as a Bostonian who survives the entire country hating Celtics (yay!), Red Sox (yay!), Bruins (yay!) and Patriots (yay!) - go Oilers. Entire Boston is rooting for you guys.
Yes Bruins fans for oilers!
Hi ladies! Not sure if someone said this already but Juneteenth is not celebrating the abolishment of slavery. Slavery had been abolished for two years but no one had told the slaves in Galveston, TX and Juneteenth celebrates the day the slaves in Galveston were informed they were free
Thanks so much girls. As always. It continues to flabbergast me how you can have, at the time I finished watching, 12,070 views and only 613. COME ON PEOPLE! How hard is it to touch the thumbs up icon?! Any way I always love the show you girls put on. I always learn so much, get inspired so much, find new patterns and new yarn AND always have a giggle and a laugh. It was lovely to be outside with you and the birds. Till next time xx Christine, Australia
Chit-chat with you two is mostly why I tune in!! Don't ever change that, you're both priceless. Oh, ok, throw in a little yarn talk if you must. Love, Sally in Portland, Oregon.
I love the author Jennifer Chiaverini. I enjoyed all of the Elm Creek Quilt series - just a nice story. Recently she has been writing historical fiction - I really enjoyed Switchboard Soldiers. Thanks for a great episode!
I understand the closing of your IGA. My late husband of 7 months took over his Dad’s Dairy Queen for 60 years. My 3 children learned such excellent work ethics and all of their employers love them. We had some regulars..we called them that😊 for so many years. So many stories , I hired so many teenagers for their first jobs, some still friends. I hope your parents enjoy their freedom😄😄
Hi, Girls! Nan from San Francisco here. LOVED Barbra Steisand’s autobiography, listened to her read it…fascinating! Also, library app…Libby! It’s great, I never spend $ on books anymore! Also, anything by Bill Bryson and David Sedaris is hysterically funny! Thanks so much for another wonderful podcast and Star’s Rav page!❤️❤️
The lawn mowing has me cracking up!!
Both of those sweaters look SO good on you both. Totally your colors!
You're parents' retirement is huge. Congratulations to them and your entire family. A big change for not only them, but also for the community. This is big stuff--family grocery store for almost 60 years???? Amazing. I hope your parents have decades of enjoying life ahead of them.
Congrats to your parents! My hubby and I love nothing more than seeking out the privately owned mom and pop grocery stores
Congratulations on your parents retirement! What an accomplishment. It’s obvious how proud you are of them.
Jodi, LOVE your hair! It’s very flattering on you.
Watching this video a day later and guess what? Started watching and the lawn mower came over at the same time as yours! They do know knitters. (They don't like us....? LOL)
Jodi, how funny - my father always wanted a goat! You saying that made me smile.
Always enjoyable watching you two. I have recently started knitting with Nutiden. It makes me slow down and enjoy the process. I wind the fiber into smaller balls to knit from.
Oh you girls crack me up. I so enjoy watching you both laughing out loud to myself❤
The Stanley Cup needs to be in Canada! Game 6 was amazing and I cannot wait for game 7 tomorrow. Go Oilers! (Aloha Annie)
What a great episode--and now another one to watch!! Yeah!! Jodi, you look fabulous today--glowing! Traci, I love your patio furniture, and YES, make a colorwork vest!! You have been wanting to do that forever! Congratulations to your parents! Retirement is good--lots of knitting time!! And, congratulations to Maddie, and having all your kids out of school! I get my audio books through the library. I would recommend, The Wrong Daughter and Mad Honey. Have fun on your East coast cruise! While in Maine, go to Acadia park and eat lobster!!
Hi Tracie & Jodi, I would love to be on that Fantasy Island to knit with you both. Happy Retirement to your parents, all the best for them to enjoy the next leg of their journey. Always love watching you share all the knitting goodness, and your warm personalities. xo 🤗
Happy summer! Always so wonderful to watch you two. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Love the patio podcast!!!
If you loved Bridgerton...you have to watch Queen Charlotte...amazing!
