You can't.You can think about them less and less as time goes by. Good communication comes into play here. It's your ex's responsibility as much as yours. this is why it takes two people to make or break a relationship. It can't work if one person is way too immature to even think that way.

This really depends. How long has it been since the breakup and have you cut off contact for 30 days yet? If you haven't cut off contact yet for at least 30 days, then you should prioritize that instead of texting her. @@BradBrowning breakup happened several years ago by her, several of month went by without contact so i dont think, no contact rule needed, she was the one chasing me and confessing that she still had feelings for me, so we hooked up and i spend in a short period time lots of time with her, i was hangin and hookin up with her 10 days in 2 week period, and then i felt she was pulling away, so i pulled away, no draama involved, i think attraction dropped, at the moment she is doing 100% of the chasing, but not still as sweet as she was when we hooked up and spend lots of time together.
All this sounds like we are not supposed to put the person we care about on a pedestal. If the love we have for them is genuine, we would not feel like acting cool. Playing mind games to make them miss us should not be a goal. Ultimately we care for them and we want them to be happy. It shouldn't matter where they get that happiness.
One thing you ought to realize is no amount of loving them can make them love you back, at least not right away... and showing your feelings will only push them further away because right now, they need space, okay? It's not really about mind games as much as it is about self respect and preservation as well because really, what it boils down to is how much you love the most important person in your life: yourself. Shit man, it's been 3 months & no contact. After 2 years she decided that she wasn't ready to commit & didn't think she ever would be. So I terminated the relationship. I'd still suggest to give the "no contact" rule a shot because that's still really your best bet, which will work in a sense where you BOTH will get to clear your mind to be in a better position to deal with each other when the time comes - instead of letting emotions overrule everything, risking things to get blown out of proportion even further. Makes sense? But will no contact ALONE work to get your ex back? He's just trying to be nice. By begging, it shows how you're not respecting your ex's need for space and time at the moment. Can't you see? In other words, you're making it hard for your ex to be attracted to you again. Your best bet is still to cut off contact completely for around a month or even more in order to clear your heads. As tough as it may be, it's always best to come to terms with the breakup and the fact that you're both single now. You doing the "no contact" rule neither prevents nor encourages your ex to go with someone new. In other words there's really nothing you can do to keep your ex from getting with someone new if they want to. So it boils down to two options, really. 1. Employ no contact and keep your dignity while respecting your ex's decision to breakup (why push yourself to someone who doesn't want you?) or Option 2: Do not do no contact and be pathetic. I always advise people to choose option 1 but really, which option you choose is ultimately up to you.

All this sounds like we are not supposed to put the person we care about on a pedestal. If the love we have for them is genuine, we would not feel like acting cool. Playing mind games to make them miss us should not be a goal. Ultimately we care for them and we want them to be happy. It shouldn't matter where they get that happiness.
One thing you ought to realize is no amount of loving them can make them love you back, at least not right away... and showing your feelings will only push them further away because right now, they need space, okay? It's not really about mind games as much as it is about self respect and preservation as well because really, what it boils down to is how much you love the most important person in your life: yourself. I'd still suggest to give the "no contact" rule a shot because that's still really your best bet, which will work in a sense where you BOTH will get to clear your mind to be in a better position to deal with each other when the time comes - instead of letting emotions overrule everything, risking things to get blown out of proportion even further. Makes sense? But will no contact ALONE work to get your ex back? It's been 6months, and my ex is with someone else. I don't think I have a chance anymore. We talked few times. He told me that he love me, but he keeps talking to his new lover. If your ex continues to reach out to you, however, then this really depends on the frequency and nature of the contact from your ex and whether or not you've reached the phase where you're supposed to be talking again. Is your ex trying to contact you about something really important, like an emergency, unpaid bills, or something equally urgent? As tough as it may be, it's always best to come to terms with the breakup and the fact that you're both single now. You doing the "no contact" rule neither prevents nor encourages your ex to go with someone new. In other words there's really nothing you can do to keep your ex from getting with someone new if they want to. So it boils down to two options, really. 1. Employ no contact and keep your dignity while respecting your ex's decision to breakup (why push yourself to someone who doesn't want you?) or Option 2: Do not do no contact and be pathetic. I always advise people to choose option 1 but really, which option you choose is ultimately up to you.

Well, keep in mind that the new girl isn’t you and if your relationship had been particularly good for the most part, then you can use that knowledge to your advantage (otherwise you really can't do anything about that now because you can't undo the past; best to take the experience as a lesson learned and try to show it to your ex and hope he is STILL open or receptive to it after giving space).
