Absolute opinion with no insight: The Ten Hag/Sancho beef does have to do with Antony, but it was reflexive and exponential. Sancho probably doesn't work hard in training and doesn't follow direction well and wakes up late all the time and is kind of a douche; Ten Hag knew that, and bought Antony, who, while he isn't talented like Sancho, does work hard, does wake up, does practice hard, and does follow direction. Ten Hag was hoping Sancho would see talent isn't everything, up his responsibility, and get to it. I thought it was known that our PSR and FFP are not only not limited, but MUCH BETTER this summer compared to any of the last three seasons because of extreme wages being moved on (varane, martial, etc), champions league last season, and most importantly, the 21/22 season is no longer taken into account (our worst financial loss probably ever) Reasoning for selling this summer is for the cash fiscally in hand, which is a problem, not PSR.

Before sanchos loan back to dotmund, I never would’ve thought we could get €50m especially with his wages. I think the best move for Antony is send him out on loan and hope he can show something in another league. He’s also got off field issues that would make some clubs look elsewhere and he doesn’t have anywhere near the ability to make clubs look past those issues.

Howson is always amazingly optimistic about what fees can be raised for players United does not want. There is no chance, zero chance, any club takes Antony for 40 million plus his 200K wages. Antony was valued at 25m and that's roughly where he is. He is owed 30m by United for the next 3 years of his wages. United will have to pay up the majority of those wages to get him to go. The club will be lucky to make a positive cash flow on the transaction, while a loss is just baked in. Antony is an extremely hard working player, does a lot of the basics right, but he and the club are cursed by that 80m fee for a player who just isnt at the required level. It's one of the worst bits of transfer business the club has done in the last decade, which is remarkable for a club that is renowned for awful transfer business.
Sancho will not be sold, nobody will pay his wages and he's already shown he's quite happy to sit and home and collect a cheque while doing nothing. He will be loaned back to Dortmund for next season, 50/50 wages.

I agree with, Sancho. I could tolerate moving on Casemiro, if a decent opportunity presents itself. Antony, no, we wouldn't get a fair deal for him atm and I still think there's player in there. Maguire, must go imo and he's on a hefty contract, with a history far worse and longer than Antony.
He's technically better than most with a good turn of pace, works hard and I don't expect anybody to do well on their first season and he joined a team that isn't functioning as a unit. He also knows Hag's system, I prefer two footed players but, some of best ever are mono-foots and to use that against him is pointless. He's also had some personal issues and given what recently happened with another of our players, that would mess with anyone's head. I see him in a similar light to Sancho, maybe slightly less talented, difference is, he's not insulted the manager, yet.

If we can get £20M for Casemiro, £40M for Sancho and £40M for Greenwood, that’s your £100M. I’d be surprised if we can sell Antony for anything over £30M. There are a host of others who need to leave, some for potentially little more than scratch change: Lindelöf - £20M Williams - £5M Wan Bissaka - £30M Eriksen - £1M Pellistri - £10M Van de Beek - £10M Hannibal - £5M If we could somehow get them all out the club, that’s about an additional £80M, plus an additional £500K - £600K per week removed from the wages. So, if the club were able to go full Football Manager on us with sales, we could potentially raise a bit over £200M and cut around £1.4M from the weekly wages.
A lot depends on a. Who the manager is, b. Who they want to keep or c. Who the current / a new manager thinks are coachable and can play the system they want to play. But its a long list. Cas, Donny, Greenwood, Sancho, Lindelof, Maguire, McTominay, Anthony, Williams, Eriksen, Hannibal, Pellistri, Evans, Shaw and Rashford, a lot of whom were on loan but still part of the first team squad. Various reasons whether it is injuries, performance levels or attitude but cases could be made for nearly all to leave. Jury also out on Mount, Forson and Malacia, accepting injuries have been an issue. Varane and Martial have left which leaves a decision on Amrabat but assume his loan ends and back he goes. Clearly not going to happen in one transfer window though. Ralf was right. Open-heart surgery.

Honestly if PSG still want Rashford I would sell and make that a priority. We need to fix our wage structure. Rashford playing poorly and being the best payed player in the club is bound to give problems. When players who actually perform want new contract, they will point at Rashford and say i play more than Rashford, i'm better than Rashford, i should get payed like Rashford, or even more. New players coming to the club will also look at what the best payed player in the club gets and use that as a benchmark for what they should get.
McTominay - no, not yet. For Utd to sign another player for his transfer/wages (minus Utd tax) and get a player who is more likely than not to make a significant contribution to the first team is a low probability gamble. Besides, Utd have so, so many players that they need to offload for wages/attitude/age that having a few no-nonsense attitudes like McTominay and Lindelof will probably be worth keeping for a year or two more even if they don't start that much.

