Will the DJI Osmo Action work with FeiyuTech G6? or for that matter does it work with the G5 and WG2. The answer is...Yes! Due to its similar size, shape, and weight to the Hero 5/6/7 Black the Osmo Action will work with the FeiyuTech Action Camera gimbals, it is fully compatible. The Osmo Action has built-in EIS that DJI is calling Rock Steady and for the most part for everyday situations that is all you need as it works very well. If you need to film in low light situations or want some extra stabilization polish then you may want to consider the FeiyuTech G6.

Does the placement or mounting of the G6 impact the positioning of the Osmo Action microphones (and therefore audio quality) ?
It should work very well when using HDR since image stabilization is disabled in that mode.

Besides the stabilisation not being available in some shooting modes, EIS starts to struggle in low light. EIS is a welcome supplement to using a gimbal, but it does not remove the need for a gimbal.
Only reason to use external gimble is HDR mode. Because when you enable HDR mode you cant use rocksteady
so you have to use gimble or do static shots...
Can you make a night test with HDR + gimble ?
AtariKafa It is a lot more than just HDR mode. Once the sun dips low in the sky EIS starts to get sketchy while gimbals have no performance hit in lower light. I also prefer to use a gimbal because of control over panning and the handle gives more reach, and with tripod feet attached there is more reach and quick placement for walking away from the camera.
Can any of these gimbals control the function modes of the Osmo Action Camera?
Is it possible to attach Osmo Action in the cage, e.g., Smallrig or Forevercam with 52mm lens adapter to the FeiyuTech WG2X? Would it balance properly? My point if I can use camera with 52mm ND filters on the FeiyuTech gimbal. Thanks!

You need it if you use a ND 4, 8,16,32 and/or 64 filter because Rock Steady uses shutterspeed, and with those filters on RS is not that RS anymore!

Can the G4 charge the OSMO Action Camera??? Do you need a special adapter for USB-C Charge? I asked FeiyuTech and they have no idea.
The issues I hv using Gopro Hero 6 with Gimbal G6. The motors of the gimbal are so loud, the audio recorded so terrible, to overcome this, we use adapter mic Gopro, another problem occurs, the wifi signal of Gopro has issue with adapter mic Gopro, audio with static background will be recorded. To get a good audio with mic adapter Gopro, we hv to turn off the wifi of Gopro, but we can't use function of gimbal now. Dilemma. How about Dji Osmo Action?
So what would be the purpose of buying the osmo action with a gimbal as opposed to buying the osmo pocket for much less?

Careful when Installing the camera the Yi technology screens broke due to pressure of the thumb bolts a and framing of a Gibal. since hte camera got a front screen I double that carefulness.

I just subscribed your channel because I like the way you review products, such as honest review, product compatibility, etc.
I’ve watched your review about iSteady Pro 2 and I’m interested to buy it. But in that review you mentioned Feiyu Tech G6 is better than iSteady Pro 2. From both reviews I found out and prefer to buy Feiyu Tech G6 because It can link to action camera via WiFi and control the camera’s shooting modes from the gimbal buttons. At the mean time I still love Inception Mode on iSteady Pro 2. Then I’m a bit confused which one to buy. I intend to use with Dji Osmo Action. In order to use with Osmo Action,
? Can G6 connect to Osmo Action via WiFi?
? Does G6 buttons compatible with Osmo Action’s shooting modes?
? Does G6 trigger work as Sport Mode and Recenter camera like iSteady Pro 2 ?
? And of course, another important question is, can G6 shoot Inception Mode because I love that mode?
Depends on compatibility and modes I intend to use, could you please suggest me which one is better to buy for my purpose?

