Ok... so when Barry goes out of the box it's wild card hit or wildly miss... When Jamie goes out of the box it's breaking news with death threats! I wonder what happens when Mike, Ben and James go out of the box? I imagine Ben would break the universe...
@@GTisJAVO1996 Why do you think I did it? I used to go to a local dive, they just had the TV volume up or the local country radio station playing. We could talk, play pool, insult each other, get shot down by the waitresses, fun times.
Great Battle. I almost died laughing at Jamie's perfect timing with the skillet placement on top of the blender with Mike standing there dumbfounded with both hands filled with greens!!!
And did people really rage against the paella burrito? Man, first world problems... Part of the beauty of cooking is trying new things! I personally would love seeing Sauerkraut, Bratwurst or Sauerbraten being used in new ways (German here) What you are doing with those potatoes alone is amazing. Once my kitchen is complete I will try many of the things you have done! Keep it up guys and keep finding new things to try :)
Have you ever watched a video of an Italian dish being made by a non-Italian with a slight twist? I can guarantee you that there will be comments how they did the dish wrong and tell everyone how it's "done properly" by their mama.
Yeah, I've read those but I usually do not pay any attention to them :D I'm just there to enjoy the food and get inspired to do stuff myself It's exhausting really. It's „just" food. At the end of the day, it's important if it tastes good to those who eat it. Like everything, food evolves too but people do not get that :D We humans can be pretty stupid and small-minded at times, huh? The more I'm glad that they did not let them stop those news :)
You may be right. However Ben and James are professionals and even in the ultimate battles Barry, Jamie and Mike get help from them with the recipes and they get a lot of their ideas from the internet i.e. other peoples. They definitively know the rules and are thus allowed to break them. There is another thing why I deem such thinking a bit small-minded: Many good things get discovered by accident and People who are still learning are allowed to break the rules if it helps them improve. And sometimes the original is simply not to their taste so why not alter it? You say its the ignorance they don't like and that could be right. But then they are being rather ignorant themselves I think. But people like to whine and nag about things on the internet anyway :D That's why I pay them no attention in the first place I'm just here for the food :D
I agree! Cooking is all about mixing great flavours and that's what they were! Some people get to high and mighty about the wrong things I guess... But I mean i'm sure they had their reasons!
But then you now who wins before you watched it. And also, I think, is the thumbnail dish just the prettiest for many clicks but it doesn't mean it has to be the tastiest. For me it doesn't has to change :)
But it would add another layer to the battle, also giving purely visually pleasing recipes a fighting chance. It would also mean Ben does not have to pick between visuals and taste, he would always judge on taste. (remember the cereal battle where he picked Mike's)
I loved Jamie's reaction to Barry's dish. Takes a bite, moment of processing, and then "...oh Man..." and the look on his face was great. "And the horseradish...!!!"
Ahahahaha Barry cooks like me! OH NO I FORGOT...GET IN THERE FLAVOUR, COME ON, PLEASE GET IN!! AHHH IT'S GOING TO OVERCOOK!!! I hope it's still edible...
This was definitely the most fun battle in a long time! Big fan of the banter you guys all have. It's something you don't see all that often on UA-cam nowadays, and It's what makes your videos so great, particularly these battles.
I like that this is the "everyone dump on Jamie" (including the editors) episode. Also, theme suggestions: Tea, history (making dishes based on old pre-modern recipes)
wow, seriously, Jamie received threats over a burrito? People need to calm down. Immature smh.. I think Mike wins this battle. Look at that plating! And the potato skins are the star of the whole dish.
This was a walk in the park for them because they’ve got so much experience with them 😂😂 at every opportunity available they pinch the chef’s unwanted skins, season them with paprika and roast them until crispy and scoff them like a child scoffs sweets 😂
Hello. I can't believe the Sorted guys that cooked today are not trained chefs and are trained in other fields! The best I can do with potato is in a salad, fries or jacket. Well done, you've really inspired me.x
I absolutely love you guys! I watch your videos religiously every week but still watching some I haven’t seen! I would love to see a series of quick and easy meals for a family! But make it chef vs normals! Because Jamie and Barry have kids it would be interesting to see what they could come up with compared to Ben and Jamie! Just a thought :) being a parent I would much appreciate it :D Also I think every women needs a Jamie! Someone that goes all in on a Yorkshire is perfect!
Just rewatching these and I find it interesting that Barry basically repeats his Ultimate Sandwich Battle, the second-ever Ultimate Battle, recipe only using potatoes skins instead of bread.
You know when you have something on in the background you've watched before and then you hear something that just stops you in your tracks? "Youthful beef dripping."
the part when Mike just YEETED the pan off the blender with his head broke me so hard. my sides hurt from laughing. I called my BF over to rewatch it and he broke laughing too.
I was just watching old battles - and I noticed that Barry did basically the same thing in this battle that he did in The Ultimate Sandwich Battle! Crazy!
I literally just came back to this battle to hear Mike sing "grate some parmesan" because I've been trying to remember which battle that was from since this morning!
Does the recipe for these still exist anywhere? I checked the Ultimate Battles cookbook and it isn't there and it does not appear to be anywhere online either. :(

What universe are we in that Mike is making the pinterest dish, Barry is making the steak dish, and Jamie is making the out of the box dish??
WHAT IS HAPPENING
Oon-Hui Ng Mike has made a lot of dishes, because he knew the Internet would love them
Love this comment
Jamie goes out of the box also

I love how Jamie just starts talking in James direction and James is like "Why?" :DD
Jaro Nightmare Yeah that was perfect 😂
Hey Jamie, if it makes you feel any better about offending people with a burrito, at least they called you a chef
I once offended an entire bar by suggesting dub-step should not be played in a cowboy bar
Sheepdog Smokey I think you’re right in that

Cailen Gothard I always laugh at this😂
I really like the way you did this episode. Having uncut parts where they are arguing is amazing. Keep it up!
"FLAVOR,FLAVOR, GET IN THERE FLAVOR" this made me laught so hard
9:45 I love when James is sloooowly reaching for the well... I'll call it a puffy Yorkshire pud
“Jay are you fat skins or just big boned?” Holy moly I haven’t laughed that hard in a while.
Surprised That Jamie didn’t just make the “Super mega loaded potato” with 2 pounds of cheese and Streaky bacon. I’m impressed
Ethan S the hell is streaky bacon? A streak is something you get on Snapchat 😂
Adeline A It's basically like the typical American bacon
Adeline A Oh dear, I never thought I'd see the day where someone's affiliation with the word "streak" is from Snapchat, I am an old man
No he used chorizo which is really, really original and out of the box for him....
He already did that in the baked potato battle.
Great Battle. I almost died laughing at Jamie's perfect timing with the skillet placement on top of the blender with Mike standing there dumbfounded with both hands filled with greens!!!
