One of the cutest things while having a kitten is when you play with them and while playing they fall asleep and while you think how cute they are and if you should let him/her sleep they awake and are full of energy again and the playing just goes on as if nothing has happened.
First my condolences on the loss of your precious tortie. And congratulations on your new family member. I lost my two 17yro girls in the past year and 6mos later I felt compelled to rescue a sweet teenager cat who then brought me her 3 kittens. I have a cat full home again❤
my cat has dwarfism, still look like a 4-5 months old kitten even though shes 1,5 year old now. Always loves to play, but i watched some videos that said cat with dwarfism doesnt have a long lifespan. Please pray for her to be healthy forever till the end of her day. I just love her so much.
A stray mother cat had babies under our house. We could not find them no matter how much we looked. Today she brought all FIVE of her 3 week old babies to us and we've been taking care of the family! Thank you for this video!
Just rescued a kitten this week. Found her in a dumpster. Wasn’t a cat person but the way she purrs and wants constant attention and love I cannot say no. And this is her in her teenage years? Dang she’s going to be an angel as an adult.
Yup! Turn your back and in 2 seconds they are in that closet or drawer or they jumped in the fridge 🤣 nevermind keeping nice organized shelves. Put breakables away and find a new dream (but totally worth it)
My cat stayed with his mom for his first 10 weeks, got handled by humans daily and then got co-raised by my dog who is confident and taught my cat to look at me when in trouble or scared. He's the most confident, sweetest cat I know. He's super good at the vets. A lot of this happened because my dog needs to go to the vet super often so he went when the dog went and got a lot of great exposure to the vets, I have the only cat I know who walks themselves into the vets and who doesn't bite or scratch when he gets his temp checked. I brought him everywhere I went for the first 6 weeks for exposure and learning in my arms. He's super friendly to everyone and rolls over because he loves belly rubs. He's turning 9 months in 4 days!
So funny you say that. Both of my cats (1 year old and 15wk old) are apparently angel's at the vet. They let them do anything they want. Yet, when it comes time to come home and take oral liquid medicine, my 1yr old is a 'not' having any of it. I swear she knows she can get away with things around me lol
same here I got a ragdoll he’s about 6 months old, I heard a big crash then looked my silly kitten was scratching at himself in the mirror and it fell over and broke scared the crap outta him. he’s always getting into shit right now 🤣
@@jReze that's amazing! Good luck with your new baby🤎 mine was kind of a rescue: he was my landlord's cousin kitten, but he didn't care at all about him. Was living outside in the cold, dangerously close to a pit bull who managed to break free from his kennel🤧 I had to take him in. Then my landlord said I could keep him, lol. The thing is I also have a dog, who's being surprisingly chill about our newest family member, tho I can't trust them to be completely alone with each other yet.
“Adopt two” that’s what I was waiting to hear! I’ve been considering two girls who are inseparable besties in a litter. They are about 3 months old right now. I think I’m going to go for it! 🤗🌸
Go for it. I have 2 tuxedo kittens. They play together, sleep on top of one another and follow each other around. They are adorable. Originally reserved just one but following so many cat you tubers, I reserved another. Just too cute together.
i did just that! im loving my decision and theyre sleeping curled up with each other under my computer desk as i type this! they keep each other occupied and active which is great.
we adopted a senior but, my BF and I agreed our next round will be a bonded pair. Our senior has only child syndrome hard so we wont get him a playmate but we know bonded pairs are harder to adopt out
Cat siblings are the best! I have a pair of 'panther' twins and they are amazing. They cuddle, play-fight, groom each other . . . it's such a special bond.
when it was feeding time, i'd put a piece of boiled chicken on a fishing line and pull it around for my cat to hunt. she would chase it around, wrestle it and in the end she pulled it free and ate it. the look of pride on her face for a successful kill was priceless.
My kittens are at “0 days” and I have no idea about cats!!! She’s my fiancé’s cat but she’s out of town for another week and she wasn’t due until she came back! Had them last night, litter of 7 and now I’m trying to learn everything!! Thank you so much!!!
We got our kitten in December, she is 5 months now. She was super small when we got her she was the runt and wasn’t feeding well, she is now very very big for her age, still has her baby teeth, and is the most loving happy cat Iv ever met. The owner of her mum didn’t think she was going to survive due to how small she was compared to her siblings. We love her so much and so glad we took her, the time hand feeding her in the beginning and hand giveing ger kitten milk and water she is now becoming very independent but still lives her hugs and kisses
My boy was wild for the first 4 mos of his life. Literally, he lived in a forest next to a lake, with zero humans around. I got him just in time, and we bonded. He became a mama's boy, and he still is... 8 years later... I love my little man, tho. We have such a special, unique bond.
my dad found a VERY young (less than two weeks but older than 10 days) kitten in his coworkers engine during a big storm. since i’m online schooling and in a position to take care of him i stepped up and he’s now my fur baby. he’s my absolute best friends and i thank you so much for these videos. having information at hand about socializing, the whens, and hows is such a help!! thank you! lord know all of us with fur babies appreciate it!!