I have to say DJI have came out with a damn good product for their first try at an action camera I know their drones are king of the sky looks like they're going to be king of the action cam Market also we'll have to see what GoPro come up with for their hero 8 Edition. I have another question for you was this product given to you or did you purchase with your own money just a question I know a lot of UA-cam channels get stuff gifted to them that you would have to return at a later time or end up purchasing
I was Lent a review unit so I could have an early look at it. It was just a loner and has to be returned. I ordered one On launch day in fact it just got delivered today. So yes I am the consumers well. I have been offered many Review products over the years I only except them as long as I have a full freedom to say what I wish. If company wants to preview my videos first it’s a no go

The noise of engines in G6 ??? How does it look at OSMO Action? In GoPro Hero 6 Black sound was dominated by noise from G6 !!!
when you are walking, if you put the gimble at a 45 degree angle, you wont get that up and down stepping motion because the gimble then can move up and down. but it an upright stance the camera and gimble cannot go straight up or down. also worked well on my osmo phone gimble although all videos were complaiing about that up and down ... but in stopped when using an angle when walking.

How come you did not mention if we can power/control the Osmos with the gimbal? Kinda of an important thing. Lots of people leaving similar comments too...
So would a combination of a gimbal and the built in stabilisation working together, is it ‘ultra’ stable?
Yes a gimbal does add an extra layer of polish But in some situations not necessary. It does really cut back side to side movements

Is the bluetooth communication compatible too? means the buttons on the G6 Gimbal works with the DJI
At some point it should be I haven’t checked the firmware updates recently. But there is no reason why I feiyutech Could not make it compatible if it hasn’t done so already

Not at this point, but figured tech may release a firmware update. I will keep an eye on it
@@AirPhotography hi there. first of all, thank you Air Photography for these really high quality guides to everything you already did. have you already experienced any updates on the firmware of the G6 regarding that connection process to the osmo action? what i hate is that every chinese gimbal producer says that osmo action is compatible. it is not. why are gimbals made only for the gopro that has hypersmooth and doesnt need stabilization with a gimbal? dji answered me that way, that they said, with rocksteady on you dont need a gimbal... so why do you need it with a gopro then...

ericcif68 does it give you the Osmo as a camera option other than GoPro or Sony from within the app ? (iOS)

i am still waiting for answers about that myself. noone can answer it, so the 100% compatibility is nonesense to me.. it is not compatible...

This is the biggest reason to choose the Osmo Action over the GoPro Hero 8 people keep saying that modern EIS in the Action and Hero 7 and 8 eliminate the need for a gimbal. That is BS. The inbuilt stabilisation reduces the need for the gimbal, but there are two reasons a gimbal is still required. Firstly in low light EIS becomes sketchy, and the next reason is even more important - EIS crops in on the image (it is how it is able to achieve such good stabilisation.) The cropping can be from 10 to 20%, which is a lot. A gimbal means being able to turn off EIS and get a much wider view. At this time none of the smaller gimbals like the G6 will accept the GoPro Hero 8. We need Feiyu Tech to make an adapter for the G6, or a G7 which will take the Hero 8.
But you cannot Control the Osmo Action cameras functions from the gimbal

You really a very professional gimbal and camera player. But for G6 test, you only check the wardware Compatibility with camera, this is WIFI connection you did not check. But I think this is a really products review already.
Yes I have reviewed this gimbal in the past and went over all of the Wi-Fi settings. As for connecting via Wi-Fi to the Osmo action it’s not compatible yet that may change with a firmware update or perhaps they will launch a brand new gimbal in 2019

Bullshit. I bought wg2x for osmo and it doesnt fit holding frame....... it made for go pro which is more wide. Now i'll have to make some spacing plate to fix camera normally to gimbal.

For some reason it was removed before launch. DJI must want to polish it a bit before they re add it via firmware update. But yes gh7b timeworn is amazing. DJI has there work cut out for them if they are going to compete with it.
I don´t know why I need a gimbal for an Action cam? If I want to film a Gimbal stabilized scene, then I use my DJI OSMO or OSMO POCKET. Your Gimbal use is nice to know, but not necessary.
Did you even watch the video? Even with rocksteady on, the gimbal footage is much smoother... That's why it's needed!
Not good quality gimbal, it get damage very soon.
Stuff like this makes me mad. Company spends billions on creating "smooth" compact technology just so the average Joe can rig it out and and make it bulkier......
I believe in DJI Rocksteady, not Feiyu rubbish gimbal.
Rocksteady is good But it doesn’t work in low light conditions, for people who need to film indoors or in HDR mode. That’s when somebody needs a gimbal.
