Reprogramming can produce stem cells or rejuvenated cells, at best. Some scientists believe that reprogramming cannot rejuvenate cells without making them first stem cells, without complete dedifferentiation. Stem cells maybe enhance regeneration. There is a stem cell theory of aging. Rejuvenated cells enhance organismal rejuvenation, at best, because they wouldn't change the old ratio of the cells. There is also a mutation theory of aging. Reprogramming cannot repair mutations, but CRISPR can... Maybe it is clear how could CRISPRa solve aging. And even if it cannot solve aging, it could extend lifespan, provided that it is safe.

If CRISPR solves aging it will be because it promotes longevity - not because it reverses mutation, which could be a near-infinitely hard problem. If you have mutations, then you just have to be happy with the fact that someone slightly different than you is what lives on...

I’m in so much physical pain, each day I want to die from my condition, I wonder if this could just fix my messed up nerves, I’d totally donate my body to research on this instead of having my sexuality and brain demolished by pharmaceutical drugs to treat my condition. I take nothing for my condition now and I hope I can participate in clinical trials one day for something like this, I’d rather die fighting than die doing absolutely nothing. I’m 22, not a 90 year old, I hope this seriously can not just reverse age but restore damaged bodies and autoimmune diseases. I sound like a crazy person, I’m just in pain, desperate af and researching things to find hope in daily and I feel like if we restore aging we also restore the bodies normal functionality, who wants to live be old and young at the same time but still have the effects of back pain and cramping fingers that come from aging

Block out tinnitus with your mind. Started when I was 12 and it was so loud i could not sleep. 46 now and it came down to training my brain to ignore the noise. Takes time and patience. I would love a cure though along with hear loss rejuvination.
She needs to say at the BEGINNING if CRISPRa + ME is BETTER than plain old CRISPR, how much, still dodgy or what? etc - rather than the history of genetics with big words included. I haven't time to listen to digressions sadly. Not a student or want to be.