Our kitten is 10 months old and she's absolutely adorable. From the moment she was brought home (~10 weeks) she was just so affectionate! She regularly jumps on my desk and walks onto my chest and I have to sit there and hold her until she's satisfied. I hope she stays like that forever.
Wow Rob. Same here! My new kitten Raja (my profile pic) is 11 mts & the 1st day with me she attached to me. She loves petting and purring. Oh and eating. I am spoiling her. I bet you are also with yours. I bet our little fluffballs of love 💘 will be like this 4ever
Well you are lucky. My kitten is 10 weeks old too but he is extremely active and he is hunting everything including my feet and hands when the toys are not the option and it's started to feel a little annoying 😂
@@terryexpose do you have a “kicker” toy? That helped a lot for us. Something she could really “kill”, not just chase. That and not playing with our hands or feet with her. Good luck !
I have a 9 week old baby now. My first kitten! Usually I rescue adult cats that get overlooked at shelters. The kitten is in NO danger of being re-homed because I know she'll grow up but after this one, Unless Jackson can show me what I'm missing, I think I'll probably be the one who spends the rest of my life rescuing adults. This kitten is an energy bomb!
In January of 2007, we inherited a 7-year-old calico female, Toesie. In June we wanted to get her a companion so we adopted an 8-week-old orange-and-white tabby boy, Rusty. After a week of mutual hissing, they became inseparable. She adopted him as her stepson. Almost every afternoon when we came home from work they would be asleep together in a chair with their legs all tangled up. Then they would chase each other around the house. He turned out to be a cool, mellow, 27-pound cat. All the neighbors loved him, he traveled with us across the U.S. 17 times in our motorhome and he lived a wonderful 15 years. Toesie did a great job raising him.
I am rehoming a 10 month old kitten in two days. She did not get along with other cats in her previous home. She is lovable, playful and cuddly. Can't wait to meet her.
Thank you God bless after our 13 year old cat Kiid passed after 6 months of chemo didn't won't anymore THEN 4 feral kittens adopted us we TNR d them and now we have 4 happy healthy new family members peace brother 🎉
Me and my partner ended up taking in a stray kitten recently, we found her caught in an outside drain at 10pm at night. I couldn’t leave her there, plus the idea of her going to a shelter at such a young age didn’t sit right with us. So she’s ours now and even though she’s already a little wildling, I can’t wait to see her grow into her best self. Your videos have been amazing and to say you give out this info for free on YT for people like me, who hadn’t planned on owning a cat, has saved my world and given me the knowledge to be the best cat daddy I can possible be. So I just want to say thank you!! You’ve got a sub from me that’s for sure
On June 13th we adopted two siblings, and they have been our greatest joy! They play together, eat/drink together, sleep together, and even potty one after the other lol. It's been fun seeing who the leader is of the two and to also just watch their little personalities bloom! We love our Virgil and Dante!
Rescued my first actual kitten from a car engine 11 weeks ago. She had no siblings, no mother the car had been towed so she had no chance. She was at least two week since she had just started growing her teeth. I have three cats already and my youngest female took her in and she now has an adoptive daughter. She’s feisty, but a lover. Tiki her now “mom” is a great teacher she’s only a year but so chill. She even showed her not to bite me it was so cute. Her name is Titania. She’s named after my German Shepherd Titan who passed away in august. I felt he sent her to us. Im loving watching her grow up. A beautiful black kitty with orange eyes. Thanks Jackson for the tips! I already got her a harness and exposed her to the dogs, my family, and children. I’ve always watched you on TV since I was little. I’m older now but cats keep me young! Much love 🙏💕
I watched this video for the first time almost two years ago when I rescued a beautiful tuxedo kitten off the street aged 5 to 6 weeks. Now I'm watching this video again because I've just adopted two little girls aged 7 to 8 weeks who were found abandoned near the highway.
You helped me so much Jack! I adopted two cats and 5 years later one of them passed away from cancer (God Bless you Chiqui! Rest in Peace Baby) Then, year and a half later, I am yet again a cat mom of a new rescue 8 month old cat. He's bringing such great memories already. ❤ 😊
I just got a 2month old female orange kitten and she is so much fun to play with and she is so sweet and loves to be petted. My kids love her and she loves my kids
My baby is finally 6 months I got her at 4 months from an abusive owner to a high kill shelter- she lost her leg in the process- it’s been so rewarding to see her confidence grow- used every technique from Jackson galaxy and her comfort with me and connection happened within a few days
Me and my partner live in a 34 square meter apartment and decided to get a kitten, we did not know the importance of getting two. Fortunately i am unable to work right now so i can spend all my hours a day with our little boy and omg does he need stimulation and company. I love it but sometimes i catch myself getting frustrated and that's when i watch your videos! You teaching me the importance of interacting in the right way with a "teenager" kitten is what makes both me and our kitten stay sane😅 He just turned 6 month old this month and I've definitely noticed a big change in him and his needs, I didn't understand it because I've never had a cat or dog before but just as humans cats have this confusing, very testing teenager phase in life. I just want to thank you for making videos like at all because you've taught me so much to get this as right as possible being a newbie cat mom!
we adopted 2 littermates… and then we went back for their brother. best decision we ever made, pet-wise. so rewarding and interesting to watch them grow and interact. they like explore and play in coordinated ways, they sleep in a puddle and they LOVE their human servants. our family is very blessed and enriched to have them in our lives.
