You're nuts and i love it, so do the starfishes
I'm waiting for the video where you build an entire house
Another one?
@@blinddave88 lol, Yes you can use a vacation home, especially after this 4+ hour long heist that you wrote.
Was anyone else nervous that we couldn’t see his other hand until the very end? I’m assuming you would have measured it out or even got your camera person to check first but since i couldn’t see it i was half convinced you were about to chop off your fingers
Measure, measure again, bring the blade down with the motor switched off to check, measure again, bring the blade down again, move hands, cut.
Go Dave!
Sneaky preview
Considering me being sighted and terrified of power tools, this is the stuff of nightmares...😄
video title did not lie
I love hearing dave talk about these things with Simon and then getting to see it on Dave's channel.
Nothing wrong here, i know plentt of people with perfectly fine vision that struggle to use power tools correctly. Well done, Dave!
Can Dave literally see nothing, or does he have very, slight vision and is legally blind?
He, well I, have light perception
@@blinddave88so you can see light & dark?
Yes :D.
It would be cool to have a Dave's DIY video 🙂 Really interested when you mentioned other tools what sort of projects you do!
I will definitely do something when I finally get round to tidying up my workshop.
Is Dave starting an ASMR channel?
Never
Dave is awesome.
Damn Dave! Always reminding me the only one holding me back is myself 🤣 cool video :)
Nice one Dave. The first time you slipped it into a script that you use power tools, Simons reaction was priceless :)
Did simon fall for your spoof email from today's BB script?
Yes, yes he did. It was worth all the hard work :-)
You optimist
I think this is the first time, I can’t watch 😅🫣 but I’ll give the ‘like’ and view. I’m just really relieved I didn’t hear a shout. By the way, it’s not because you’re blind, I just don’t like watching people use power tools. It freaks me out!
💚💚💚
Dave keep it, looking forward to the longer vids! Random question, as you work out a lot from touch is there any textures you find creepy/weird ?
I have given your question some serious consideration and, no, I don’t think so.
@1:00:00 There are actually several Floppitron UA-cam channels. Some are just drives while others are elaborate enough to include scanners and printers.
I can match your jumpers with Cat5 connectors! One of the teachers I worked with got tired of the cardboard box of used connectors on my windowsill and put them in a large vase like those rocks that were popular for a while.
Folding US currency different ways is what is usually taught for identification. Because I have a wallet with two sections, I have less styles - ones and tens are unfolded, fives and twentys are in half width-wise, and when the bank hates me fiftys or hundreds are in half lengthwise. Coins are a different sizes EXCEPT quarters and the rare coin dollar where you have to be careful to check for ridges on the edge ($1 coins are either smooth or have letters engraved).
Very interesting, thanks for sharing Dave :D I've learnt a lot of cool things from your channel!
In South Africa you get a fine if you don't have your drivers license on you when you get pulled over
hey Dave! few days ago I was making some cabinets and after dry fitting, as not all the parts were perfectly the same, I needed to somehow mark my mating connections before sanding and finishing. As the workpiece was later sanded and coated, I couldn't use ink or pencil marks, so I started thinking... well probably I should just notch it into the edge that will be the inside of the joint, but after four or five that would be a hassle, and barely even visible, so my mind went to just use dots, much simpler! Then again, after the four dot it would be really problematic, and that's when this video of your yours just burst into my mind! I was like A-HA! BRAILLE NUMBERS! So I just looked up the numbering system in braille, drilled some tiny dots ( I already had a reference to top left, because of the connections type ) and voila it was a perfectly useable marking even after sanding and finishing!! So thanks for broadening our horizons, this video actually was useful for me in a real-world application! :)
Nifty Whats your twitter handle?
There is a link in the description, but it is Blinddave88
@@blinddave88 I'm old Thanks dude
even as a sighted person, if I fill a glass, I just hold it under the sink as i massively overfill it, then just spill a little out the side into the sink. This seems... like a specific gadget for a specific thing when if it's just water u can just splash a little away
Well, yes, you can pour water away. I wasn’t going to demonstrate it with my finest whiskey :-)
Oh how many of those I've drowned whilst making coffee. But have a setup on a tray I worked out to get everything together. It's great for making coffee first beep is water then followed by adding milk to the last beep. Love the content.
I can’t even pour that clean 😂
You can actually cut the middle prom to make it shorter if you prefer more milk :-)
This is such a cool device. Honestly, as a sighted person, I could prolly use this as I can sometimes just be in lala land as I pour water from my pitcher. 😂
Drop me a private message on Twitter and you can have it :-) Nobody else has done it yet
@@blinddave88 Oh man that's super cool of you! But I live in the US, so shipping costs would be silly. Also no Twitter account. But thanks anyway!
Horribly noisy! Have a great day!
Do you mean the background sound? Usually, I turn off the basement ventilation system before I film. This time I forgot :-)
@@blinddave88 no mate, from the liquid leveller! Sounded like the left engine on a plane was on fire 😂
@@blinddave88 Simon installed ventilation for you all down there? How kind of him, lol.
Yes. You could not say you did not hear it as an excuse for a spillage :-)
that is quite a price difference!
Great video. Looking forward to the longer form content :)
I would like to hear some more of your bar stories in long form videos 😅
Seconding this, Dave! Even just giving more context to stories you've included in scripts would be a lot of fun. I'm sure there are things you've had to leave out or gloss over for the sake of brevity in the script, and you're a great storyteller!
When I hit 2000 subscribers, I’m going to do a live Q&A stream. Perhaps there will be an opportunity to share some stories then :-)
Word Homie xD
Interesting and useful device. Thank you.
This was really cool, thank you for sharing Dave!
Oh, looking forward to another long form video. I quite enjoyed the Dave and Julian sharing some beer and chatting, if you are up to it, please make kore of those. Or invite other guests, some of the other writers stuck in the basement maybe?
Tuesday:D
My kids asked if there are blind people who know how to use sign language
I am sure that there probably are. However, I suspect real world applications would be limited.
Starfishes love ya guys!!!
Nice one! Looking forward to the long video next week!
