This was my favorite part of the Darly Boxman show. It may have been controversial at the time, but episodes like this really teach kids higher concepts at that you simply don’t see in other children’s programming. Look at how Darly is positioned in the center of the screen, his stature is confident yet relaxed, tackling the concept of civil disobedience in a way his younger audience can more effectively understand. Every time Darly blinks, his eyes shift position, giving Darly a new perspective between every glimpse of the world around him, guiding his impressionable audience toward a mindset where they too can view problems from multiple angles and viewpoints. And finally, we have the music. As Darly stands, his signature, award winning, soundtrack fades into the background, challenging the viewer to become introspective, looking within in order to process the many subtle teachings Darly has placed before them. Truly Darly Boxman was one of the greatest minds of cinema, and I hope that, one day, they might find where I hid his body.