I just adopt a kitten , I have him for 9 days and I love him.😂😂❤ he really helped me with my emotions and how I felt. Thanks to him, now i feel happier ❤❤❤
My cat gave birth to 5 kittens and they are now 3 weeks old. My cat tried her best to hide them from us, she moved them 3 times until she settled with under the couch where no one could see or get to them. Now they're 3 weeks old and are wobble-walking EVERYWHERE and she can't hold them back anymore lmao.
Here in Istanbul, with a lot of stray cats, we get a lot of kittens. Even though my focus is on TNR because life for kittens is just too cruel, seeing kittens of all ages ... it is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. I will find a new nest every week and it is still like the first time you see a tiny kitten! The paw, the face, the ears, the legs, the tiny everything. I do NOT get how people (with no cats at home) do not fall in love with them and take them home (90% of them will not be adopted, will have to stay on the streets) My house is full of cats I've rescued from the street and my landlord is causing us trouble, so I really can't take in any more ... but kittens are simply the best. And cats stay kittens forever!
I feel guilty for leaving my kitten at the vet tonight. She's getting fixed tomorrow but I imagine she's scared without me. Hopefully I can undo the confusion she's having being left in a strange place. I picked her up from the vet and she was trembling but by the time I got her home and out of the crate she was back to her playful self like nothing happened. Thanks to everyone who replied. Good luck with your little fuzz balls, hope they all enjoy long happy lives. 💖
I feet you even with two brothers I was so worried . I called the vet to ask ahead of time will they be next to eachother, I requested hey be next to each other . spoke with vet office about my worry for them and called to check on them. Maybe call to check on them might help for you . if you are like me I worry about bothering people, but I pushed myself to do it anyways. Maybe a call will help and getting more info about what is going to happen will there be anyone with you furbaby etc etc. I really hope I could be helpful for you! I know what that feels like and I want to help you feel more at ease.
@@pleasurepanda3285 your welcome. omg I feel that way all the time, but when I called they were so nice about it and of course I would say I am so sorry to bother you!! Lol I tend to say that a lot because I always feel I am. They were nice though and they even called me the next day to check on my boys which was AWSOME !!! Just express how you feel and if they truly care about animals they will understand your love for your furbaby!!! 💜💙💜💙Also you will feel better too😊 if you want, i would love to hear how it went if you do!!
I've been raising some kittens since they were 4 weeks old to about 4 months now. Must say it has been one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done. Nothing like coming home to a house full of kittens playing.
I'm so glad you advocate for getting two kittens so hard. It convinced me to adopt two kittens from a stray litter, and even though they're teenagers now, they don't try to push my 16-year-old cat's buttons too much. They'll get a little close to her to sniff noses or something sometimes and she hisses at them, but they don't stalk or pounce on her because they're getting all their energy out with each other (and with toys, of course). I think my senior cat's quality of life is much better than it would have been if I had only taken one kitten in. So thank you, Jackson!
Learning about the kitten stages has actually helped me understand my adult boy Rudy. He's around 6 yrs. I got him from my aunt who had him when he was a kitten (the guy she was dating was allergic to cats & her daughter wanted a dog, so Rudy was given over to me). He had no toys, no scratching post, and his cat tree was too small for his size & not very comfortable or interactive. As a result, although I've bought him plenty of toys & other furniture (something the siblings I lived with at the time hated cuz I was "wasting money on unnecessary things" as our family cats also had no toys or posts/trees), he hardly plays, and I think it's because he didn't really learn during that critical 6 month phase. I'm hoping to get him a younger cat/kitten friend who might be able to encourage him into more playing. He's a happy loving cat otherwise, doubly so after I moved away from my stingy family this year.
I've just got an 8 week old kitten. She was socialised well, other animals, children, people, in a quite hectic and busy household. I've had her here less than 24 hours and she's bounding around playing with everything i got her, including the boxes i saved for her and my slippers. All wide eyed and getting into the adventure playground i cobbled together out of old furniture, cushions, bedding etc. Seems very confident and not startling at every new sound. It's quite a change from my previous kittens who weren't socialised well and were quite timid - they didnt stay that way. But the difference is huge.
Can confirm the wild child stage! We just adopted a five month old kitten after losing our 18 year old girl, and JT (for Captain Kirk) is a WILD CHILD. We're into the demonspawn kitty stage. I've had only senior cats since 2015ish and have quite forgotten what the kitten stage is like. JT has claimed all the stuffies in the house because those are better for him to chew on than my hand/arm/leg/whatever. Jackson Galaxy's My Cat From Hell series was hugely helpful in understanding the behaviors at the shelter amd now JT's sundowner hyperactivity.
