  • So far, having multiple projects on my needles hasn't meant that I jump between projects any more than usual. Over the last few weeks, I still knit on one project exclusively, then another, then another without going back to any of my WIPs once I put them down. But it's still early days for both of my new COs so maybe I'll get better at juggling as I knit on. At least I have lots of fun knitting to look forward to once I get all my frogging done!
Are you having an easier time with your knitting than I am these days? I hope so! Any tips or advice about understanding your hand-spun and/or sock knitting are more than welcome :)

Hello 😊 I sent you a ravelry message,it’s so nice to see your videos while I slowly get back to crafting. You’re cables with that green yarn is just so pretty, and what a great color, green is lol

You've cheered me up, Genny, with your positive attitude on frogging, since I frogged a shawl I'd just finished as I watched this. I'm probably more reluctant to rip things out than many knitters, but I remind myself that Nancy (of Blacksheep knitting) says that "good knitters rip!" I'm a monogamous knitter, but am considering having two projects on my needles....we'll see. I love your enthusiasm and concur about how fun it is to learn new techniques.

I'm sorry you had to rip out your shawl but glad I could lend some solidarity ☺ I hope you're able to either go back to that project or start something new that gets your needles clicking again. "Good knitters rip" sounds like a perfect knitterly aphorism to me! I'm off to look Nancy and her podcast up 🧶

@@genevieveinthenorth Oh yes, new things on my needles: a cotton top (Pothos by Beth McDonald Stone) and the Feldmark shawl, for the beautiful yarn that came from the frogged shawl. I'm trying having two projects going, so far, it's OK since one requires focus (the lace) and the other is mindless, which I knit while watching the news. (It's soothing when the world is in such chaos and pain.)

@@constancemcconnell2128 That sounds like the perfect balance of projects! And I'm impressed that you've repurposed that shawl yarn already. I might just borrow your trick of knitting something easy while watching the news. I usually read my news but being able to knit and take some comfort from knitting is such a good idea.

I think it’s frogging season. So many people are posting frogging videos, I just had to rip back to the border of a sweater in progress… it’s crazy!
My sweater in progress is the Buddleia Blouse in Navy lace weight. I keep a pair of dead simple socks on needles for when I don’t have the brain energy for lacy knitting. Highly recommend! Once you know your needle and stitch count, socks are mostly brainless. I knit them two at a time, toe up, generally, on 2.25 with about 64 stitches. The stitch count varies somewhat depending on stitch pattern, but that’s about it.

You should probably coin frogging season, I love that 😂 But I feel for you ripping back lace weight! I did finally re-cast on that sock and am definitely starting to understand the appeal. Always having a pair on the needles for mindless knitting sounds kind of perfect!

Cables are tough for me since I have issues with my hands. I broke down and purchased a bunch of cable holders. I just can’t do them without help. I’m also ripping back a lot. Just making sure I get a good fit and clean, neater stitches. Happy Knitting 🧶

I'm glad you found something that helps! Cables can be so tough with our added health issues. Happy knitting to you too ☺🧶

I am just starting socks as well. It is a new skill set that I am finding to be a bit of a challenge but I am enjoying the process. ☺️🧶

I feel exactly the same way (makes me miss the built-in "ease" of sweaters). Nice to know we're both facing the challenge together ☺
