    You are definitely the most awesome alfa romeo reviewer with the decent quality video!! (Also the crazy sense of humour too 🤣🤣🤣)

    Hack #5 is useful when it's at the dealership and we can't start the engine but need the steering unlocked to push it into the shop. Most cars have a safety release hidden underneath the centre console, or behind the column trim, so it's kinda useful to have one that's easier to get to for when your Alfa breaks down

    • @TheAlfaNut
      @TheAlfaNut  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Fish, thanks for watching! I guess that all of these little quirks have a use, it’s just that some are more obvious than others! 😉

    • @tvaatakt1
      @tvaatakt1 Рік тому +2

      Alfas does not break down. They just get iffy if not treated like a princess, specially when tasked with humdrum stuff like going to the supermarket. It's their Italian temper paired with a bit of narcissism and what have you. Oh, dida I mentioned that I drive a Volvo and my wife a 159? That randomly decides that it does not start and then you just disconnect the battery for 2 minutes to show the creature who is actually in charge. And off we go.

    My 159 has the window up on remote key. Very practical. Great car by the way-simply underrated!
    It also doesnt beep when opening or closing and is incredibly reliable . Much more economic to operate and maintain then the bmw, audi ,merc gang...Alfa made the perfect choice to change the suppliers policy to deliver proper products. Now its only Bosch that needs to get up to standard . The new gen Giulia, Tonale and Stelvio are technically top notch...difficult to find better.... and the Tonale has a great design and styling!

    First of all thank you for your videos - You have won me over to a point where I seem to have fallen in love with the Alfa's :D I know it's not the purpose of this video (!question time!) but I'm now looking at (maybe) buying one for the purpose of daily usage, a bit of (spirited) sunday driving and occasionally hauling a very leightweight racecar around on a trailer.
    So since the 156 and 159 more or less crosses price points where I live, I'm wondering which to buy between the 156 2.0 JTS or the 159 2.2 JTS? The 159 has more power and build more modern but also heavier.. What would you (Alfa Nut and everyone else) choose? Reliability weighs in my decision as well as sportyness - Since most trips are rather short fuel economy is mostly what it is (ofc, better is better.. But yeah) :)

    • @TheAlfaNut
      @TheAlfaNut  4 роки тому +1

      Hi mate, thanks for watching and for the kind comments - glad to have helped you to fall in love with Alfas! If I was buying a car for towing, I would always buy a diesel as they have more torque. If I was buying a car for spirited driving and weekend fun, probably a 156 as they are light and fun to drive. If I needed an all-rounder that was reliable and comfortable but also quick, then I'd go for a 159 2.4 jtdm. 210 bhp, 50 mpg, great for towing and the exhaust note is good as it's 5 cylinders. I don't like the 2.2 jts engine much - it has some quirky issues with the power delivery and bogs down from a standstill. Just my thoughts - happy shopping!

    • @KF2NationalKartcrg
      @KF2NationalKartcrg 4 роки тому

      @@TheAlfaNut Thank you very much for the reply, it certainly helped clear up my mind. I'm still looking as I have not found the one yet. I'm defitnitly into the 159 2.4 JTDM, but it seems like the market has a eye for those as well since they tend to go for a bit of a premium of which I can't strech my wallet to (yet). So in short, my mind has landed on the diesel side of things, and if I can manage, I'll go the 159 2.4 way. But yet again, thank you soo much. And thank you for some great content :D

      Hi Sammy, I own a 1998 156 V6 and it costs around £500 to change the cam belt. The 156 has more room in the engine bay to work than in the GTV but maintenance is still a challenge, as the engine was designed to be fitted North - South, not East - West! 😄

The engine is not like a Busso v6 however and does not have much character. Poor fuel consumption compared to a diesel too. The 3.2. is comfortable and great for motorway trips but I would probably buy the 2.4 diesel instead, as it has almost the same power, a good exhaust sound (5 cylinders) and is lighter and cheaper to run. :0)

      Yes - I take a 1750 tbi engine out of a 159, tune it to 240 bhp and use that!

    Love this channel and each new issue...
    I rock a Stelvio TI Sport in the Midwestern US (aka the ‘flyover states’) and it gets pretty lonely for Alfisti...but we still know how to find each other and party: Alfa Romeo Owners Club (AROC for short!)
    Then again, that’s EXACTLY why I bought her...and she has proven absolutely brilliant in any weather!
    (Damn shame for all the sheep that buy German SUV’s or American Bro-Dozers...they’re missing out!)
    More for me..haha! Love my Stelvio to bits!!
    PS: I also own a 1976 Series 2 Spider Veloce in my perfect spec; working on my dream Alfa Garage!
    Plus...spending 12 days in May 2020 in Italy with AROC doing 5-Star car-related things like true hedonists!!

      Hi Grant, thanks for watching and for the kind comments - I’m happy that you enjoy watching a middle aged man doing dumb stuff in public! 😆. Nice choice of Alfa there - I’m hoping to drive a Stelvio soon for a video too - they look great. To be honest seeing other Alfas on the road in the UK is pretty rare too but we know something that other people don’t! 😉 Cheers 👍🏻

      The Alfa Nut no worries...I’m a middle-aged man doing dumb stuff in public EVERY DAY!
      The Stelvio has made this (introvert) into an EXTROVERT and I think it’s healthy for body and mind alike!
      THANK YOU ALFA ROMEO...where have you been all my life?!?

      I’m visiting the Alfa museum in Milan in June, hoping to see some rare stuff backstage where the non exhibits are stored. Watch out for THAT video! Have fun mate 👍🏻

      The Alfa Nut the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo is a wonderful visit for any Alfa Nut...I’ll be visiting for my second time in May!
      Be sure to poke around out back, too...Italy’s largest shopping mall IL CENTRO is built on the partially-demolished hallowed ground of Alfa’s huge Arese factory!