Remember that authors are creatives too. Just like we support our knit designer friends by purchasing their patterns for our making archives, and all that beautiful yarn from indie dyers for our stash "collections," please buy real books from an independent bookstore if you are able and willing. 🧶📚💓 And a hearty congratulations to your parents on retirement from a community-oriented & family-owned business, I really hope the new store honors their legacy! 🎈🎈🎈
Amen! I had a 3000 book library for decades. Sadly, a brain injury prevents that kind of reading, so I rely on my library's Libby app to listen whilst I knit.
Hello from North Cackalacky! (aka North Carolina) Jody, I love the color of your sweater! Tracie, I love yours as well!
You girls are so funny......and sweet.....and loving.....and totally family oriented. I just love you two! Jodi, you crack me up with your camera closeups.....you are so bold and shameless. :D As for linen, Tracie, you said you feel so happy today. I believe linen is one of the natural fibers that gives off energy that lifts your spirits and energy! No wonder you love your linen sweater. It IS so lovely!
Jodi, those colors of unspun are amazing!
Thank yo so much for showing my pattern, and for your kind words!! (isla top)
I made Snowy Forest by Midori Hirose with Manchelopi + mohair a couple of years ago. I love it!!! That's 15 stitches. But I know you can knit at many gauges with this yarn. You're right - just wind lots of yarn off the plate, rather than tugging. I had very few breakages. And it's great value.
First time listener ! I enjoyed your cheerful chatter so much. Thank you, I’ll be back
I LOVED Eric!!! My husband watched it with me and he loved it too! ❤
Lots of fun in the sun..
Thanks for sharing yarn goodiness etc.
Mary Jane is currently in Australia, should have a chat with her about our great wool industry... Hopefully one day you beautiful ladies can make it here in Australia especially for the amazing Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show in July every year....love watching you guys live but missed out this timelol, missed the notification at 2.30 this morning ha ha 😂
Jodi, I love your Love Note. The color is stunning
Love watching you ladies now I have found you.
Here in New Zealand we are having rain and yuk days. But great to have inside knitting days.
Loved the grad talk… my baby graduates this year too❤ amazing time of a parents life 🎉
The sound effects today were entertaining. Great visit
I was also going to say the same that this is supposed to be Elin Hildebrand’s last book. I then later read that she is going to be rebranding and switching to writing a new genre for her (no longer her summer Nantucket novels )
‘Never Lie’ by Freida McFadden. Great twists!!
Love the podcast ❤ all the way from Australia
Also, Simon Beckett has a great thriller series about a detective David Hunter.
I knit Dreyma by Jennifer Steingass with 1 strand of Nutiden plus 1 strand of mohair. It worked best for me to roll the Nutiden into a ball by hand before I used it. I put the yarn in a bowl at my feet (separate bowls for the 2 yarns). Never pull as you’re knitting. Unwind a length every once in a while as needed.
Looking forward to seeing you both at knit city Calgary! I loved the new Bridgerton series - I designed a whole yarn collection around it in collaboration with unwrapped yarn - all the notions 🩷
Can’t wait to see you too, Sophie!!! Your Bridgeton collection is gorgeous!
Thanks for another fun episode. I live in California and we get all our audiobooks for free from the public library on the Libby app. Maybe you have something similar in Canada.
Jodi that is your color!!!! Gorgeous.
Tracie I made the Cloud sweater and it’s one of my favorites! I used snefnug by itself and it’s gorgeous. That sweater does have a closer neckline so I would consider whether or not the yarn would itch. Snefnug is of course so soft and not itchy at all
Love you two! Have you heard of the Canadian podcaster, Pairs Well with Knitting? Jennifer, the host, had a recent podcast reviewing unspun yarns that she has knit with. It is very informative with great tips. She is quite a cute gal and fun to watch.
I'm rereading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt. Loved it in 1994, and I'm living it now.
The hueloco yarn is delicious! As the gg would say, “she hit it out of the ballpark.”
Great podcast! Congratulations to your whole family on a wonderful business! Quince & Co was Portland Maine based and the yarns are still carried there. The lawn mower didn’t distract me but added to the ambience. Are you following Fleece and Harmony's (PEI) year long blanket blocks? Your banter about everything is delightful!!!❤❤❤
it's adorable!
I made the Sophie’s Sweater by Eri Shimizu in Manchelopi. It was my summer project during the hottest, driest summer here in Western Australia.