I remember having to plan my entire day around when my kitten was sleeping so I could get anything done. But then it's over before you know it and you kind of miss it.
I'm so thankful that our kitten was with a foster family with 9 kids during the critical development phase. He got used to being held by everyone and as a result, he's so tolerant. It also makes vet visits much easier.
"At six months old kittens abruptly become teenagers" SOOOO TRUUUUEEEEE!!!!!! Thats the age where they all decide i am secretly a tree for climbing and scratching hahahahaha. Or pouncing off the cabinets onto me head.
I was so proud of my kitty she's about 10 weeks old and my niece who just turned 5 came over yesterday and my niece finally got a hold of her and I was very shocked that she didn't scratch her or anything it's like she knew that she was a little person and she kept her claws to herself I was so proud of her anyway I just wanted to share
Oh my gosh!!! I had two older ragdolls that passed away and a 14 month old rag doll that passed away due to a virus... So now I have two kitties, another 14 month old, and a three-month-old... My house is turned upside on a daily basis... And I absolutely love it 💞
We were lucky enough to find and rescue a stray momma and seven kittens. Mom was skin and bones when we found her. All the kittens were socialized and have had their shots and check ups and are sleeping in their new homes now. Momma is healthy, about to be spayed, and living the good life- finally putting on weight and enjoying some peace and quiet from the kids. Thanks for all that you do for cats!
My two cats just turned 1 year old last month. I raised them since they were about a week old. Bottle fed them for weeks, wiped their butt and helped them pee and poo. Never thought I could develop such a close bond with cats. They're normally somewhat independent. Not mine. They're such needy jerks 😄❤️ They've got each other, but they smother me constantly. They're more co-dependant than my puppy.
I recently adopted a rescued kitten, your videos especially this one helped me not just care for him but understand him as well. Thank you from one cat daddy to another
Thanks Cat Daddy 🥳 2 weeks ago I reduced a 5 month old orange male from the scary outside!! Took time to gain his trust but I finally did. So now I have a 5-6 month old in my home (which is not large) w TONS of cat toys, a cat tree near a window w feeders outside and lots of the fishing pole wands w feathers at the end. No small bells though. Those can be a dangerous choking hazard or they can get their nails caught in them. Not good. Plenty of healthy wet food and 2 cat boxes. From what I’ve gathered from this video … I’m in for one hell of a ride for the next several weeks 🎉 He’s only 5 months and already crazy as heck!!! Thanks a lot for the videos and advice Jackson 🏆🥇 They’ve helped a lot already!!
You know I've had my kitten for 12 weeks now and he was very careful in the beginning. The thing that started to give him confidence was play! Now he's pushing new boundaries everyday trying out new places and things in our home ❤️
These videos have been so helpful! I found a litter of abandoned kittens in June, they were around 1 week old. Knowing what they need and how they develop has helped me so much! I also used your videos to figure out how to introduce them to my 18 month old cat Miley. Now we're 4 months in and the kittens are thriving! If anyone else is in the same situation and looking for information, another channel I'd highly recommend is Kitten Lady's channel!
My cat is turning 2 in a couple of weeks and honestly I considered him a kitten until about 1.5 years, plus he was still growing and developing muscle until then. It’s amazing what they go through in such a short (to us) amount of time!
My baby boy is going on 6 months & he’s a little rowdy but I couldn’t be prouder of his growth he’s a sweet heart & he’s recently learned how to play fetch 😳 1 of his new nicknames has become puppy ! He’s my first kitten so I’ve busted my ass making sure he feels supported & safe & confident! I love this channel !!
Getting two kittens instead of one was the best thing and so much easier in my opinion. They keep each other company. If it was just one, I believe it would be lonely or grow too dependent of me.
It truly is amazing to watch them grow up, I rescued a mother and her 2 sons who gave birth in our garden and we ended up keeping all 3 it's been such a wonderful experience
We just adopted three 8-week olds! They came to us very well socialized. Only one of them hissed and it was very short-lived. They are all so adorable! This video came at just the right time.
I just want to thank you for this vid, its the 1st one I watched when searching for whats a normal kitten behavior like because honestly we just adopted a kitten and I was starting to doubt my decision, after watching your video I feel confident about it and we had already put a deposit on a 2nd kitten same age give or take a week or 2 max(different litter and rescue raised in a foster home) that I was seriously considering cancelling that. So a big Thank you, I hope I can get through these new weeks
Jackson Galaxy is “the bomb”! I love how he “gets” the cat mentality and subsequent behavior. If we are going to live with cats it's logical to think and interact from their point of view. Great examples: (not) cat bathing, the whole litter box situation, why squirt bottles don’t work and better ways to manage behavior. Thank you JG
This is not only adorable and fun to watch but so educational, and just what I needed right now! I'm working up a story, and needed to refamiliarize myself with kittens, since I've been rescuing senior cats for the last decade. Now I feel prepared to get this right!