On Stretford Paddock few months ago when Sir jim was finalising the 150 mil injection of cash the Guess (finance expert) on the show said as Sir Jim has put 150 mil into United we get access to an extra 80mil allowance on Transfers .. so if we have 35M Plus Sir Jims 80M that 115m before we sold a player .. Maguire, Antony, Malacia. Those are realistic exits that raises funds and doesn’t impede too heavily on the team. Most people mentioning names are doing it from an emotional standpoint not a club first one.

The Club needs to sort out the debt then eventually we could buy decent players. The Glazers need gone, or at the very least the dividends capping so that they can't put the club in debt again. First thing is to renegotiate the debt to be paying a lower interest rate

First player to be sold needs to be Rashford. Playing him is almost identical to playing with 10 men, and with his attitude factored in along with his massive decline and huge wages, it's essential to get him out.
If you think the first player to be sold should be Rashford you're just hating for the sake of it. Defence and midfield need fixed, by selling and buying in those areas. Rashford has had 4 great season out of 6, so on balance he's an elite player with the ability to perform next season. Garnacho and Rashford on the left, with Olise and Amad on the right, and Hojlund up front makes next season's frontline look pretty sweet to me. Before sanchos loan back to dotmund, I never would’ve thought we could get €50m especially with his wages. I think the best move for Antony is send him out on loan and hope he can show something in another league. He’s also got off field issues that would make some clubs look elsewhere and he doesn’t have anywhere near the ability to make clubs look past those issues.

I think we're in the usual situation of not being able to sell 99% of our players because of the cycle of paying them double what they're worth to come to the club and then them refusing to take a pay cut to go elsewhere. Speaks volumes about one of the core problems at the club

Howson is always amazingly optimistic about what fees can be raised for players United does not want. There is no chance, zero chance, any club takes Antony for 40 million plus his 200K wages. Antony was valued at 25m and that's roughly where he is. He is owed 30m by United for the next 3 years of his wages. United will have to pay up the majority of those wages to get him to go. The club will be lucky to make a positive cash flow on the transaction, while a loss is just baked in.
Antony is an extremely hard working player, does a lot of the basics right, but he and the club are cursed by that 80m fee for a player who just isnt at the required level. It's one of the worst bits of transfer business the club has done in the last decade, which is remarkable for a club that is renowned for awful transfer business.
Sancho will not be sold, nobody will pay his wages and he's already shown he's quite happy to sit and home and collect a cheque while doing nothing. He will be loaned back to Dortmund for next season, 50/50 wages.
Pretty sure Sancho knows he'll need to lower his wages in order to move. So it's a tired narrative to keep bringing up wages as if it's a major stumbling block

Antony is so one footed that he should be registered disabled. Good work a rate, but just a terrible player.
He's technically better than most with a good turn of pace, works hard and I don't expect anybody to do well on their first season and he joined a team that isn't functioning as a unit. He also knows Hag's system, I prefer two footed players but, some of best ever are mono-foots and to use that against him is pointless.
He's also had some personal issues and given what recently happened with another of our players, that would mess with anyone's head.
I see him in a similar light to Sancho, maybe slightly less talented, difference is, he's not insulted the manager, yet.

Honestly if PSG still want Rashford I would sell and make that a priority. We need to fix our wage structure. Rashford playing poorly and being the best payed player in the club is bound to give problems. When players who actually perform want new contract, they will point at Rashford and say i play more than Rashford, i'm better than Rashford, i should get payed like Rashford, or even more. New players coming to the club will also look at what the best payed player in the club gets and use that as a benchmark for what they should get.

McTominay - no, not yet. For Utd to sign another player for his transfer/wages (minus Utd tax) and get a player who is more likely than not to make a significant contribution to the first team is a low probability gamble.
Besides, Utd have so, so many players that they need to offload for wages/attitude/age that having a few no-nonsense attitudes like McTominay and Lindelof will probably be worth keeping for a year or two more even if they don't start that much.

Maguire, Antony, Malacia. Those are realistic exits that raises funds and doesn’t impede too heavily on the team. Most people mentioning names are doing it from an emotional standpoint not a club first one.

The Club needs to sort out the debt then eventually we could buy decent players. The Glazers need gone, or at the very least the dividends capping so that they can't put the club in debt again. First thing is to renegotiate the debt to be paying a lower interest rate

Rashford has had 4 great season out of 6, so on balance he's an elite player with the ability to perform next season.
