@@novaasher1185 Only seen them live once back in 2016 at a small-scale venue. It was amazing nonetheless. I think their biggest event this year will be Storm the Arena in December.
I'm so glad you chose to spotlight Lacuna Coil. Cristina Scabbia possesses one of the best voices in metal, in my opinion. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live many times and her vocals have always been incredible. She and the band put all of their hearts into every performance, and hold nothing back.

PLEASE react to Blind Melon. There is a new doc coming out about the lead singer/band. (Another grunge era loss) One of the most unique voices you'll ever here. Capital Records signed them and they had only met weeks before, hadnt even formed "the band" yet. They had only five songs, but were signed by Capital. Pretty impressive. Their hit song was No Rain, but they are so much more than that. Suggestions:

Shannon Hoon was really unique. I have always been kinda bummed that "No Rain" is the only song that anyone knows from them. They were so much more than that song. Arguably No Rain is incredible different from the rest of their music. Anyways... yeah, I was really into Blind Melon in the '90s :) Great band!!

Weirdly this is one of their worst performances. Not that it isn't good. Have seen Lacuna Coil several times, the 119 show left me strangely disappointed. Have seen them again since with Eluveite and they were awesome.
Interesting fact about Christina Scabbia, she has never taken a voice lesson before Lacuna Coil.

Remember two bands so different ways of singing like Nightwish and Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy. Uuuuummmm I have really really enjoy this video!! i came to watch a gothic metal band, but it seems djent is everywhere now!!!
Check out Lacuna Coil's earlier albums - Reverie, Unleashed Memories and their best album, Comalies. The gothic style is far more noticeable (Tiamat influence is strong) and there's zero djent riffs to be found because djent wasn't a thing back then.
If you like the mix between distortion and clean feminine vocals you should watch Tristania. Songs from the first two albuns with Morten Veland.

You’re so right Beth, Cristina (No damn H) Scabbia is always on cue with her vocals. I’ve never seen her screw up. She’s a pro, and she hasn’t lost anything at 47. Lacuna Coil is also getting more theatrical with their shows. I saw them in a small venue in West Hollywood, but I wish I saw them like this video. This is epic!

I recommend you to watch AWAKING THE CENTURIES from a German symphonic metal band called HAGGARD. That guy is kinda screaming the hole song. You really should check his technic. By the way greetings from Mexico
Yeah it's a cool song but don't sleep on Comalies, Unspoken, Entwined, Purify, Cold Heritage, My Wings, Circle. Cristina's vocals on Comalies are still the peak of Lacuna Coil.

If you like this type of "beauty and the best" metal, I would suggest the songs Venus, Poppaea, or Masquerade and the Phoenix by the band Theatre of Tragedy. They're very soothing groovy and dark songs with a beauty all of there own. Don't really think good live videos exist of these songs.
The female lead of this band, Liv Kristine, also featured in a very popular song by a band called Cradle of Filth called Nymphetamine. Really haunting but full of beauty.
Christina Scabbia was (up to 2017) the wife of Jim Root, one of the guitarists in SliPKnoT (#4, the jester mask). Irrelevant, I know, but a nice piece of trivia!

She's even more amazing because most of her techniques are self taught through figuring out what works and what doesn't. She didn't have any formal vocal training way into her career and maybe some coaching along the way. At least that's what she said a few years ago in an interview

I liked this video, as do I love your channel and lacuna coil both, but it seems that this vid of yours was recorded a bit low on the volume (at least for a phone's playback is concerned). Max volume on the phone and the youtube app leaves me straining to hear both the app and you. Not to complain but I figured you'd welcome the feedback
hi#beth i'm follow this channel for the stuff you have choised and for the argumentation of the syles and some interessant comment yo have got , I appreciate this song and lacuna coil are mostly a good italian band in the past I have listened a lot of gothic/metal band , with a peculiarity , the voice and the inspiration they take from the past to the modern music a romantic point of view of the decadent life .......i think cristina is a good singer in italy are appreciated , but only beacuse in other country they had in the evanescence period a good version of '' enjoy the silence '' is the song when they become famous , I think of their music a good version of the nightwish and gathering band ......if they evolve in something more particular i could appreciate more than the limitated metal influence ( this is a typical limit of the metal band , but is true ) , cristina is a queen , if she conserve his voice at the top .......Iwish that hopefull, bye from tuscany , italia. ciao
Please react to something by Sahaj Ticotin. The man has one of the greatest voices in rock but no reaction channel has touched him yet. Try the song "Taken" or "Sky" by his band Ra to hear one of the purest voices you'll ever listen to.
I listen to both Lacuna Coil and gothic metal, but i just gotta add that this isnt gothic metal, nor does it have any influence from it anymore.
Their earlier stuff like Comalies had influence from gothic rock instead, but now its some from industrial metal

This song “the Other half of me ” is from a live concert with Metropole orchestra (plus choir). Within Temptation are a master of beauty and the beast vocals.
The band was created around the same type as Nightwish and both bands are the biggest symphonic metal bands (epica came later). Although, more gentle than Nightwish and they’ve changed their style now, they’re an amazing band with a lot of amazing song in symphonic metal genre as well as folk and doom inspired (first two albums).
Keep in mind that the vocalist (Sharon den Adel) is self taught and was sick (lost her voice) right before the concert and was still amazing. They’ve done a duet with Tarja from Nightwish and Sharon did a duet with Floor (pre Nightwish.)
While not as technical as Floor, Sharon has absolutely amazing voice, timbre and all and pours a lot of emotions into singing. She also has amazing stage presence and does “Sharon dance” with her hands that is unique to her.
I think that you’ll really enjoy this song.

Cristina Scabbia was also a judge on The Voice. The tour you were referring to included as far as I know Eluveitie, Lacuna Coil AND Infected Rain, the latter may also be worth a look.
Hi Beth, and thanks a lot for this video, I'm a huge fan of them, so, both of you, that's perfect ^^ And during the last tour, there was Infected Rain as support, and Eluveithie and Infected Rain qere supposed to tour together in USA before the covid make them cancelled the tour, so, if you could react to them too, that would be perfect!!