Thank you always for your videos, they are very helpful and informative. We just received an emergency kitten we think is about a week old at most, its day 3 for us and we're doing our best to help with feeding and making sure they defecate/urinate after each feeding. With all the help we've learned from your videos/shows we're doing our best keeping the little guy alive, warm, and hopefully happy.
we adopted our first cat EVER... a 7 week old kitten that is now 9 weeks old... He is such a sweetheart with a whole lot of energy,... especially around at 3 am LOL I can't wait to get through the year 🥲😍
I have cats that are close to being fully grown and I have a kitten, and it is fascinating to see the differences in their movements. The two cats's movements are fluid and graceful while the kitten's is rigid and clunky because they are still learning.
Man your enthousiasm is zo incredible. I've just gotten kittens of my own and I love them. I have a lot of experienced people helping me with raising them and taking the best care of them I can. You're one of them ;)
I have 2 kittens now 5 week but have been with me from day 0. Mom was hit by a car and gave birth to these 2 and then died. So I rescued them. Thank you for this info. I have always loved your show's.

It's important for owners to understand their pets. Not only so they get a real understanding of their pets but it;'s fascinating! Cats are amazing creatures!
My Bella is almost 6 and I got Tabby at about 12 weeks .It has taken them 3 months to become buddies- I let things progress naturally. They were both spayed as early as I possibly could, before puberty, and I highly recommend it for ANY pet owner! Your baby will be much better for it, especially indoor cats. Jackson is the Cat Guru!😊😊
I adopted two kittens last July and I gained so much valuable info from watching your videos! Thank you! It's been such an amazing and fun year watching them grow and change into the amazing cats my girls are.
My two females are a year old, every single day is new. I tamed and vetted “Momma’s Last Litter” of five. We had litter upon litter at our apartment complex and I was determined to fix Momma Cat who was throwing 3-4 litters a year. Huge project due to COVID, $6/gallon gas, time of year, clinic vet shortage, no low cost local spay neuter places and an expensive spay complication. The impact on the population is amazing . I foster failed and have two of the most fun girls, constantly pranking me and being just so fun. The one with the serious complications is like a golden retriever in behavior. It’s easy to forget they were feral because they are so dang awesome.
We've always rescued, adopted 2 together, either dogs or cats, and they have always turned out to be litter mates. I'm a firm believer in having 2. They keep each other company and always have each other. It's a beautiful thing ❤
We had lost our beloved cat last year and recently got a kitten. She was super cuddly when we first got her and now is in non stop play mode. We play with her and give her all the attention she needs, but i noticed she doesn't like to be held or cuddled much.. shell sleep next to my head or close to us, but never like cuddles like when we first got her. I kno all cats are different but its hard since our former cat was super cuddly and close to us. She dosnt hide from us and follow us in every room we go into, and when shes tired i can give her pets then, but she doesnt seem interested in really being too cuddly and will get up and move to another spot on the couch.I just want to make sure we are giving our girl everything she needs and maybe its just age, the summer heat, or just her own personality.. we love her, but i do miss how affectionate our older cat was..
I could really use this mans help right now, my dad thinks the only way to turn our 12 year old indoor outdoor cat a full indoor cat is to declaw him, every time I tell him its inhumane, he gets mad and says it's not his problem, he refuses to buy any piece of cat furniture. We've had this cat all 12 years of his life and he's never had a cat tree or a decent scratching post, I'm at the point to where I feel like I need to steal the cat in order to save him. Please like this post cause I need some real help right now.
Does your dad understand that declawing is actually amputating each toe at the first knuckle? Your cat is getting old enough to need to be indoors full time. If your father doesn’t care if the cat is harmed in that way, maybe he won’t care if the cat finds another home, either. Declawing cats is actually illegal in my state because it is recognized as cruelty (except for medical necessity).
I’ve got videos on the topic, and you can tell him that the prospects of the cat having litter box issues skyrockets after a painful surgery like this. There’s a reason it is illegal in many countries and now states in the US. It’s cruel.
@@JacksonGalaxy I can try too show him your videos on the topic but I honestly don't think it will help, to him the only opinion that matters is his own, I've been trying for 2 years now and I have no intent on giving up, but conflict does not go well in my household, i appreciate the reply and I will try my best but im running out of ideas.
@@MattAndTaniaKlecker he wouldn't watch more than 30 seconds of, as soon as realised im trying to teach him something he would storm out of the room and get mad at me because im "telling him what to do"
I just got a baby kitten like a week and a half ago and and shes my fitst cat. I've been watching all the videos trying to be a good cat mom and appreciate your videos
This year I became a first-time cat owner. My kitten was the only one left at the shelter when we went. She was 9 weeks old, 2lbs, and had only just recovered from being pretty sick. She's an 'only kitten' now at 4 months, but she's getting along well with my elderly dog and has had a lot of human-socialization. Thankfully she hasn't shown any anxiety and gets a ton of play, but I want to get her a kitty-sister when it's more feasible. She follows me everywhere, and I wouldn't trade her for the world. I wanted to say 'thank you' for your videos, even if I'm not sure you'll read this. They helped me a lot with getting over my worries before getting a cat, and in prepping my household for her. It's not fully 'catified' to my liking yet, but she's been an absolute joy.
