The first time "Boss" leaned forward and got in our face, I jumped in my seat lol. This game does a seriously good job at being creepy af

kudos to allegra clark for nailing saito’s diction. like, i know that’s their whole job as voice actors, but being able to see (hear? lol) firsthand how she can switch up her voice to sound like a whole new characters? chills, man. such a great performance, from her and the entire cast, god the way all the vas who are involved in the body hop keep to their character while in new bodies just sells the whole thing so well. this is one of my favorite routes for how chilling it is, thanks for the upload!
Allegra Clark is always an amazing voice actor, but I honestly think this might be a career-best performance for her.
This is like by far the best voice acted scene in the entire game. Insane how much her voice and animation posture changes the character.

I loved this dark path cause If you look at every single loose end in each path. You can actually see Saito in each part. The levels Psychs that you see with Saito involved, you get closer to how he was, what he felt, who he was. It was such a dark twist. Hell you actually see him in each other path if you look back at them. Saito was there since the very beginning. Since a Cruel cruel devil
Seriously, it's scary and a total mindfuck to look back and realize how in practically every route (yes even the "good" ones) the characters you've grown close to and thought were alive are actually dead. In Ota's Route, it seems like you saved Iris but in reality the person you saved was So in Iris's body. Same for Mizuki's Route. In the Annihilation Route, you learn that EVERYBODY is dead, and even in the Iris Route (though Iris doesn't get killed by Saito) she still dies in Date's arms as a result of her brain tumor. Literally the only route where they all live is the Resolution Route. Well that and the Atami Route if you consider that one canon lol. Wait, no, even in the Atami Route I think Iris is dead by the time you get around to asking the receptionist to go to Atami with you. Fuck. 🤡And of course, no matter which route you take Shoko and Renju always end up dead.
@swampexpertextraordinaire6896 I think he meant that Saito actions are still a factor in the route cause he was in Renju body at the time and still trying to kidnapped her and couldn't reach her

In all seriousness though, something I like about this ending is that the good guys basically boil down to Date and Pewter. It was the first path I took and I was convinced Pewter was the only trustworthy guy in the game.

It's been two years since I played AI and even now watching this route still gives me physical chills, I absolutely loved Nirvana Initiative but for me nothing will top the feeling of experiencing this reveal for the first time
Honestly I wish they expanded on this ending more.
Even if it's a bad ending seeing how the characters cope with these endings can be interesting.
That's exactly what my made up story in "Nirvana Initiative" is going to be about (I like to mix the routes in visual novels into one story, but I have to finish them first). It's gonna be like this. Mizuki, just like Ryuki, also holds some superiority over the simulation. But unlike Ryuki, she has the hability to control it, even if unconsciously. She used it to bring Boss, Ota, Hitomi and Iris back to life. But she needs to be in the area for the alteration to work. Without her, everybody else remembers how events truly transpired. That is, until she sees the Naix's CEO alive on that factory alongside Jin. Then the illusion starts breaking apart. She starts experiencing the same episodes as Ryuki.

I've just realized this route's symbolism. To do it and to finish the story in here, you must be like Saito. Have nothing but hate for all of these people, and feel immense pleasure in their suffering.
And even if you look at the murders from a superficial perspective, there's still so much to be told. Renju could be Shojo's murderer because he could perceive her as the reason why their family ended. Iris could be Renju's killer because she could have learned the truth about her birth mother and perceive the man as someone who disrespected her memory completely. Sejima could be Iris's murder because being his ilegitimate daughter, she could ruin his entire career. And Boss could be Sejima's murderer because he's the last lose end regarding the truth behind the original Cyclops'serial killer. They all paid for their web of sins.
That'd be nice if it weren't for the fact the results of Psyncing and their effects on the story are coin flips rather than choices, even if you play for a minute or two of the route splits. To get the endings with less casualties you even have to let Mizuki stay mute rather than healing her, that just felt like being an ass.
I got to the cliffhanger of this route before any other ending and just thought this game was dark as shit.
@swampexpertextraordinaire6896 indeed. However, the thing is, I enjoyed how Sejima, Iris and Ota met their demise and felt horrified at the fact I was supposed to do the route in which they lived. If I really was thinking of Mizuki's best interests, shouldn't I be a bit happier at Iris and Ota being alive and well ?

