- ARE YOU READY TO TOP THIS RECORD? - Paddlefish snagging season in Missouri opens March 15 and runs through the end of April. The state record catch for paddlefish was set in 2015, and it’s a whopper of a story.
-------- NOTE: THE MISSOURI STATE RECORD FOR PADDLEFISH WAS ONCE AGAIN BROKEN AFTER THIS VIDEO WAS RELEASED. THE NEW RECORD OCCURRED IN THE SPRING OF 2022 AT LAKE OF THE OZARKS. JIM DAIN'S FISH WEIGHED IN AT 114-pounds, 10-ounces, which barely edged out the previous state-record paddlefish (shown in this video) by one ounce. ---------

The narrator makes it so much better lol
Who is the narrator?? He reminds me of someone or he narrates other things
He makes it seem like a Christmas story for a young kid. Lol
That is what keeps me pumped up about fishing. The unknown!! Awesome story.

one of these fish were snagged the other day in PA, there are very few left here. Kentucky and Mizzou are lucky to have so many
Yeah because of the morons who only catch them to brag about.
Couldn't get a better narrator for a fishin vid 🤙
Oh man. Paddlefish are so cool. I hope their numbers keep improving

How can anyone not love fish. 🐟
That narrator man amazing makes me proud to be a missourian 💯👍
I wish there was a Texas version of this. Awesome
Oklahoma isnt very far depending on where you're at. We have world class spoonbill fishing.
Isn't 140.9 pounds actually 140 lbs 14.4 oz? Might actually be bigger than you thought either way congrats!
Dont need a boat when ya Bank fish, but its awesome to see all of that coming out a local water system that i live by!
The problem is paddle fish are filter feeders, and don't eat bait on a hook, you can only snag them, so therefore, you need to cover as much water as possible.
I support the MDC. I'm MO bred all the way. I'm wanting to build my channel towards showing others how beautiful the Ozarks are. I would love to be a part of MDC somehow, even being a Vlogger would be amazing. God Bless.
We should snag together
Lets snag fellers
I don't know why but the narrator in the beginning sounds like some sorta Christmas story
Their record has been beat at the Lake of the Ozarks, 2022 by 1 oz.
Truman dam once when I was anout 10 I snagged one on accident while using a crank bait.. wild experience lol
I always hope they put the big fish back. Let another try.
Wow!!
If the federal government hadn't dammed up everything in the 60's and 70's, there would have been no need for paddlefish hatcheries. They used to spawn in the shallow running water upstream. My father talks about fishing for them where the Grand River part of Truman Reservoir is now. He said that then you could watch for them to cause an eddie in the water and if you were good with a rod and reel, you could cast beyond it just a bit then snag it-- basically instead of blindly trying to snag one, you could actually fish by sight for them.
Wowza
Is it legal to snag
No they gave him the state record for an illegally snagged fish
Im too poor for a boat...been trying bank snagging...no luck...yet.
Please take lots of videos of the living giant bighead carp fish Catch huge live bighead carp fish, please shoot video to show
One conservation of fossil fish from extinction but those have, who care, to catch them for record.
Columbia river is full of them suckers if caught them bigger than 140 pounds down here in Louisiana.....snagging them I hate snagging them when I'm snagging for catfish.
Randall Miller why would u have to snag catfish?
HAUSfishing cuz he probably sucks with bait
yea wtf u only snag fish that dont bite catfish bite thats just cruel
HAUSfishing People in Louisiana ain't got no money fer bait?
Do you not know how to catch cat fish?
And you killed a very rare fish?
snagging is so stupid.
Just like yoooouuuu
I just don’t understand why people snag. It’s just inhumane, and it hurts the fish. Why not just leave these guys alone? They just swim around feeding all day. I’m just saying it would’ve been better if people thought, “hey, the fish can’t be caught with bait, so let’s just leave it at that they’re not meant to be caught” I know they stock so many, but snagging is mean. Amazing story though I gotta admit that was just insane!
Because paddlefish get huge so the fight must be something else. I’m not sure what the regulations are but according to google they taste good too so they might have ate theirs
