Came here from brain blaze. I didnt know you were blind, but watching you do this is inspirational. I have a friend who recently lost thier sight and is currently struggling learning to navigate the streets around thier house with assistance. They wouldn't cook by themselves. hopefully they can be as self sufficient as you. You have got a sub from me
Hi Dave! I suspect you're going to get a fair amount of traction from your Brain Blaze stans (hii friends!), and not trying to offer unsolicited advice obviously. BUT I think that your unique experiences and skills could make this channel a banger. I work in wine/hospitality now, but I have a masters in business management with a focus on brand management and social media strategy, and I also recently developed a disability that I've been trying to cope with for the last few years. (These things dont sound related, but they are, I promise!) I replied to another comment here saying something similar, but in the last few years I've developed an autoimmune problem that, intermittently, severely affects my ability to use my hands. Its made cooking a joyless and frustrating process, which was a major bummer because it is something I used to find incredibly cathartic and regenerative. But every time I tried I either couldn't make a particular recipe work (couldnt cut into a hard squash, etc), or I tried to push through and really hurt myself. My therapist had recommended trying to integrate things back into my life that made me feel like "me," so to feel like I couldnt do it again felt like another major setback and limitation. I was telling my friend, who has MS, about it, and she said something so freaking simple, but something I hadnt really considered before. "Why not buy pre-chopped onion/squash/(whatever food I struggle with)?" I was thinking, when you explained about your Alexa microwave, that you could offer categories of content that would help narrow your focus and drive traffic to people seeking resources on how the "old pros" of living as differently-abled manage to not just function, but thrive. If you offered not just recipes, but also maybe introduce folks to the strategies you use to navigate the kitchen and include tips and tricks (even if they seem basic or second nature to you...I promise, some of us havent thought of them!). It could also be a way to make content quickly (you could branch out into shorts, etc) and experiment with key search terms (ie: figuring out WHAT people who might be interested in content like yours are ACTUALLY searching for most often on UA-cam), then style your video titles after those), you could see a lot of success really quickly. Take a more nuanced stance, use your unique abilities and market your different-ness and I think you have the potential to become that world-famous youtuber of your dreams! Ive subscribed, best of luck!
This is about to blow up, paused the Brain Blaze Shark Tank video to see what this was. Wow, i did not expect this. Amazing really, and your a writer now. Way to go BlindDave. Inspirational! Just have your camera person flip that phone :)
I'm fully sighted and used to work as a chef but the idea of doing this without slight would absolutely terrify me. Honestly seeing this video has given me a greater realisation and appreciation, thank you. The dish looks delicious and I think I will give it a try!
I was thinking about this too, I'm fully sighted and work in hospitality as well (wine friend here :) ) but I always loved cooking. I also have celiacs disease and during covid I developed a secondary autoimmune disorder that, when having a flare up, severely impairs my ability to use my hands (extreme numbness, weakness, inability to feel heat at all on my palms or the backs of my hands, inability to sense how much pressure I'm applying in a given situation, extreme neuropathy, inability to determine texture/shape beyond extremes (ie: fuzzy blanket vs rough metal or plastic). Last time I tried making salsa, I gashed my hand BADLY...with full use of all my other faculties. And it wasnt even a particularly "bad" disability day. Since then, I've had to find workarounds and become more attuned to my body's current state of "ability" to do something I used to take for granted. Not being able to see while cutting things like potatoes or squash would make me absolutely isht myself lmao. Going to post this in another comment ~for the engagement~, but I would love to hear more about the things in this video like the alexa microwave settings, etc. Hope dave gets back to videos!!
Congratulations 👏 That was great and looked delicious 😋 Also your introductions on Business Blaze are Legendary ❤️❤️❤️ It's a pleasure to put a face to my favourite script writer 😉
I am glad to be able to put a face to the name of the "creature from the dungeon." I am also spellbound that he is such a great writer, and without sight to help him! Super impressive!
I wound up here because of your mentioning it in Brain Blaze, as did many of the commenters it would seem. I came to say that I really enjoy your scripts and thank you. Turns out you also make a delicious looking potato, will definitely give that a try.
This is fsr superior to many other "cooking" channels, especially for beginning content. Real shame Dave didn't continue, hopefully he can in the future. Thank you for all of your contributions, Dave!
Hey! OGBBer here. Keep up the good work Dave! Will be making these for the family soon. Don’t tell Simon that I immediately clicked off his video when I heard you had a channel. You’re the man!
me coming here because 'blind Dave potato skins' is a perfectly balanced intriguing title: me 2 mins later learning how to make the potato skins with utmost concentration: jokes aside, Dave you're a great explainer. every step makes sense and there is no fluff. this is just like a cooking class for recipe beginners (me).
update: 🤡 🤡 me following this step by step but I used a smaller pot so the water from the stock didn't really boil away... guess I'm having cream of mushroom soup and a couple of baked potatoes for dinner and trying again in a couple days 🤡 🤡 the soup is yummy tho thanks Dave
Hey Dave found your channel through brain blaze as a man in the culinary industry losing his sight rapidly you're an inspiration! I try and find all the instruments that aide people losing sight like liquid level indicators and sensory marked measuring implements your awesome bro if you start this back up I'll for sure watch every video!
Really glad you mentioned that you had a channel on that recent BB video! You’re an awesome writer, and you certainly have a great start for becoming an amazing presenter as well.
don't have anything to say that hasn't been said by 102 other comments... paused simon to check out the video... i was not disappointed... actually darned impressed... i now know that i am wasting my sighted life seeing things... go dave go!
I've heard a couple of times about you on Simon's Channels but when he mentioned your foray as a cook I got curious😊 I had a friend of mine with 5% sight and one day she challenged me to eat with my eyes closed. That time I realized I took this sense for granted. What I wanna say is I have respect for you. You handle it pretty well as far as I can tell and your dish looks better then most of mine.😂 If you would continue your cooking channel i'd honestly love to see more.👍🏾
Potatoes look great Dave! And well played my dude! Name drop your vid on BB. Absolutely Legend move. I DEF finished watching the BB video BEFORE I looked up blind Dave potato skins. Is this the beginning of the Blaze-verse? Get a bunch of vids from Dave and Kevin, Danny...Ilsa I believe is her name. But hey. This was a fun video Dave thank you! Good recipe and a good presenter. Liking subscribing and will watch anything that pops up. Cheers.
now i need to find someone to cook that for me because that looks tasty i'm too lazy myself (and i am so lazy that i dismantled my kitchen for renovations and never put it back together, it's a storage and washing machine room)
Came here from brain blaze. This seems like such a good recipe. I think im gonna make it tomorrow. If simon gets too cruel kmk ill come to europe and rescue you from yhe basement.

