  • How I fitted my LED lights in the back of my VITO to improve the lighting. This could also be useful for someone converting a camper van as a step by step guide.

    neil, with the berlingo away to pastures new do you plan on giving the vito the ceramic coating.
    with being ADR would you be able to install a diesel heater in the back for those winter nghs?

      Hi, maybe not, although it did make the van look nice and it was easier to keep clean, I am not sure if the benefit out weighed the time and cost.
      I dobt fancy a diesel heater i fwel uncomfortable with having the fumes anywhere near where i sleep.
      If I was going to add a heater it would be a modern camping battery and a low wattage panel heater.

    Why didnt you wire them unto the existing light fitting to work with the door?

      Because when tramping I want the lights in the back.
      Their is a connection in the back of the van. I prefer my way

    Hi, on average what percentage of total miles per week/month is acceptable for dead miles?

      @neptunecourier  Рік тому

      Hi Joe, tough question, and hard to quantify. I aim for as low as possible, and because of where I live I often have a 25mile empty journey to my first job. That though is not uncommon. I have not tracked the dead miles and unlike other drivers I don't get hung up on it. A few days ago for example a driver pal of mine drove from Glasgow to Manchester empty. And another drove from Glasgow to Liverpool empty.

    Would of been an easier install just to splice into existing
    load area light no need for another switch would new LED’s would come on & off with factory fit light as normal

      on the new vito, it can causes a engine management light to come on as it overloads the existing LED circuit.
      And I would not want it that way as I may be tramping and want the light on for a while

      @@neptunecourier SOrry just asked a similar question above. But surely as the new Vito has an option for an LED strip from factory so they would just use the existing lighting circuit?