With an unspun yarn cake, there is less pull on the yarn if you pull it from the center instead of from around it.
Always love catching up with you!! I have a couple book recommendations: Michael Bennett “Better the Blood” and the sequel just came out “Return to Blood” both follow a New Zealand Detective Hana Westerman and on a totally different genre, “The Lost Flock” by Jane Cooper, the audiobook is read by her - such a fascinating life story!!
Hi ladies. I just finished Christmas Bohjalian’s The Princess of Los Vegas and I recommend it to you. 😊
I want to knit the Island to Island vest too!
I just finished reading Sandwich by Catherine Newman. Soooo good. Sweet and funny and sad-a family’s annual vacation on Cape Cod.
Whooo hooo great game tonight - bring on game 7 you got this Edmonton
If my team isn't in the tournament (MN Wild) I always cheer for the Canadian teams. McDavid blew my mind the other night. Wow dude he is from another planet.
melody Hoffman has several patterns for unspun Icelandic yarn. I made the wild posey pattern in red unspun and I love it. I Am wanting to make Wilfreda in unspun.
Hi from Missouri !
Libraries have to buy their access to the ebooks and there are restrictions on readers accessing those files due to copyrights and licensing. One person to one book file. I just read a book called Death Winter Stroll by Francine Mathews. Was a great book.
I held Manchelopi with Shibue mohair for a Turtle Dove! Butter
I also noticed a difference with the glossier exfol..thought I was imagining it and their mascara nice ( natural look)
Conner McDavid went to McDowell high school in Erie Pa where I live and he was in my grandsons classes. He was,on the Erie otters with your now coach. We want the Oilers to win . We are Pittsburgh penguin fan any other time😄😄
Hi from Latvia ❤
It is blazing hot here in Indiana!
Hey from California
🥰
Depending on your preference, a good series is by John Sanford Prey series, has probably 20 or mor3 in series, but really good
Hi I also follow Chandi, of Expression Fiber Arts. In addition to having incredible yarn and patterns, she's an avid reader. She had an advanced copy of a book she said was really good. I read a sample and sounds good, Three Skeins of Caledonia Blue, by Elizabeth Duvivier. I've ordered a copy, to be shipped by 7/1. I recommend checking out the book and Expression Fiber Arts. Have a great summer. Sonya
How do you find information on the cruise?
Hi girls you need to read Last passenger by Wiil Dean, it was recommended by My yarny corner podcaster Alex. It is a fantastic read! 😘😘😘
Watching on replay in Churchville, NY. HOT here!
It is 800 degrees in Jersey
“Don’t forget to write” , “the Bodyguard”, “the secret book of flora Lea”
Wishing oilers good luck from Chicago…

Get Oily and knit . Lol 👏🙏🏼💕🇨🇦 1:49:57
Hey from nyc.
Please share your new outdoor furniture!
Jodie, can you get an audible membership in Canada? Also, that is supposed to be Elin's last book, she is retiring.
My favorite girls hello
Ok I really like that tote she has at the 1:58:53 mark. I couldn’t make it out where she got that?
Where will the yarn shop be?
I keep getting mixed up on how old my children (adult) are as well!
Where do I find cruise info?
The lip gloss is really pretty, But the pink door is copyrighted. It's a place where you can buy yd and yd of fabric, And it is called the pink door.
Go oilers!!!! Go McDavid!!!
Fort Worth TX
Jodi …I missed the pattern you’re wearing.. great color
Why not get audiobooks through thr library which costs nothing, you have to wait but. . .
Ms Tracie please what the name of your mug ? 😊
100+F in Maine
Do you guys have a library near you? I NEVER buy a book … get ebooks, audio or books at our library. If they don’t have it… they get it from another library…
😢just lost my comment😢.
Thanks for your conversation, etc.
Be grateful for every day……year; and take time to do what gives you joy, fulfillment, rest, and peace.
How did we not know this about STAR ATHENA...?!?!?! 🐑🐑🐑
Audio books for free… “hoopla “
Go Oilers Go...
Hi have you girls read, YOU?
I have knitted with unspun yarn, lopi, for over 40 years and never had a big problem with breaking. Just spit splice if it happens. My advice is to work from the center out.
