed in Cda. Good to find out.

Hi Tim and Shannon - we have been watching your videos for almost 2 years - we bought a van last summer - a Ford Transit 350. We have been distracted the last months and have not paid much attention to van-anything, on hiatus as the floor guy had a family emergency and was unable to install the flooring before winter... I just saw that you took the ferry up to Alaska 9 days ago and are wondering where you are now? We are in the Yukon - and wondered if you would like to stop in shower or anything - we would love to hear of your adventures et al! Let me know!

Is it safe to keep the propane tank on the inside of the vehicle?

Hi Caleb - That's a tough one and we are definitely not authorities on that. We accept the risk of doing that but for yourself, I suggest if it's a concern for you that you talk to someone who knows more about it, like maybe at a propane filling station. Ask them what they think and make your decision from there. Thanks for watching!

@@TimAndShannonLTD cool thanks for the advice, I have a minivan camper so it’s more convenient for me if I can keep it on the inside and since I already have to keep my vents open all day to prevent mold I figure it shouldn’t be that bad, and my carbon monoxide detector should help with the worry

@@LordofStormsEnd Yes, vents open will definitely help. Carbon Monoxide detector will help when using it, but I don't know if it detects unburnt propane (like if the tank was leaking) but maybe there is a sensor available for that as well which would be a good thing to add.

@@TimAndShannonLTD hmmm yeah I guess that won’t work for gas leaks, thanks 🙏