I had a cat I fostered when she was about 5 weeks old (and kept her for her entire life). I think the most heartbreaking thing early on was when I realized the baby face had changed to a grown up cat face. **sniff** My baby was all grown up.
i never wanted a cat but found myself as the best option to give a kitten a home. its been such a positive change in my life raising that kitten. never knew how affectionate a cat could be and how much my two dogs would love her. My oldest dog prob doesn't have a whole lot longer in life and that cat will be a great companion for my younger dog to get through losing my oldest one day.
I hated cats. I have always preferred dogs. But the other week I fostered one kitten. He was all alone in the street, just almost a week old. And now I'm watching this how to raise a Cat. Damn it. 🤦🏻♂️🤣💀
Yo, guys. He survived even without a mom around her. I fed him manually in his first month. He got sick twice in the third month but he's doing well now. He's a menace! Hahahaha but my friends told me that it's normal.
I share the same story I always hated cats. Part of that is because of being allergic. I was at the grocery store and a bunch of baby kittens needed a home. My son has been praying for cat for two years. He’s been praying for a cat because I’ve been telling him no I’ve been putting stuff on my Klarna account to learn how do I take care of this creature lol
Just rescued a 6 week old grey bi-colored kitten this week from behind the wheel of a car and this is great advice. I've only taken care of older cats but he really is a nice bundle of fun. His name is Meeko McMittens
Love your channel! The cat distribution system gifted me a pregnant stray and we have six gorgeous newborns I want to ensure have the best start for when they find their forever people too. :)
Thank you for this video! I've only had cats that were 2 years when I adopted them. I'll be getting my first sphynx kitten in August, and I'm so excited and also anxious that we'll do everything right. I have an 8 year old female Ocicat right now. We lost her brother last September from kidney failure. We wanted to get her another brother, so I really hope that they get along. I watched your video on how to introduce cats to each other which was so helpful.
This was really needed. I just got a 6 month old kitten about 2 weeks ago! We got her very suddenly so I really wasn't prepared but watching all of these videos has helped IMMENSELY. I feel like I understand her better and know what she needs...at least some of the times because right now she has zoomies all of the time and seems to love getting into mischief but who can blame her when there's a whole world of our apartment to discover! Lol
Love Hannah's channel, it really helped me raise my cat from a tiny kitten last year during the pandemic, this experience and watching my cat grow seriously changed my life. Glad to know she has written a book about this, kinda wish it was in my hand the first few weeks of raising this kitten lol.
"Perfect hunter" My 1 year old kitty brings back feathers from the garden and is proud of himself. Although he is the most precious little thing I've ever met. He's super loving.
One of the cutest things while having a kitten is when you play with them and while playing they fall asleep and while you think how cute they are and if you should let him/her sleep they awake and are full of energy again and the playing just goes on as if nothing has happened.
Hahah my kitten now. She leaps off the bed right after she’s tired and then starts all over again 😂😂
Hahahahahahhah my cat dos tat too 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes 🥰 indeed
That’s my kitten 😂
Why is this so accurate
Lost our 19yr old torti yesterday, had a kitten torti appear today. It’s been 19yrs since a kitten. oh boy.
meant to be
First my condolences on the loss of your precious tortie. And congratulations on your new family member. I lost my two 17yro girls in the past year and 6mos later I felt compelled to rescue a sweet teenager cat who then brought me her 3 kittens. I have a cat full home again❤
Oh and having kittens after 17yrs is a joyful reeducation!!!!
Lost my beloved chihuahua and found my new tortie a week later ❤❤. Panda is now 14 weeks old.
my cat has dwarfism, still look like a 4-5 months old kitten even though shes 1,5 year old now. Always loves to play, but i watched some videos that said cat with dwarfism doesnt have a long lifespan. Please pray for her to be healthy forever till the end of her day. I just love her so much.
My tiny- 4lb -cat lived to be 19. Don't worry.
I had a cat that was very small, about 4 pounds her whole life. That cat lived to be sixteen. Miss you Baby.
What kind of cat?
My kitten is 3 months old and he already acts like a rebel teenager 🤦🏻♀️😂
It’s a tuxedo cat I shouldn’t be surprised!
Dang she’s going to be an angel as an adult.
yes
How could anyone put a kitten in a dumpster?
I swear the kittens under our shed were only 2-4 weeks old. They werent sturdy walking. Looked like they just opened their eyes.
Nobody told me having cats was like having permanent toddlers 🤣
omg they get into EVERYTHING
Mine is a toddler on steroids
Yup! Turn your back and in 2 seconds they are in that closet or drawer or they jumped in the fridge 🤣 nevermind keeping nice organized shelves. Put breakables away and find a new dream (but totally worth it)
@@DeeAnnieFL totally worth it
I think all pets are like that
My cat stayed with his mom for his first 10 weeks, got handled by humans daily and then got co-raised by my dog who is confident and taught my cat to look at me when in trouble or scared.
Is he a ginger tabby?
soooo jealous! you two are gonna have an awesome time!
@@bettyveronica460 Louie is a tuxedo cat so he always looks fancy.