@@JabamiLain Sejima too? You're making it sound like you commit to this ending after the Boss reveal, but at that point you *can't even progress* until the very end of the game, so you are forced to go somewhere else.
I mean I didn't really care for them either but your interpretation still sucks, whether I enjoyed seeing them die or not has no relation on if I actually got to their death first or not. What you're saying is that if you saw some random button, pressed it, and caused like 100 deaths or something as a result, then you'd have to have been a psycho to press the button, assuming you enjoyed the result. Even though you had no idea what the button does.
Also, how do you "tailor" a route on a blind run, with the aforementioned Somnium randomness? I assume you are referring to my last complaint and how on replays you might not want to be interrupted, but the focus wasn't that there was a cliffhanger, the focus was that this path was drastically different from the others.
I know you can change paths but I assume most people like me thought sticking to one at first was a good idea.

Dont feel that way I did the same thing. This game is designed with the intention that anyone can end up on any timeline. That's the beauty of the progression system. The only thing you ever gain throughout each timeline is knowledge.
In fact this game foreshadows the fuck out of the games plot that if you were to take your time to piece it all together you would be able to figure out the body snatcher reveal before they show it. Or even after they reveal it you can have that eureka monument of having all the pieces finally making sense.
Don’t feel bad. I also did the same thing and smacked the TV, as well. It shocked me to hell seeing Iris die and seemingly getting the “bad end” on my first try.

In my first playthrough, I was terrified of Saito.
In my second watching of this scene, I was still terrified, but damn, the way he's talking in Boss's voice is giving me confusing feelings. 27:53 makes me SO gay.
Saito: We’ll it’s been fun Date. I mean for me, but not for you. As for you, everyone important to you is dead.
Mizuki: Hey I’m still alive!
Saito: EVERYONE IMPORTANT!!!
This is all 999 and Zero Escape again but seriously it never gets old, the mind jumping is just too interesting
21:35 Such a well-done scene, honestly the entire interrogation is phenomenal, from the animation to the voice acting to the writing. All of it built this sense of suspense and when Saito leaned forward it legit kinda scared me lol, almost like a jumpscare. Hearing his story, how he leapt from body to body, killing every person Date cared about including Boss, just to get back at you for something you didn't even have control over... brrr, I actually felt nauseous listening to the whole thing, step-by-step realizing the awful truth. Everybody is dead, Saito killed them all, and in a way it's kind of your fault (though not really) for being connected to all of them. You often hear the term "gut-wrenching" to describe a particularly powerful, sad scene in a book or movie, but this was literally gut-wrenching. It's a sign of great writing/game design indeed, when a story is able to make you physically feel what the characters are likely feeling. Poor Date at 32:37, I really felt the despair he felt, like everything was just hopeless.

Saito have also ruined the life of 2nd Mizuki. With each new AI, Annihilation route becomes more and more destructive

@@CupRamenMan Boss is adoptive mother of Mizuki Kuranushi. With Boss being dead, the girl would get returned back to Aioen or some other orphanage, where she'd not get an AI-Ball (staying blind on left eye). And, by the end of Resolution route of AI:NI, it's suggested that 2nd Mizuki's heart problem would be solved with expensive PERGE system that only Boss would arrange (like she did with Iris's nanomachine treatment), but if Boss is dead, Mizuki would die from heart problems sometime later.
This being my first route to kickstart the game....man. lmao. Im glad they locked the END portion until you got more intel because holy shit, thats how you rope a player in
I don't know how to explain this, but for this duology, I'm just REALLY into the bad routes. They're SO entertaining for me. These dances, while captivating...they don't reflect me or how I see the stories.
I remember this quote: "We cling to hate fiercily because if we let it go, we would have to confront our pain." So why do I hate Iris, Ota and Falco so much ? Why did I allow my inner Saito to awake ? What am I running from by wanting to kill them ? And what am I going to run from here ? Is it the same thing from the last game ? Or is it a new one ?

