How to fix door cracks clicking sounds in 4 steps [with electrical tape, DIY] Alfa Romeo

- How to resolve and fix the problem of terrible clicking noisy sounds of the door check straps (when door cracks while opening 00:06) with electric tape for only 1 euro!
I took my Alfa Romeo 159 as example, however, it is suitable for other brands and models with a similar door check strap construction.
Descriptions and time-codes:
Step 1: 00:16
Remove the door check strap.
Unscrew 2 sheathing nuts with 17mm wrench, remove lower trim, unscrew 2 nuts with 10mm wrench, 2 torx bolts 6mm, get the door check strap through the opening.
Step 2: 00:57
Disassemble the door check strap.
Remove the clips, take out the springs, take out the plastic bosses. Due to the fact that they grind around the radius, they make these terrible clicking sounds.
Step 3: 01:18
Wrap the boss with electrical tape.
Clean, degrease and wrap in one layer with electrical tape.
Do the same on the second opposite side. Add lubricant to the lock and hinge.
Step 4: 02:05
Install back the door check strap.
Put everything in place, tighten all bolts and nuts, additionally spray with silicone grease.
Done!

awesome video! helpful and edited well! Im complete noob when it comes to fixing stuff, i had to borrow the tools from my friend to do this but i wanted to do it by myself. Took me 1,5-2h but my alfa 159 door is so silent now i can creep in and out without the whole neighbourhood noticing me :D Hvala buraz

Edit: I did exactly the same thing as in video.
Just after few days, the clicking sound got back!!!

Naturally it appeared again.. that tape broke
@@lucianmlg Instead of tape, cut up a energy drink can, make sure its the smooth part of it and it should not overlap. I've had that on for atleast 150-200 door opens and still works perfectly smooth and quiet like brand new

Thnx Nice video. Im not sure about the 159 but brera and spider 939 have a bad sound when shutting the door. Window or other parts sound loose. A video about that would also be great.

Svaka cast legendo, ovo su korisne stvari! Inace Alfa ti je brutalna, ljepota! Pitanje samo za torx koji si koristio, pise 6mm a je li oznaka kljuca mozda t30 ili nesto drugo?
cao! kod mene pise 6mm na njemu, ali predpostavljam da ima i neke druge oznake. uzmi set od njih pa probaj koji tacno ce odgvaratui neces da promasis :D

automatic menjac mislim da je idealan za 159ku, smena ulja na svakih 60000 km i nema problema nikad

thx! unfortunately at 147/156/GT its not possible to fix like that, you need a new one or DIY to disassemble the part that fits on the A rod, and try to assemble it with a pin or screw, because there is a problem with the clicking sounds

Tip for those with facelift 159...the rear ones are different..just removed mine and there is no way to take it apart..just replace them with non facelift ones

How do you remove the passenger side? It has come type of insulation and I cant wrap my head around it :(. And insted of electrical tape i used energy drink can!

@@NikolasKolis but there Is no hole for that "door thing" to come out. There Is some kind of insulation in front of the hole. And i dont mean that carpet thing that covers ventilation harness

Na isti nacin jedino moguca razlika u otvaranju i vadjenju ovih malih plastika. Jer postoji 2 varijante - do 2008 god mogu se otvorit na sraf, posle 2008 moraju da se rezu pa posle se sklapaju
@@NikolasKolis ja sam baš probao ali kod mene je baš ta druga varijanta što si naveo jer je model iz 2008. Pokušao sam raznoraznim sredstvima da podmazem ali nije uspelo.

мойта е 2.4 автоматик 2008 210 коня, карам я вече 4та година и всичко е на ред, с главата и друго. има чип и доста други подобрения.
съветът ми е да намериш Алфата в добро състояние и права километража и всичко ще е ок !

да уже почти полгода вот так, и все кул ) новый ограничитель конечно лучшее решение, но почему бы не попробовать и такой вариант ))

This solution will not last long because the tape will wear out quickly. take the heat shrink tubing, grease it and press it in, I did it this way and it has been working for 2 years and the tape doesn't work, it's a pity for your work, best regards
