Thank you Amber! You have saved me so much time searching for scrappy left over sock yarn projects! I am indebted to you! Now to finish the current hat gift!
Thank you so much Amber for all your hard work. I purchased 4 x 100gr skeins, all different colors ( silly me I should have bought them all the same for a sweater ) and after them languishing on my shelf not knowing what to make with them, you have helped me out immensely.
nice collection of uses for all the minis. Not just advent, but all those bits and pieces I seem to have a lot of in my stash. Maybe 2023 will be the year of the scrappy projects for me.
Great list! I had to laugh, a lot of the shawls are in my "favorites" already!! I just don't want anything I have to seam. 😉 I did an advent shawl, I made it wider & STILL ended up with walnut sized balls of yarn left over from the 20gr balls. 🤷 It was the festive wrap by Ambah O'Brian. (I also overdyed a couple colors, they just didn't look like they "matched"). I love your idea for the marled wrap/scarf, I looked, I don't have worsted, but I'm sure 2 fingering would work too. I always thought 2 strands of fingering was a sport weight...2 strands sport is DK...etc 🤔
Hi Patti! That's great that you already had some of these patterns saved! There are so many great ones. It was hard to eliminate some to get down to 50! Maybe I'm wrong about the fingering and fingering making a Dk weight, but I'm pretty sure almost every pattern I've seen that calls for two strands of fingering held together says it will make a DK weight. That one pattern was the only one I've ever seen that said two fingering strands equal sport weight. Oh boy! Not sure! Anyway, thank you for watching!
Oh Amber!!,!that was so so FUN!!,thank you so much for all UR work,,,,!!! Loved every minute,,,, Some in my favs,,,,and some new ones,,,Some on the go,,,!! The round and round cowl,ll is fun,,,Have it on the go ,,with leftover blues,,,Also have jelly roll blanket started ,,,,with leftover kroy sock yarns,,!! You are a treasure!!! Elaine🏡🏡🏡🏡 Alot of these going in my library!!!!love scrappy anything,,,especially socks,,,,!!
Thanks for this very inspiring video ❤ you did a great research that shows us the many beautiful projects we can make with scrap yarn and minis. I am looking forward to cast on a wonderful chevron project with all my leftovers. This will be wonderful relaxing and mindless Christmas knitting
Sooo much fun! I want to do several of these with my own scraps! I didn’t realize how dear most advents are until I started to research them this year, so I decided to pass for now. Maybe next year…
Hi Sarah! It was a really fun episode to do the research for! I haven't personally knitted many scrappy projects, but I sure do love the look of them and want to make more!
I love how much variety you can play with with these projects - you could go with a quite cohesive palette or just go crazy with an explosion of colour. Thank you for putting this list together!
This is great - I've been looking for some scrappy projects. I've knit some of them. The Leftover City Cowl is excellent if you want to teach yourself how to do colour work.
Garter Squish by Stephen West is the same “pattern” basically as that Homespun House recipe, but it’s free. I know you don’t need another scrappy pattern in your life, buttttt I’ve been loving the Lullaby blanket by Tin Can Knits, it can be knit in any weight in 3 sizes and it’s been my new scrappy blanket as well as baby blanket go to. Thank you for this lovely, super fun episode to knit to!
Oh you're amazing! Thanks for letting me know about the garter squish! It didn't come up when I was searching ravelry for scrappy projects, but there are soooo many patterns out there so I'm not surprised. Thank you so much for watching and giving me a couple more suggestions!
I came across this podcast it popped up on my screen I am so glad I watched it. It has got to be one of the best informative podcasts I have ever watched. Thanks so much for this list. I want to order so many gorgeous mini skein advents and kits but was feeling like I didn’t know how to use them. Now I have ideas ❤.
I enjoy these posts about using up scraps. I’d love to see one on how to store and catalog those bits and pieces we want to hang on to for repairs and such.
Thank you so much for all the time, research, editing etc. it took for you to curate this wonderful list Amber! I appreciate this so much. My languishing Advent minis thank you!
Hi Amber. I agree with the others who say mattress stitch is a great way to seam. Always enjoy seeing a podcast from you! I hope you have a very merry Christmas season.😊
I am a new viewer to your podcasts and boy, did I ever pick an amazing one to follow! Thank you so much for sharing all the "scrappy" patterns, for creating the bundle on Ravelry and for sharing all the info about each and every one of them. This is super!!
Thank you, Amber! I love your choices, and your presentation. Some patterns were familiar to me, but many were not. What a great selection! Now I just have to decide which one(s) I’m going to choose!
Thank you for this! There are so many great ideas here for not only advent calendars but scrappy leftovers. I especially love all of the scrappy blankets that you highlighted 💕
Amber, this was an awesome episode. I absolutely love all scrappy projects. I do have a cozy memories and and scrappy granny stripe on the go, oh yeah and a Battenburg as well.

So many ideas thank you there are just so many I wish I had more time!I have advent swap I’ll be making scrappy socks also a bought calendar from blue fern yarn she has released a pattern to go with it called babbling brook going to try that too.
Thank you,Amber, for a great podcast! I went directly to the bundle and selected a few options. Magic knot! That's what it's called! I'm going to be honest, I am always nervous about my ends unraveling so I always knot them off and weave them in like crazy. I might be nervous about doing the magic knot method.
I recently found your channel and have been binge watching back episodes. Thank you so much for mentioning the Scrappy Knit Shawl on this episode. I started it a few days ago, and I am in love with working on it. It is so much fun. Totally mindless and carefree. I'm looking forward to having this to wrap up in while sitting on the porch in the early Spring days, here at my home in Northeastern Kentucky. If you hadn't mentioned it, I never would have known about it and would have missed all this fun. Love your content!
Just found you, Thank You for your time, it is greatly appreciated. I have already made a trip to see the Bundle, and have subscribed. Blessed Holidays.

Thank you for taking the time to put together this video, as well as the shawl video. You published both videos at just the right time of year. I know it takes a long time to do the research. Thanks for doing it for all of us! I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving with your family!
Have you watched Stephen West’s UA-cam video on how to weave in ends while you’re knitting? He calls it the weavin’ Stephen and it’s so easy, you’ll never find weaving ends tedious. I love scrappy socks and the weavin’ Stephen technique is a godsend.
@@alovelyyarn after I posted this, The Crazy Sock Lady posted a video on how she weaves in ends. A slight variation on the weavin’ Stephen. The universe may be trying to tell you something. Lol
Amber, thank you for putting together this bundle! Soooo many great options, this will be fun picking a pattern for my advent this year. Happy knitting!
Hi Amber, It’s Caroline from Arizona (Javalina). How wonderful that you included the video of your minis at the end for inspiration. The clips of snow falling were very picturesque to usher in the holiday season. The time and effort you took to put this episode together is much appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! 🍁🍂
Fun look at scrappy patterns! I'm not into buying minis but I have nice leftovers from projects to use. Last year I made the Log Cabin blanket pattern you showed but made it 5 x 6 and I bordered them all with a pale gray and it is such a warm and squishy blanket that everyone loves. Thanks for all of your time in putting the lists together. I will be picking one to start on after Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
