- Blocked names have been around for years, but recently have become a mystery to the public because of their interesting history and the random OG names that have been lost to the filter. Because of how confusing the situation is, it's never really been explained in detail. So, in today's episode of Minecraft Uncovered, we explore the mystery of Minecraft's blocked OG names.

Yeah, Bird was one of the accounts that got deleted but the name was blocked by Mojang as a result

It's funny that somme languages have their bad words got banned, BUT in french have all of them not banned all of them are taken ( i even have one ). Maybe mojang don't the french, at least we can have some good fun with thoses :p

so i had a question i hoped this vid would answer but it sadly didn't, that is, how come accounts like 8 and G or .Flow are allowed to play and be used even with all the popularity surrounding them, but others such as R and other 17+ char arent?
Well, R was deleted because Mojang discovered it was sold, and 8, G, and .Flow were locked for the same reasons. R was just the first time they had to deal with the issue, so they handled it a bit differently. 17+ characters are only disallowed due to restrictions within multiplayer, they aren't locked or anything.

Yes, I believe I covered that in the video. It was deleted by Mojang in a way that the name is considered to be "in use", even though the account it's linked to is completely removed from most of the API.
