    I don’t know if you see comments after posting this 2 years ago…but…this was excellent! I have tried to meditate somewhat successfully for a few years but the T would end up distracting me and I usually gave up after 10 minutes. I was able to concentrate on my breathing and although I heard my T, I was able to focus on your words, the music and loved the picture of the woods and stream. Thank you! Awesome. And yes! This will be part of my daily practice!

    Ten minutes in and I can't stop giggling. My escape, I guess. Reminds me of a serotonin rush.
    And the music behind really does dampen the noise in my ears. Nice track.
    I'll be coming back to this. Sorry to miss the rest of it, but I simply don't do Facebook.
    As a side note, I often focus on the sound in my head when I meditate. An acupuncturist recommended it years ago.
    Thanks.

    • @bacayne7039
      @bacayne7039 Рік тому +4

      @@bdf2660 I still have tinnitus, by the 2nd/3rd week i’ve become pretty much accustomed. Somedays i get spikes but when i get distracted or focused on anything it’s like it doesn’t exist, but it’s there. It helped to get medical checkups like MRI and ENT to discard anything serious. Found out i have a bad bite and misaligned jaw & bruxism, so i’m hoping that by solving that, things get better. Anyways, hope you all are getting better.
      Sounds hard to believe but you can really get habituated in a way that doesn’t really impact your day to day, i mean, it’s there, it’s bothersome but really it goes away when you keep yourself busy.
      I got to habituation rarely quick, hope it’s the case for you.

      @@mauzep4369 hey! I still experience it but now i don’t really notice it much when i’m entertained/busy/focused/distracted. It definitely feels like it’s much lower volume than the first days, although sometimes i have little spikes. I think i can say i’m habituated and living normally with it, i’ve become psychologically accustomed to it, but still hope it goes away.
      At the moment i don’t feel the need for sound therapy or any device to attenuate it. Looking to discard possible causes, i discovered that i have a sort of dislocated jaw and bruxism so i had a night mouthguard i hopes of improvement but i haven’t really noticed results.
      I’m thinking it might be something more emotional/psychological/nervous system rather than physical. Will keep you updated!
      I’m around 7 months in on this.

    Well, thank you. I found my mind wanting to focus on the ringing in mind during my mind wonder. It almost felt natural so I allowed my thoughts to jump onto it as if it were a current of water or in my case like an invisible electric current. I didn’t allow myself to stay because I’m trying to follow your directions but it just felt so natural that I wonder what will happen if instead of focusing on my rising of the intake of air in my belly I’ll try to focus of the ringing and post my feedback in the 2nd an subsequent lessons as I explore this journey.

      This is a common idea. And i like it. You can really focus on anything as an anchor for meditation, including the T sound itself. What can happen is you realise you literally can't focus on it without getting distracted which is a beautiful inversion of your usual fear that you'll never be able to stop noticing it.
      For me, i like to focus on the sound. And generally try to cultivate positivity towards it

    Hi doc.. From England.. What is your tinnitus caused from..

    • @trussray
      @trussray 2 роки тому

      I’m no Doctor but mine is from suffering a stroke but anytime I’d mention it to my general doctor she without any other questions would refer me to a hearing specialist. My guess is it’s likely a form of a hearing loss in most cases. Mine is annoyingly loud very distracting and my journey to work around it is difficult. I’ve decided to try and embrace mine as part of my meditation but only after I control my breathing and relaxing of the body. The first time listening to this practice my thoughts kept apparently being drawn to it so I tried focusing on it and wow it worked for me. This has been the best help I’ve experienced yet. I do agree that some kind of whit-noise helps get into it quicker. I’m so very grateful for this kind soul who took the time to help people like us because there apparently is very little help out there for us. I’m following his directions exactly as directed to then go back and try following my focus to the tinnitus like it were a flow of an electric current. Cheers and best of luck on your journey my friend.

    If we meditate without music or nature sounds can we train the brain to associate the tinnitus with calm?

      Anecdotally, people share they lean into their tinnitus during meditation. It is possible to create new connections.
