+George Harvey That sounds like a south eastern U.K accent. It is a bit different indeed thou. I grew up just outside of Old Heathfield in Vines Cross myself.
+Sean Mills Apparently you haven't talked to anyone from Wigan then. There are what Americans call different accents in the U.K. The far North does not quite talk the same as where I grew up in Vines Cross which is just outside of Old Heathfield in southern Sussex. It's not the same as the difference between city people in the U.S v.s the North or Southern part of the U.S but there is a difference on how people talk.
@@HalendleofLoc them fucking led's on the fretboard were so annoying when i saw them. i couldnt believe the band allowed it. so distracting & so not slipknot. nothing against the man but i hope he takes the hint & keeps them off. nothing wrong with the ones on the top of the neck though. maybe dim them a little

Alex is doing a fantastic job for the band, It's huge shoes to fill. Same when Jason Newsted, took over bass for Metallica when Cliff Burton passed. Keep up the great work Alex.
HOLY SHIT, HE TALKED!!! It was awesome to see you live, V! Sadly it was the night where you passed out in Hartford. I'm glad you still got to play the bass solo in AOV. Impressive Bass, that is!
+shannon sharp I'm very familiar with Chris Wolstenholme being a huge Muse fan and know he plays a lot of Status basses, was wondering if there was a name drop and I wasn't disappointed, lol. Amazing basses. Way out of my price range :(
Considering Joey was Slipknot's drummer from its inception in 1995 until the end of 2013, I mean, yeah he's viewed as THE Slipknot drummer. But Jay's been a fucking excellent replacement for Joey, and he fits in well with the band. Unfortunately a lot of people will not view it that way, either because they're spiteful and bitter trolls, or just out of sheer loyalty to Joey and bitterness over his being replaced. Alice in Chains has the same thing right now. Their lead vocalist, Layne Staley, pretty much dropped out of the band in 1996 and went recluse with heroin addiction until 2002 when he died. William Duvall was brought in, in 2006, and even now a significant portion of AIC fans refuse to accept him just because he's "not Layne". The replacement of one band member, mainly an 'original' band member, often never goes down well with the fans. It brings out the worst in the metal fandom if you ask me, some of the shit the replacements get is unreal, even if there's nothing wrong with their performance.
Obi-Juan The difference with Layne Stanley is that he was the vocalist. One could argue that a new vocalist changes the entire sound of the band. Case and point, Black Sabbath. Don't get me wrong, I love both Ozzy and Dio, but with Ozzy, Black Sabbath had their own sound, and with Dio, it sounded like a heavier Rainbow. Both are amazing and I love them, but changing a vocalist is much more difficult than a drummer, bassist, or guitarist.
Jake McB Very well said, man.. Especially the case with AIC and Layne in my opinion..personally I think Layne had one of the greatest voices (at least male) in music not just their genre of Rock/Metal. His voice had an extremely haunting effect to it and was a MASSIVE part of their sound..not to mention the harmonies he laid down on their albums and how perfectly his voice meshed with Jerry's when they did harmonies. William is a great vocalist as well and very talented, but I just don't think he or anyone else could ever do much justice to Layne's voice and the original AIC that fans originally fell in love with. I see why they kept the name, but part of me wishes they had continued under something else. Some musicians are just too important to a bands sound and can never be replaced..especially singers but also musicians with such distinct sounds and styles like Dimebag Darrell, John Bonham, Brad Norwell, Cliff Burton, etc. Enough rambling though haha, but I gotta suggest to any Layne/AIC fans who haven't already heard to check out the band Mad Season. It was a side project Layne had in the mid 90s before slipping deeper into his addiction; their only album was titled Above and had Mike McCready of Pearl Jam on guitar and Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees on drums.
It's interesting that everyone but the band claims that V-Man had no part in the recording process but what did I hear him say? He used a certain Fender body with the graphite neck WHEN RECORDING THE RECORD...?
+Jaydethepirate actually jim and corey (i'm not 100% if clown said it too) said that alex played a couple of songs on the album but mick and jim did the majority of them

Wtf? It doesn't matter! You can call yourself English, British, whatever. Im English. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I prefer British & you obviously prefer English.
Do with inspiration what you want, this guy says that he digs Mark King from level 42 but he doesn't play like him. That's irrelevant, fact is that if Mark King inspired him to start playing bass and he then went off in a different direction rather than becoming a clone of King's playing style. That's good. Who knows, there might be a Slipknot fan watching this clip going "Mark King, who is that, he must be pretty bad ass if V-man thinks of him so highly." resulting in that kid being exposed to a kind of music he wasn't aware of.
"...and i play bass in slipknot" it sounds so weird still hearing it from someone else other than paul don't get me wrong i like alex he seems like a nice person but it just feels so weird
