PLEASE please please keep Broken Sword 6 in 2D
Please Revolution, please make the next Broken Sword game in the older 2D style!
Most of the people who love the franchise have a nostalgic connection to the Broken Sword games back in the day and that's what we all want to revisit; the same 2D cartoon style, but with a brand new story. The 2D animations gave the game tons of charm and character.
I remember the same thing eventually happened to Monkey Island too. The Curse of Monkey Island was one of my favourite childhood games and once that franchise went 3D, it never felt the same.
Broken Sword is a classic and it doesn't need to be too modernised in its styling, it has it's own unique flavour that we all love and absolutely want to see again.
Oh man. I just wanted a 2D Beneath a Steel Sky 2. I really hope this turns out to be a good game. The original was absolutely brilliant.
I'd have preferred a 2D version as well - or a faux-3D version like what The Longest Journey did. My problem with these 3D adventure games, is that the controls are often annoying. Few 3D adventure ever did it right - the Tex Murphy series was one of the few ones that did.
@@redavatar I agree the controls can be annoying. Even with the monkey island remakes I kept switching back to the original versions.

I remember having fun with Beneath a Steel Sky the few times I got to play it. The story was gripping, which made quite an impact on me. I'm happy it's going to get a sequel, kudos to the devs, I'm really looking forward to it.

Seems like a strange choice to go 3D when backer support for BS5 just wanted a classic 2D back to basics adventure. This feels like its going down the BS sleeping dragon route Pressure from the publisher to modernize adventure games by bringing them into 3D scene which majority of adventure gamer's never even cared about.
ill still play it, love revolution software but im not digging it if im honest.

I was a bit concerned when I saw that a sequel was being made of one of my all time favorite classic Point And Click Adventure Games. That the developers of Broken Sword are working on it makes me much happier. Here's hoping it lives up to my expectations as both a classic Adventure game fan, but also as a Broken Sword and Deponia* Fan.
*The BEST modern adventure game series bar none.

Since many are commenting about something other than this game... would you please consider making a Fun Flight Sim with Exotic Locations to fly passengers/cargo in and out of with crazy weather? That would be cool to me! Oh and let it have an after flight replay option with multiple camera angles to make cool videos of! Thanks!
Looks good, but the font size in the subtitles and the puzzle-thing needs to be a lot bigger. At least have big fonts as an option for people with bad eyesight.
I will def buy this to support Broken Sword
Don't go the way of the longest journey and sacrifice story/gameplay for 3D.
Looking good so far, though I'm still concerned and not yet sold on the switch from 2[.5ish]D point & click to a fully 3D game.
Definitely need to see far more of the gameplay first before making up my mind even a little.
Excited. The art direction seems to not fully capture the style and essence of the original though. Maybe it is because it is 3D?
been playing point n click all my life, now i have the oculus vr ~ huge potential, through handson interactions, conversation n adventure ~ cant wait for this beneath the steel sky since played with my childmemory

I'm not convinced by the looks of it (here's hoping your budget will allow for further refinement of the look in general, and the animation in particular), but if you can live up to the original game, I'll be very interested.
And the music is just a placeholder, right? If you're going for orchestral, live instruments would make a huge difference.
That looks solid for a Apple Arcade Title. Feels a little void of anything more than a world to walk in trailer wise. :D

3D? I might pass this one. And I am a 3D artist lol. When is the new 2D Broken Sword coming up? I still love 1&2. 5 was nice too.

Movements need to be a little less dramatic. People don’t shrug and talk that way. It doesn’t have to be mocap accurate, but it currently looks goofy.

I miss the dystopic, muddy and dirty atmosphere of the original game. I don't really understand why the developers gone for a vibrant, clean and cartoony style in this sequel...
Why is there no Russian language? at least subtitles
