Love how your entryway turned out but I really like the painting and how you put the brush strokes on there with the Mod podge! Love your videos! God bless
Great tutorial. I was a little confused about top coating, but I think I have it now. I also like all the examples you gave for projects at the end; you made me glad I bought the larger container, ha ha!
you guys look great together, work great together; you get to the point, easy instructions, cover all points, professional speaking and posture, i would totally watch your tv show... (turn down the music, though. overpowers the voices)
Can the same technique be used on an alcohol ink abstract to attach it to a wood plank? The alcohol ink is already seal with varnish - should I still mod podge it after I affix it to wood??? Thanks!
Hi some advice please: I have seen a lot of guidance which gives advice to spray the paper with water before placing onto the wood. I want to add wrapping paper to a balsa box lid - any comments please? Thank you in advance
Thanks for reaching out! So we can best help you out, we’d need a little more info about your project and application. Please give us a shout at our toll free number to chat one-on-one with a member of our consumer advisory team about the project. We’re at 1-800-842-4197, and the department is open from 8am-5pm EST Monday-Friday.
Great video! Which Mod Podge did you use for the scrabble piece? Would you guys be willing to do a tutorial with that technique and specific mod podge? Thank you.
I have a ? Did u say go in one direction? Because in the video you went 2 directions then across back and forth on finishing coat? Hoping you can let me know
Can printed paper also be used with modge podge like napkins are I'm talking like roses or feathers or any flowers or anything that's printed on regular paper
Can I ask I’m new to this I have a clear and a glossy mod Podge do both dry clear ? And I want to stick something on a wardrobe with chalk paint under neath will it still dry clear
If I'm using adhesive stickers to stick onto grosgrain ribbon will I still need to add some mod podge as a base before I add the stickers? Or can I just stick the stickers onto the ribbon then go over it with the mod podge?
Hello I have a question I can't find an answer to... would you know if you are able to apply mog pog to a table top as I love the shine and put over a a waterproof varathane to make it safe and waterproof?? Thank you for reading... hope you have an answer. Karen 🤛
Hi, i have pre adhesive wallpaper (I need to soak it in water first to activate glue). But I don't find it sticks nicely. If I put this glue on my kitchen cabinets first, and then apply wet wallpaper, to finish with more mod podge on top for finishing... Is this possible?
Hi I like to use the mod podge to put napkin paper on a canvas bag. I applied the fabric tissue mod podge on the canvas bag then put the napkin paper on it. After it dries I apply couple coats of outdoor mod podge as sealer. May I know can I wash the tote bag?
I am looking at putting an image from an antique postcard from the early 20th century on a child's highchair that I am renovating. Painting, then applying the mod podge, and the carefully cut image from the postcard or antique calendar image. Do you think card stock is too heavy for this kind of project? The highchair is solid wood, with a lovely large shield shaped backrest. Thank you for your feedback. I've never done decoupage before.
Hi Laura, Using a thicker cardstock will have what you are Mod Podging raised up higher. If it's a heavy use item you may do a color photocopy of the image and put on the high chair. You may also test a scrap piece of card to see how it final piece would look
Thanks guys for a PERFECT and informative video....love all of your vids........one thing tho: The music was absolutely DEAFENING and too annoying......Softly in the background would have been so much more enjoyable. Not a question for me to turn the vol down...it also turns your voices down......so during the record.....alot LESS music...please. Thanks so much for sharing you great info and talents....the both of you. Ken from Orlando, FL
Hi Catie and Steve... I need your advice...I wanna make a ceramic coaster with personalize pictures but at the same time waterproof from daily use...do I need sealer for final touch?what kind of mod podge should I use?...and for glass wine with glitters- is super thick glossmod podge and acrylic gloss sealer for final touch okay?
wow 5 years ago but yea youre soo right the music distracts my Oh look theres a squirel attention spankings .. such mod many podge very music so crafts amaze!
I have painted my living room table with black chalkboard paint and add stickers to the table I even put them on the legs of the table what kind of mod podge should I use to keep the stickers from coming off the legs
No, this process works with a dry toner/laser print. If you have an image we recommend taking it to an office supply store and getting a color copy made. Then use this to photo transfer. Just make sure you reverse the image
QUESTION: In the 70's, we Decoupaged some paper/posters/maps to stained (only) wood, that WE REALLY LIKE. (We cannot find replacements for them) The items have turned a dark amber color that is hard to see through. (One has “streaked” a light and dark amber) (1) Is there any process that these aged decoupage pieces can be safely lighted or brightened up?
What is the basic kind of Mod Podge I should use to glue stuff and use as a nice coating for my wood? And does Mod Podge dishwasher safe work? i want to cover a mug I drew on with it... Thank you!
