    TP-Link Tapo HomeKit Secure Video cams seem a real winner in price and features. Hopefully there will be Matter supported cams soon.

    Thank you very much for this! The "IR" visibility issue is real, and you're the only person who has objectively talked about it. Do you know of any other cameras with limited visibility of the lights used for their night mode?
    Edit: I should have checked this video's description before purchasing, but the TP Link C225 is what's depicted in this video, but cheaper C200 does NOT have the near/far night vision distance adjustment that makes the IR lights invisible. That being said, the C200's IR lights are very dim, and I'm keeping it :)

      Glad I could help out! I think Tapo might be the only one actually -- it's not a common feature

    Adam, my search continues here as well for a baby monitor. Our kids are on a different floor on the other side of the house from us, so I really need sound detection. We have traditional baby monitors, but range is awful on them. Right now I have G3 cams bc Aqara cameras are just so fast to load the video. Tapo and Eufy cams just seem to have an extended load time that’s irritating. I don’t understand why Eufy disables sound when integrating with HomeKit. They blame it on Apple but other manufacturers allow it? Makes no sense. Great video, I may try the Tapo pan and tilt to see if I have any better results.

      So glad I could help you in deciding which baby monitor to get. It's weird Eufy disables sound detection for sure. I've had a different experience with the G3 camera i'm glad to hear it's working for you! Thanks for watching! 😊

    Thanks for your excellent videos
    I just suscribed to the Chanel.
    This is not related to the video
    But recently I saw one where you have one of the Aqara door sensor with a guard for the gate.
    I just ordered one in Etsy. Hopefully it could work and I am able to automate my backyard gate like the one that I saw that you did have and showed in the video
    Thanks again
    The best ..

    Q for the Tapo cams... How many live view / streams do they support? Eufy is only 1 and Aqara is 2 and do they support two way talk

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  Місяць тому

      I'm not sure the amount of live streams.. I'd check with Tapo. Also, they do support two way talk in apple home and the tapo app. Thanks for watching! 😊

    Hi Adam! You had your reasons choosing Eufy one, but if you had to choose between Tapo Pan/Tilt and Aqara G3, which would you choose? I know both have pros and cons, but I'm still undecided between the two.

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  2 місяці тому

      After using both cameras in their respective apps and in apple home, I prefer Tapo. From monitoring a baby perspective, both have the same similar features (live streaming, 2 way talk, privacy cover, work in apple home, etc) but what I like about tapo more is their app. faster and easier to use for adjusting settings and viewing playback. also depends if you have other aqara devices and want to use the g3 in automations. so i think it comes down what you want to do with the camera besides basic features.

      @@AdamsTechLife Thanks for replying. At the moment I don't have any other Aqara devices, but I might get some in the future.
      I'm still undecided because Aqara has a better design in my opinion, and it has USB-C, vs that proprietary thing from Tapo, which I don't even know if I can buy separately in white instead of black.
      Another annoying thing about Aqara would be that static noise in the live feed that you also presented in your review, and which it seems they have not gotten rid of.

    Could you not use an AppleTV connected to a small computer monitor using an HDMI cable and then either run the Home app or the manufacturers app (if they have one for the AppleTV) on the screen showing just that camera? You could have the monitor go to a screen saver to block out excessive light and then use the Apple remote if you detect crying to bring back up the video. The speakers in the computer monitor should be loud enough to wake you.
    That way I could charge my iPhone and have it display my nighttime screen of the analog clock and weather widgets.
