    Thanks for watching - What are your thoughts on this Jackery?

    So, for $4K you get a box that is capable of putting out 3,000 watts for about 45 minutes, which is 600 watts shy of the max you can pull through a TT-30 RV connection, though it should accomplish most things. Maybe you could extend the run time by spending more money on solar panels or extended battery packs, if available, but I doubt it will get you through a weekend of camping, or even an extended power outage running the necessities in your home.
    Imho these devices, while they may be useful in certain scenarios, cost a lot of money for a relatively modest electrical storage capacity, and function as a very expensive brick once their capacity is depleted.

      They pair perfectly with a small gas generator to recharge them.
      Having a 1000w gas generator paired with this, plus some solar, is much better in my view than a 3000w or bigger gas generator that is much louder, bigger and requires more maintenance

      Only about $2,200 with their discount! A DIY system costs about $1,500 to $2,000, but they don't have an app, so this is a real deal at $2,200. However, for $4,000; it's not worth it for sure.

      @ In the video, it was charging at 1700+ watts, iirc, so, unless there's an option to limit charging current in the app, a 1kw generator is going to have a bad day.....BUT, now, I'm spending another $500 on a generator to make my $4K battery box workable, AND I get all the joys and headaches of generator ownership.....So, if I'm buying and maintaining a generator anyway, why not spend $1,000 on a 3kw generator and be done with it?

      Thank you. Was trying to form a post like yours, but you beat me to it and probably did it better. What you get for FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS is troubling.

    I just don’t understand why these battery packs are called generators. They don’t generate power they just store it.

    According to the Lowes link that you provided, this model has LiFEPO4 batteries and is rated at 4000 charge cycles not 2000. Please clarify.

      Interesting, its definitely regular Lithium Ion. I have no connection to Lowes but I just sent their customer service a note with a link to Jackerys page telling them they need to update their specs.

      Vendor's websites OFTEN have WRONG INFO. Before making a major purchase, I always go to the manufacturer's website and download the User Manual.

    Can you parallel a lifpo4 expansion battery or do you have to use solar input?😮

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  12 днів тому +3

      You can do another battery but its only their proprietary one still listed as Lithium Ion, but yes if you have the right connection and settings you could go through the solar input to simulate charging voltage

    can you charge the jackery with a generator while it is also supplying power to a appliance?

      Thank you. I have honestly thought of doing that, puncturing the whole thing or blowing holes through it. I guess I need to figure a way to be a little scientific so I can do it on brand as I get them. I am open to any ideas

    Thank you for the informative video!...appreciate your pointing out the heightened fire safety risk regarding Lithium-Ion batteries…I have searched on fires and recalls for Lithium-Ion and LiFePO4 portable power station products from Jackery, Bluetti, EcoFlow and Anker…I didn’t find anything!!...I’m hoping that this excellent product safety track record continues as these units age further…I have several units as old as 5 years in reserve for power outages....they're like new and periodic testing shows consistent year over year performance!!!