+Hadar Goldberg Most of the Mod Podge formulas will work nicely as a glue and decoupage medium on wood such as: Matte, Gloss, Satin, Ultra Matte Chalk, Pearl, Furniture, Extreme Glitter, Outdoor, Sparkle, Antique Matte, and Hard Coat. It all depends on the finish or sheen desired. Most likely Matte and Gloss are the two most commonly used formulas.
+Hadar Goldberg Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe does in fact work if the instructions are followed correctly. Here is a good blog post introducing Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe .... www.plaidonline.com/blog/post/2015/07/21/diy-decoupage-on-glass-yes-it-s-that-easy
Hello Cathie and Steve, Can I use a TISSUE PAPER (printed with laser printer) to apply on fabric (t-shirt) ? Do I cure it by ironing then too ? Thanks a lot a lot a lot.
Hi, when working with paper on fabric to create photo transfer images, the best paper to use is simply printer paper, or copier paper. Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium is a very thick product. I believe it will tear up the tissue paper and ruin your project in the application process. I would not endorse using the tissue paper. Secondly, there is no need to iron the photo transfer image and it will not cure the project. Once Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium is applied, the image transferred and the project dry, Mod Podge Photo Transfer is cured and can be washed either by hand or in the laundry.
Mod Podge is a type of glue. It says on the jar that it's a waterbase sealer, glue and finish. By the colours on the label it looks like gloss Mod Podge, but I really don't know.
I had a beautiful image printed off at the printer instead of printing it on my inkjet because it was cutting off part of the image. It is gorgeous and I don't want to try to transfer it. I want it to be as vibrant as it is now. Can I do this with computer paper? Can I use the mod podge spray for the last coat?
Basic decoupage techniques can be used on many different types of paper. If you prefer the image that was printed at a printer store, I am sure the quality of the paper is better than home computer printer paper. Because you enjoy the vibrant color, I would suggest using this print to directly decoupage to the desired surface. We suggest applying Mod Podge directly to the surface as well as to the back of the paper print. Once the paper if flipped over, place the print "glue-to-glue" on the surface. Be sure to smooth it in place and remove air pockets and excess Mod Podge. Allow the decoupaged print to rest for 20 minutes and then topcoat it with Mod Podge to seal and protect. Yes, a final spray sealer can be applied over the Mod Podge topcoat. This will ensure that the print is sealed and will remove any tackiness.
Looks like they’re using just the classic Mod Podge brand mod podge. It is a glue. There’s the classic, gloss, matte, photo, etc. You can easily Google which one you’d need for your specific project, but the classic mod podge is usually the go to. Edit: just realized this comment is 8 years old. You probably figured it out by now... I hope lol.
Hi Art, if you want it to look wrinkly and bubbly before it dries, one of the best ways to get that effect is crumple up the paper, then flatten it out. Then use the Mod Podge. It will dry with that effect.
HELP! So I did everything right (I think) at gluing some scrapbook paper onto a clipboard let it dry over night just to be safe came back the next day to do my top coat and instantly there was huge bubbles. what happened? the only thing I can think is the paper is too thin because I don't have any problems with the thicker paper. UGH
Hello! It seems as though one step may have been missed. To properly adhere paper to a clipboard, it is best first to apply Mod Podge to the backside of the paper cutout as well as to the front of the clipboard. Flip paper cutout over and position in place where desired. Smooth in place to remove excess Mod Podge, captured air pockets and paper wrinkles. To smooth, you can use your hands moving from the center outward, however, the best way is to use a Mod Podge smoothing tool like the brayer or squeegee. I also have a tip of laying a sheet of waxed paper between the surface and the smoothing tool. If there is any excess Mod Podge squeezed to the surface edge, the waxed paper will catch it, also smoothing against the waxed paper is smooth and easy. Remove the waxed paper and allow the decoupaged surface to rest 15 - 20 minutes. No need to wait overnight. Next, apply a topcoat of Mod Podge over the entire surface. I find it best to apply a smooth, thin application rather that a heavy one. If desired, a couple additional applications can be applied once dry. I believe you may have not released the captured air pockets.
If I wanted to paint something on the paper after I've Mod Podged it to the wood and I don't have "a couple of hours" to wait for it to dry, is 30 mins an ok time? I'm having a party and people are going to be able to choose whatever they want to put on it, which is why I can't paint the letter before the paper goes on.
Love how your entryway turned out but I really like the painting and how you put the brush strokes on there with the Mod podge!
Love your videos!

i was making mini book charms and I wanted to top coat the book. The book dried solid white. What did I do wrong. Did I put too much?
If I printed pictures on card stock will the ink run when I do the top coat of the pictures?
The ink won't run as long as you use a laser printer
Love your videos. I'd just like to see you more often. You have great projects and it gets my creative juices flowing.
At the end you went over a lot of other uses but I didn’t j detest and about the bird shaped necklace ?
Can you use photos without photo copying them?