Your dog breed?
My kitten just turned 6 months and can confirm he is indeed a crazy teenager 😂
My three kittens just turned a year old, and yeah, the 4-9mon time is brutal lol; they drove my 11yr cat old up the wall 😂
Mine tooo! But I love it
Mine too lol she always ready to go
same here I got a ragdoll he’s about 6 months old, I heard a big crash then looked my silly kitten was scratching at himself in the mirror and it fell over and broke scared the crap outta him. he’s always getting into shit right now 🤣
At 8 months I was at my breaking point. My cat is now a year & 2 months and he is finally chilling out but hes still a psycho!!
I just kinda randomly adopted a 2 month old kitten and I can't tell you how much your videos have helped me. I've learned a lot! Thank you for sharing
I just did today. I left the store and was aware I was near a kennel. I did a u-turn and now, here I am. I pick him up in 2 days.
@@jReze that's amazing! Good luck with your new baby🤎 mine was kind of a rescue: he was my landlord's cousin kitten, but he didn't care at all about him. Was living outside in the cold, dangerously close to a pit bull who managed to break free from his kennel🤧
I had to take him in.
Just too cute together.
i did just that! im loving my decision and theyre sleeping curled up with each other under my computer desk as i type this! they keep each other occupied and active which is great.
i promise, you will not regret it! my 2 boys kept me goin thru the pandumb-ic. 😻😻😻
we adopted a senior but, my BF and I agreed our next round will be a bonded pair.
I’m gonna try this with my Abyssinian !
I’m going to try this. Thanks
Hey, that’s a good idea. Thank you.
My kittens are at “0 days” and I have no idea about cats!!! She’s my fiancé’s cat but she’s out of town for another week and she wasn’t due until she came back! Had them last night, litter of 7 and now I’m trying to learn everything!! Thank you so much!!!
How are them?
We got our kitten in December, she is 5 months now. She was super small when we got her she was the runt and wasn’t feeding well, she is now very very big for her age, still has her baby teeth, and is the most loving happy cat Iv ever met. The owner of her mum didn’t think she was going to survive due to how small she was compared to her siblings. We love her so much and so glad we took her, the time hand feeding her in the beginning and hand giveing ger kitten milk and water she is now becoming very independent but still lives her hugs and kisses
I started with watching your videos for fun in quarantine. I have 12 cats now. Thanks dude.
I have a 14 yr old 3 males 4 and 6 yrs and 2 13 week olds. Hat off to you I'm at my limit now 😳😀

Hello Eliza how’s the weather over there
Bless you for taking on that sweet baby that needed help. I'm sure he/she is forever grateful. ❤
Currently nursing a 3 week old kitten who’s mom abandoned him at 1 day old 🥺 it’s so much work but has been so rewarding!
You already did a good job! From 1 day to 3 weeks, bravo❤️
@@sleepykiss1 such kind work you did
Bless you! How is kitty now?
@@terryexpose Heheh same here
@@terryexpose do you have a “kicker” toy? That helped a lot for us. Something she could really “kill”, not just chase. That and not playing with our hands or feet with her. Good luck !
Is it ok if a 14 weeks old kitten scratches me or something?
My 12 week old kitten hasn‘t even been here for 24 hours but she is super confident! Right now, she‘s next to me sleeping on her back
I have a 9 week old baby now.
Thank you so much for rescuing the older cats at the shelters!! They absolutely need love and deserve a loving home and family. ❤️❤️❤️
What a beautiful story!
Did they mate tho
I got a 5 week ish old boy kitten and I’m sure I’ve lost weight just from playing with them, he’s so energetic
Hello how’s the weather over there
On June 13th we adopted two siblings, and they have been our greatest joy! They play together, eat/drink together, sleep together, and even potty one after the other lol. It's been fun seeing who the leader is of the two and to also just watch their little personalities bloom! We love our Virgil and Dante!
Virgil and Dante?! That’s fantastic! I’m reading The Divine Comedy right now and loving it.
Such cute names!
Hello Carolyn how’s the weather over there
My cat hit 14 years old last month, she is still my kitten! Cats are like fine wine, they get better with age.
You teaching me the importance of interacting in the right way with a "teenager" kitten is what makes both me and our kitten stay sane😅
He just turned 6 month old this month and I've definitely noticed a big change in him and his needs, I didn't understand it because I've never had a cat or dog before but just as humans cats have this confusing, very testing teenager phase in life.
Omg i literally just dropped mine off to be fixed🥲
I feet you even with two brothers I was so worried . I called the vet to ask ahead of time will they be next to eachother, I requested hey be next to each other . spoke with vet office about my worry for them and called to check on them. Maybe call to check on them might help for you . if you are like me I worry about bothering people, but I pushed myself to do it anyways. Maybe a call will help and getting more info about what is going to happen will there be anyone with you furbaby etc etc. I really hope I could be helpful for you! I know what that feels like and I want to help you feel more at ease.