Dave just curious, how blind are you? Do you see shapes, or a blur or whats it like for ya bud? Those potato skins are better than I could make, cheers lol :)
Sorry for the delay, I don’t mind at all. I have what is called light perception. This means that if I go outside I can tell if it is daytime or night time and I can see bright lights indoors but that is about it.
good video bro. careful with the words this and that if you want a bit of advice but its pretty easy to infer. let me kno if you want me to share it around x

@@blinddave88 😆😆😆
Wait, Simon let you out of the Blazement?
Oh, I get it he's forcing you to cook for his entertainment
Thanks for all the comments. I have absolutely no idea why this video just received a copyright claim.
Simon is starting his hostile takeover of UA-cam.
the copyright owners of the seeds genome those potaters were grown from wants a cut
Sighted chefs that are jealous are trying to suppress it, LoL.
Just dirty trolls Dave.
I love cooking at home, I really enjoyed this rare glimpse of your life as a successful blind person. Also love your scripts for Simon.
Who else came here from Brain Blaze? ❤
You mean business blaze? 😂
The basement dungeon looks nicer than I thought 🤔
💯
Not exactly what I was expecting Dave to look like.
That said, he's cooking better than most people that I know, whom have the ability to see.
Yes! I want the Jehovah witness repellent. My mother-in-law is one. Anything to keep her away. 😁

I came from Brainblaze to say hi to a fellow blind person! Got a sub from me. I really hope you continue doing this!
Whistle boy needs to promote these videos more. I've never had so much anxiety as watching you grate garlic or stab potatoes. Love it.
#LetDaveDrive #FREEDANY
Behind the scenes info from Dave's secret wife: Dave has done a lot more driving than perhaps he should have done! 😂😂
Don't you worry Dave, we'll get you to over 1,000 views in no time
I'm sorry but who let Dave out of the basement to make this video?
Whistle Boy needs to upgrade his basement security before Kevin escapes too
This is the basement, lol.
He said he's cooking for 2 and a baby. That covers him, Kevin, and Danny. 😂
So great to see your lovely face😊 Thanks so much for contributing to Business Blaze, it's by far my favorite UA-cam channel.
I wound up here because of your mentioning it in Brain Blaze, as did many of the commenters it would seem. I came to say that I really enjoy your scripts and thank you. Turns out you also make a delicious looking potato, will definitely give that a try.
I paused Simon so fast to run over here and watch this lol.
They look amazing! Im grabbing the ingredients this weekend and giving it a go for sure!
Let me know how it goes. :-)
This is awesome! I love cooking and also you scripts are always good!!
it fun to hear the actual voice behind the scripts too omg.
Bravo Dave! I didn't know I needed a voice controlled microwave until now. Definitely want to see that how-to video
Sup Dave, love your scripts
This is fsr superior to many other "cooking" channels, especially for beginning content. Real shame Dave didn't continue, hopefully he can in the future.

brain blaze sent me here.... I'd like to purchase your Jehovah's witness launcher please. does it work on Mormons as well?
The prototype only works for Jehovah’s Witnesses, but there’s no reason why it couldn’t be configured to get rid of any troublesome door knockers.
Is this in Simon's basement or from before you started writing for him and got locked down there with Danny and Sam?
Jk love your scripts and this is a cool look into your everyday life .
good video bro. careful with the words this and that if you want a bit of advice but its pretty easy to infer. let me kno if you want me to share it around x