You don’t! You can use the flowchart to go back to each chapter, and if you click “reopen investigation” you don’t have to replay the whole chapter either.
The game doesn’t give you hints to complete the appendix, but I found a guide online to do that myself :-)

@@414PRisky Ok I'm assuming you are either doing the true ending right now or haven't touched it yet. So I'll try to avoid spoilers for that.
This comment is going to be long so ill separate it into parts so keep up with me.
*Part 1 A New Swap*
Long ago Date in his original body was a pastime police and assasin for the kamakura gang. One day Date met hitomi someone who would eventually become the love of his wife. He was living a happy life and now had a family
Of course Date wanted to eventually stop being an assasin. Rohan told him he could do so on the condition that he would do one last job. That job being killing hitomi and iris. The reason being is the kumakuras found put about Iris' existence and essentially wanted the two to be silenced in revealing any information that would ruin Senator So's name.
Of course Date was having none of that so he went to the Boss and Pewter and he asked,
"Hey guys I need you to do me a solid I dont want to kill my family so can you guys help me avoid that?"
They were like "sure fam"
The goal was simple. Swap Date with Rohans body and use rohan to tell the kumakuras to never kill hitomi and iris. While Rohan would be arrested using Dates previous assassinations as an excuse to arrest rohan while hes stuck in Dates body.
Of course shit hits the fan as Rohan escapes realizing what was going on and initially belines it to hitomi house to kill her and iris.
Of course Date in Rohans body accidentally shoots hitomi and Rohan is arrested.
After that Date uses Rohans body as a way to spy on the kumakuras. For the police essentially sacrificing his life with hitomi and iris to save thier lives.
*Part 2 The Swap Strikes Back*
Date was doing well for himself until he got a task to get dirt on Saito Sejima on him being the second Cyclops serial killer. So Date essentially disguised as Rohan talks to Saito and says.
"Hay remember those killings we did together dude. Could you remind me in detail about them. I've got another job for you but I need to know what we did in the past first"
Saito of course sees through Date and essentially threatens him with his armed men going like
"Hey show me how you did this and I my guards wont blow your brains out"
Date was all like.
"Yeah sure thing..."
Date would lead Satio to the experimental swap machine and basically used the stimulation and sedative features to give Date and energy boost to escape with Satios body after the swap and leave Satio now in Rohans body left in his sedated state.
Date of course left too early for the swap to fully be complete so it left both himself and saito with super amnesia and a fragmented mind.
Boss would find Date and later give him a new identity and creat an entire coverup for the events that took place.
*Part 3 Return of the Swap*
It would take Saito years to fully rember all that had transpired but after he did he was furious. So given the memory of where the body swap machine was he utilized that to systematically take revenge on Date by killing everyone he had ever loved and finally reclaiming his own body.
First using his connections with Shoko he would first swap with her. This event would eventually lead to shokos death which was caused by Shoko being existentially terrified of the body swap.
She ran up the stairs in horror until she was on the roof until she feel of the roof and killed herself by accident. This lead to the event known as "Rohans Suicide".
Then using Shokos body Saito would Swap with and killed Renju while he is in Shokos body. Then Swap with Iris and kill Iris in Renjus body. Then Swap with So and kill him while he is in Iris' body and the he would Swap with and kill Boss while she was in So's body.
Which leads to present day Saito wants to Swap bodies back with Date so he can have his brain defect back that Allowed Satio to gain pleasure from killing people.
My iris and Ota died so I’m thinking something went wrong in the somnia somewhere