@@-_oOtianaOo_- thank you. I'll do it although I am like you that I also worry about bothering people. I appreciate your advice
@@pleasurepanda3285 your welcome. omg I feel that way all the time, but when I called they were so nice about it and of course I would say I am so sorry to bother you!! Just express how you feel and if they truly care about animals they will understand your love for your furbaby!!! 💜💙💜💙Also you will feel better too😊 if you want, i would love to hear how it went if you do!!
That's going to be me in about 3 months.
He's a happy loving cat otherwise, doubly so after I moved away from my stingy family this year.
that is so sweet
I'm glad he's with you now!
You are such a beautiful person, sorry about your family. I have a similar situation so can empathise xxxx
Found this as my kitten gallops around the house, and gallop is putting it lightly...
Yes I have 2 littermates and I can't believe how much noise they make on the floor boards.. I call it marauding 😁
@@janeread3735 marauding is the perfect description
i can hear mine when i'm in the basement! love it so much! the happy stampede!
I remember having to plan my entire day around when my kitten was sleeping so I could get anything done. But then it's over before you know it and you kind of miss it.
We always called it the elephant impression (or elephanting). Cats trying to convince the humans there are actually elephants in the house.
It’s honestly one of the best things to witness in person seeing kitties grow😍😍
This is super helpful. We rescued a 6 week old kitten from a pipe after 6 days and now she is 9 weeks old and absolutely insane!
I'm so thankful that our kitten was with a foster family with 9 kids during the critical development phase. He got used to being held by everyone and as a result, he's so tolerant. It also makes vet visits much easier.
My kitten will be 6 months old in 9 days. He really pushes the boundaries. I’m really loving him so much!
My 8 week old kitten is *very* gentle with my disabled sister. He’s even gradually warming up to my friendly doggos! ☺️💗💓
Thank you from one cat daddy to another
I adopted my kitten at six months from a shelter. She is now almost two and follows me around everywhere.
Thanks Cat Daddy 🥳
2 weeks ago I reduced a 5 month old orange male from the scary outside!!
From what I’ve gathered from this video … I’m in for one hell of a ride for the next several weeks 🎉
He’s only 5 months and already crazy as heck!!!
Thanks a lot for the videos and advice Jackson 🏆🥇
They’ve helped a lot already!!
This video came at the perfect time! Recently got ahold of 5 kittens without a mother, we think around 4-5 weeks old. Thank you !
Had our kitten three weeks now she’s just 11 weeks she’s still so small and fluffy, I love her so much
We just adopted three 8-week olds! They came to us very well socialized. Only one of them hissed and it was very short-lived. They are all so adorable! This video came at just the right time.
Hello Jay how’s the weather over there
I just want to thank you for this vid, its the 1st one I watched when searching for whats a normal kitten behavior like because honestly we just adopted a kitten and I was starting to doubt my decision, after watching your video I feel confident about it and we had already put a deposit on a 2nd kitten same age give or take a week or 2 max(different litter and rescue raised in a foster home) that I was seriously considering cancelling that.
Hello Gwen how’s the weather over there
This is not only adorable and fun to watch but so educational, and just what I needed right now! I'm working up a story, and needed to refamiliarize myself with kittens, since I've been rescuing senior cats for the last decade. Now I feel prepared to get this right!
I feel like my 3-month-old is already a teenager! So...I guess I have to embrace myself for the 6 months old....

You're one of them ;)
9:30 Toonses the driving cat... takes me way back!
I have 2 kittens now 5 week but have been with me from day 0. Mom was hit by a car and gave birth to these 2 and then died. So I rescued them. Thank you for this info. I have always loved your show's.
My two cats just turned 1 year old last month. I raised them since they were about a week old. Bottle fed them for weeks, wiped their butt and helped them pee and poo. Never thought I could develop such a close bond with cats. They're normally somewhat independent. Not mine. They're such needy jerks ️ They've got each other, but they smother me constantly. They're more co-dependant than my puppy.
Hello how’s the weather over there
How are they doing?
My new kittens were born at the end of March! Perfectly timed!
We've always rescued, adopted 2 together, either dogs or cats, and they have always turned out to be litter mates. I'm a firm believer in having 2. They keep each other company and always have each other. It's a beautiful thing ❤
YES! My kitten turned 6 months recently and she is getting more active. I'm getting her spayed soon so I hope she mellows out a bit sometime after.
Good luck with that! I had my 2 kittens spayed at 6 mos and I think they became crazier! Still they are so much fun and so lovable!
Did it help???
@@marianrinne6988 crazier in what sense?
Jackson’s video on declawing, would he be willing to watch that to fully know what it is first?
I have a kitten now! Very playful and full of energy. He is 10 weeks and get into EVERYTHING. I love him tho 🥲
Damn it. 🤦🏻♂️🤣💀
@Pinkman720 how did it go?
i’m in the same boat lol
You are a good human being ❤
I adopted my kitten when she was about 5 weeks old, now she's about 7 months old and seeing how much she's grown really melts my heart 😭💗
Hello Kate how’s the weather over there
"Perfect hunter"
My 1 year old kitty brings back feathers from the garden and is proud of himself. Although he is the most precious little thing I've ever met. He's super loving.
